"A solução para a arquitectura portuguesa é emigrar" A &lt;a href="http://sol.sapo.pt/inicio/Cultura/Interior.aspx?content_id=20837" target="_blank"&gt;frase&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;de Souto Moura, discursada enquanto recebia um reconhecimento titular e monetário pela sua obra, tem (quase) tudo para ser uma frase (quase) 'histórica' tanto pela hipótese que carrega como pelo contexto em que foi anunciada. Sem uma palavra a mais e sem uma palavra a menos, teria o perfil talhado para a polémica, não fosse a realidade mais do que evidente antes da bandeirada. Difícil é, no entanto, acenar de rosto concordante por se lhe encontrar outro raciocínio talvez menos imediato mas não por isso menos importante.&amp;nbsp;De vocação internacional, a frase soou a anúncio redentor como se o óbvio não fosse ainda evidente aos olhos de todos aqueles que não têm trabalho, ou tendo trabalho, não fazem o que queriam. Parece simples, 'emigrem'. Demasiado simples.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;
O que aqui não é assim tão evidente é que, ao sair para fora do país essa massa uniforme de&amp;nbsp;ex-recém formados arquitectos, recém-formados arquitectos e futuros recém-formados arquitectos, não é a 'arquitectura portuguesa' que está a emigrar, mas a formação em 'arquitectura portuguesa'. E isto não é bem a mesma coisa.&lt;br /&gt;
Ou seja, se considerarmos que os primeiros 5 anos de trabalho de um recém arquitecto são ainda um período de formação, então afirmar que os potenciais emigrantes não carregam ainda essa herança chamada 'arquitectura portuguesa' não é de todo falso. É diferente e com um outro grau de verdade.&amp;nbsp;Dito assim, a diáspora que poderemos vir a assistir é a da 'escola portuguesa' e não da 'arquitectura portuguesa'.&amp;nbsp;Por outras palavras e a verificar-se uma fervorosa adesão ao movimento, o fenómeno não é uma fatalidade, mas está-se ainda longe de entender o seu impacto na forma da 'futura arquitectura portuguesa recente'. A arquitectura portuguesa 'as we know it', que parece padecer da &lt;a href="http://p3.publico.pt/cultura/arquitectura/1981/pedro-gadanho-arquitectura-portuguesa-acaba-por-se-virar-muito-para-dentro" target="_blank"&gt;auto-referenciação&lt;/a&gt;, pode ter um fim, ou pelo menos um re-desenho do seu conteúdo.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
O&amp;nbsp;trabalho vai ser mais difícil para os 'formuladores teóricos' e para os historiadores -&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNWhetw5qiQ" target="_blank"&gt;Calling all enthusiasts&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;- a&amp;nbsp;'futura arquitectura portuguesa recente' será complexa na sua génese formativa. Com fontes mais exigentes a dissecar, a historiografia será menos linear e óbvia.&amp;nbsp;Fortemente contaminada por vivências dispersas, a história dos protagonistas - os projectos - será (mais) difícil de contar, e é provável que 'displacement' se prepare para ser uma palavra-chave. No ar o&amp;nbsp;tempo está suspenso e no chão a posição é arriscada. Fica por descobrir de que lado do arco e flecha está a futura arquitectura portuguesa.&lt;br /&gt;

Não quero cometer injustiças ao dizer que me detenho mais tempo a olhar para a capa da &lt;a href="http://iuc-revistas.com/ojs/public/journals/3/cover_issue_40_en_US.jpg" target="_blank"&gt;Joelho #2&lt;/a&gt; do que a ler o seu interior. Mas cada vez que pego na revista do &lt;a href="http://www.uc.pt/fctuc/darq" target="_blank"&gt;dArq&lt;/a&gt; é isso que me acontece.&lt;br /&gt;
O &lt;a href="http://iuc-revistas.com/ojs/public/journals/3/cover_issue_40_en_US.jpg" target="_blank"&gt;segundo número&lt;/a&gt; da nova série do que antigamente era conhecido por "Em cima do joelho" dedica-se ao tema das intersecções entre arquitectura (what else?) e antropologia, e é uma versão 'director's cut', revisitada e ampliada dos Colóquios de Outono realizados em 2009 na UC.&amp;nbsp;A capa - o mote para estas palavras - é singularmente ilustrada por um desenho da artista Alice Geirinhas.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
São duas figuras em posição sentada e de perfil, que se enfrentam, de braços estendidos ou apoiados numa mesa que não existe. De olhar vazio, é ali que carregam a expressão do rosto, com rugas em torno dos olhos, como se o confronto de que se fala se passasse a um nível subconsciente.&lt;br /&gt;
No eixo entre as duas figuras de traço estilizado, grosso e quase primitivo, está uma casa, no seu sentido mais vasto, de traço geral, um pouco rossiano e afinidades que nos poderiam levam a Hejduk. Foi 'humanizada', de olhos fechados, nariz e tudo, semblante carregado pelo peso das janelas traçadas na face, e a testa solenemente enrugada pelas lages aparentes. O desenho completa a casa com uma cave em dois níveis de contornos menos regulares e que me lembra o primeiro capítulo de Bachelard, 'De la cave au grenier' em 'La poétique de l'espace'.&lt;br /&gt;
Entre as duas figuras femininas, a casa, de dois braços - um sobre o plano comum e outro levantado como quem pede a palavra - assume-se "a topografia do nosso ser mais íntimo" (palavras de Bachelard) onde mora o inconsciente das duas personagens.&lt;br /&gt;
Nas sombras, adivinha-se que a fonte de luz que dá volume ao corpo da esquerda está algures à direita na composição, e na outra figura tudo é invertido, a luz que revela o tronco cilíndrico virá 'debaixo'.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
O repetido exercício de observação do trabalho das sombras constrói a particularidade indigesta do desenho mas também a mais estimulante.&amp;nbsp;A personagem da esquerda, embora recebendo a luz do cimo, tem na perna esquerda uma excepção com uma fonte de luz inferior. A outra personagem repete a irregularidade, trabalhada na sua inversão, com uma quarta fonte a iluminar de forma estranha o braço direito em relação ao resto do corpo.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Com uma montagem particular das sombras que concedem volumetria às duas 'disciplinas', o desenho de Alice Geirinhas tem assim qualquer coisa de perturbador no trabalho da sombra que parece desafiar a percepção comum e que confere à composição e ao conteúdo da revista, por acidente ou inspiração, um desequilíbrio que excita o olho e sublinha as intersecções compiladas em cima deste Joelho.&lt;br /&gt;

É verdade que se tratava de uma ausência lamentável, um esquecimento que parece agora vir tarde demais. &lt;i&gt;Parce que regarder la danse c'est se soustraire au langage articulé.&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;i&gt;On sait bien que la danse se réduit dans le mot.&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;i&gt;Que le vocabulaire, même précis, est insuffisant pour dire l'unicité d'un geste.&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;i&gt;Cependant une danse qui ne pourrait s'énoncer n'aurait pas figura humaine.&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Elles visent à déterminer la valeur humaine des espaces de possession, des espaces défendus contre des forces adverses, des espaces aimés. » &lt;/i&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"  style="font-size:x-small;"&gt;Gaston Bachelard, La poétique de l’espace (1957)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;Dans son livre La poétique de l’espace, Gaston Bachelard introduit la problématique de l’image comme « un produit direct du cœur, de l’âme, de l’être de l’homme saisi dans son actualité. » En effet, Bachelard nous parle de l’image poétique qui « prend racine en nous-mêmes » et déclenche la réflexion.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;Comment une image, parfois très singulière, peut-elle apparaître comme un générateur spatial ? Comment, à travers un exercice quasi cinématographique, pourrons-nous faire du projet ? Pourrons-nous construire de l’espace tout en partant d’une histoire, d’une narration ? Comment, à travers l’addition des espaces, pourrons-nous mieux comprendre les mécanismes de la densité ?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;A priori sans contexte ou programme, l’exercice est parti de l’image, pas seulement comme outil de représentation, mais principalement comme instrument de recherche et moteur de projet. L’image toujours proche du sujet, du plus petit vers le plus grand.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;A travers des opérations simples d’addition, collage, augmentation, superposition, transformation, remplacement, contamination, chaque image a gagné une nouvelle dimension.&lt;span style="mso-spacerun: yes"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;L’accumulation des images a conçu un espace, une ambiance, un parcours, une histoire.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;Un travail patient de recherche et d’analyse de l’image, toujours balisé par la rigueur et la précision, a permis de la décrypter pour retirer l’essentiel. Ces images se sont transformées en catalyseurs de projet et des intentions architecturales. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;Les valeurs particulières de chaque image ont trouvé un terrain commun dans l’idée de la domesticité des espaces, indépendamment de son programme, de sa taille, de sa forme. En effet, « tout espace vraiment habité porte l’essence de la notion de maison ».&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;Le propos a permis l’abandon des habitudes d’un certain savoir-faire pour faire basculer la façon de faire du projet d’architecture vers d’autres formes de conception et exploration de la vie quotidienne. Le travail avec l’image a généré une plus forte capacité d’abstraction ainsi qu’une proximité surprenante avec le sujet.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;Ce processus s’est présenté, non pas comme une résistance aux connaissances acquises, mais comme une alternative, une forme innovante de production spatiale, qui pose des bases essentielles d'un projet.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;A la fin, certaines images ne sont pas précises, (et elles ne l’ont pas à être) elles parlent d’un détail, d’une situation, d’une action, d’un sentiment. Elles sont subjectives et variables, comme un produit de l’imagination. Néanmoins, elles nous parlent de la densité, de la vie et de la ville, de l'espace individuel. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span lang="FR"&gt;Elles expriment les qualités de l’espace qui se construit autour de chacun. &lt;/span&gt;Peu à peu, par l’addition des vides, un parcours se construit.
