I've Recreated A Copywriter's Brain - Digitally (Video)

For the last 6 months, I've been in my digital laboratory working long days and nights building something pretty incredible for you - something I'm finally ready to reveal...�

Simply put: I built a brain...yes, a brain! But not just any ol' gooey brain (which would be kind of gross), but a digital brain, which you'll see in a moment.�

It was born from a realization I had last year.�

THAT is when I had the inspiration to give birth to the brain, or what I now call The Copywriter's Brain.�

Here's How To Get More Done!

Here's a question you may want to ask yourself regularly:

What am I doing with my 24 hours?

In other words, every day, what do you have to show for burning through another 24 hours of your life?

simple system for doing it.

It's a system I stumbled across not too long ago that I recently put to the test, and used to take an idea I had, to a complete, ready-to-install software product in just 5 days!

If you're ready to put more life and more action into your day, then get a pen and paper and write down this simple system.

It consists of 3 basic steps. Here they are:

Write down all the tasks you want to get done today
Assign a specific block of time for completing each task (like 30 minutes)
Select a task, start a timer, and focus on nothing else until that task is complete!

I Did It Because The Economy Stinks!!!

I'm sure you've noticed that everyday the news has more and more stories about:

soaring food costs
record foreclosures
cuts here - inflation there

It's getting ridiculous! Don't you think?

Each and every one of us are being affected somehow.

The bottom line: We need some relief!

Usually it's because I want to give the absolute best experience to my readers and subscribers.

I mean, I could just type a line or two, or even a paragraph or two and leave it at that, but unless I can deliver something of high quality, I just as soon not deliver anything.

A new tool I just discovered may be the answer to my content-producing issue.

Not only is it a very original idea, but it's a tremendous time-saver as well.

It's called Zemanta, and you can see it in action within this post (the image and the related articles and the link below to Firefox browser on Wikipedia).

It's a Firefox browser add-on that integrates with some blogging tools (such as Blogger) allowing you to quickly discover media (images, articles, tags) related to your current post that you can insert with the click of a button.

It's actually quite brilliant!

It's Time To Tell You What's Been Going On...

Hey there, remember me? It's Derek.

I just checked and it's been over 2 months since I last posted anything here. That's awful- just awful!

Where in the world have I been, you ask? Well, that's what I'm about to share with you.

Did I take a trip around the world? No, not yet!
Was I in a terrible accident that had me in bed? Thank goodness, no!
Did I quit using the Internet? Yeah, right! :)

Actually, the main thing that has kept me from posting is something I refer to as hyper-focus.

What is it?

It's something I contend with on occasion - whenever I'm working on/developing something that I am so stoked about, very few other things matter (as much as I hate to admit it sometimes).

So, what's this 'mystery' project?

I'll tell you this much:

It's something that the people who have seen it have used words such as, 'astonishing', 'incredible', 'WOWOWOW' to describe (I don't make it up, I'm just the messenger)
It is 100% unlike anything you've ever seen
It's something you could use many times a day
It could be the most useful thing you'll find on the Web

OK, I don't want to get into over-hype-mode, because this project doesn't need it - at all. Just take my word for it; this is going to get you to sit up and give your attention to. :)

I'm happy to announce that a brand new version of whonu.com is now live, and it absolutely ROCKS, if I do say so myself. :)

I'll show you some sample searches in a second, but first I wanted to talk a bit about the need for an upgrade.

With the new version, I set out to:

Make it easier to use (I removed a lot of 'fluff')
Make it load faster (it's 3 times faster now)
Make the search results page a LOT more useful

I've achieved all 3 better than I could have dreamed.

I'm especially excited about the new search results page, which on top of a number of useful enhancements includes videos related to your query (which you can view right on the page), and related eBay auctions (at the bottom of the page).

Altogether, I think you'll find whonu's search results page one of the most useful around.

But don't take my word for it, try it yourself. Here are some sample general searches:

I just found a Website containing some of the most amazing photographs I ever seen.

You see, this guy goes around to old, abandoned places out west, at night, and photographs them using special lighting techniques he's developed.

The result are eerie, yet thought-provoking. It's hard to describe the sensation I get by looking at his work, but I loved it so much, I had to share it.

Be sure to click the various navigation links at the top of the page to explore the different categories of photos (they're all stunning).

Oh, and for the full effect, make sure the room you're in is dark - it puts you in the intended mood.
