Thanks… i will try to publish more as tech note. I had quite a lot note in my Eventnote collection, but i guess nobody other myself can understand those notes. I need to set aside some time to tidy up those notes first.

Just wanted to let you know I updated the docs to help clear this up. I think using a client object and just letting the internal implementations use the RequestFactory is the best way to go from this point forward.

Thanks for your feedback. You’re absolutely right.

The Guzzle\Service namespace is a higher level implementation than the Guzzle\Http namespace. It’s aim is to make it easier to interact with one web service per client. You should use the Guzzle\Service\Client class to create homogeneous requests that share some common behavior (e.g. logging, a particular signing method, shared API keys) or need to interact with Guzzle\Service\CommandInterface objects.

The Guzzle\Http\Message\RequestFactory is used mostly internally, but it can also be used for sending single requests (e.g. scraping, downloading a file, etc).

thanks, guzzle is actually quite good in my opinion, i have been using the old Pear HTTP_Client and Snoopy for many years and i have recently started switching to Guzzle for my personal projects.

the only minor (very minor, to be honest) thing i don’t like is the documentation. it’s actually a bit confusing as when it’s better to use the RequestFactory class method and Guzzle\Service\Client class.

since the original developer abandon the project, i don’t think anyone is really adding new feature or maintain it actively, Cerdic at github did quite a good job to help and keep publishing the source codes and keep the github project in sync with the original svn tree. i guess you may want to let Cerdic know.

i absolutely support your idea to rewrite it in more php5 friendly way… and the codes are in fact, very old……. my personal feeling is that you probably need to find a way to version your codes or rename the project….

i’m happy to package your codes and distribute via my own pear channel, and update my pear packager with work with your code base.
