Dwarka: Several Hindu bodies organized a protest rally in the pilgrim town of Dwarka following the elopement of a married Hindu woman with a Muslim man.

The rally, led by various Hindu bodies including the Kharva community, was held after a Muslim man eloped with a married Hindu woman from the Okhamandal area in Dwarka. The demonstrators submitted a memorandum to the Prant office, demanding efforts to locate the missing Hindu woman and take appropriate actions against the accused man.

The married Hindu woman, originally from the Okhamandal area, was living at her native place after returning from her in-laws’ house. However, she did not come back after leaving home, claiming that she was going to obtain a certificate from college. Upon investigation, her family found that she had eloped with a Muslim man. The Okha Samast Kharva community also presented a memorandum to the Okha Marine Police, seeking their assistance in the matter. DeshGujarat

Gandhinagar: Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) is going to take place in January next year after a gap of five years. With slightly over six months remaining until the event, the state government has established three essential committees to supervise the planning and execution of this flagship business event.

The three committees, created through separate government resolutions, are the core committee, executive committee, and advisory committee.

The core committee, consisting of 28 members, will be chaired by the Chief Minister (CM), with the Industries Minister serving as the vice-chairman. Its members will include relevant industry ministers, advisors to the CM, the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and secretaries of related departments. Additionally, representatives from the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), the Industries Commissioner, and the Managing Director of iNDECTb will be part of the committee. The core committee will function as the highest authority for VGGS 2024, making decisions on policy matters, providing guidance to other committees, reviewing preparations periodically, and finalizing the summit’s theme and format.

Heading the executive committee will be the Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries and Mines Department, supported by 128 other members from various departments. This committee will handle the planning and execution of exhibitions, seminars, conferences, one-to-one meetings, and cultural events associated with VGGS 2024.

The advisory committee will also be headed by CM and with the Industries Minister as the vice-chairman, will consist of 37 members. The chairperson of Adani Group, Gautam Adani, Rajya Sabha MP and Director-Corporate Affairs, RIL Parimal Nathwani, CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank, Uday Kotak, Director of IIM, Prof. Bharat Bhasker, and Director of IIT Gandhinagar, Prof. Rajat Moona, are a few notable members of the advisory committee.

Ahmedabad: A sessions court here in the city has sentenced a cattle owner to three years of imprisonment for releasing his two camels on a public road.

Special public prosecutor KB Kanjya, representing the government, argued in the sessions court that the accused, Mangabhai Dhulabhai Patni, should be given exemplary punishment. Mangabhai allegedly released his two camels on the BRTS road in front of Sabarmati police station on 14th July 2019. This act is considered a criminal offence and poses a risk to the lives of pedestrians and drivers on the road. The cattle menace control department of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) seized the camels. A complaint was filed against Mangabhai for violating the notification, the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act of 1960, and other relevant sections. DeshGujarat

Gandhinagar: The state law department has decided to establish 20 new e-traffic courts across the state to alleviate the burden of e-traffic operations.

Previously, the trial of e-traffic court cases throughout the entire state was exclusively conducted in the court located in Ahmedabad city. However, with the implementation of these 20 new e-traffic courts in various districts, the handling of e-challan operations will be more convenient. Court hearings related to e-challan cases will be held in the court of the Judicial Magistrate First Class, where e-challans will also be accepted. The introduction of e-courts will facilitate swift case resolutions.

Action regarding e-traffic will be taken in the following locations: Vadhai, Khergam, Subir J.M.F.C. in Navsari district; Liliya, Kukawav, and Khambha J.M.F.C. in Amreli district; Suigam and Danta in Banaskantha district; Dholera in Ahmedabad district; Veraval in Somnath district. Additionally, action will be taken by the Principal Judge in the Courts of Judicial Magistrate First Class at Panchmahal, Bhavnagar, Dahod, Porbandar, Tapi, Gir Somnath, Surendranagar, Patan, Sabarkantha, and Junagadh.

It is important to note that if a challan remains unpaid within 90 days of issuance, the court takes action by issuing a notice to the vehicle owner. DeshGujarat

Vadodara: A Hindu woman police constable who was living with a Muslim man Saddam Garasiya in live-in relationship has gone missing. Saddam has in a complaint filed in Desar police station alleged that his live-in partner Maniben Chaudhary has been kidnapped.

Maniben Chaudhary who was earlier deployed at Dabhoi Police station was in news in January this year as she eloped with one Saddam Garasiya. Her father had alleged Love Jihad in this case. After their return in couple days, Maniben was taken to her native village Therwada in Deesa taluka of Banaskantha district by her parents. However Maniben returned to Saddam on 1st March and both started living together in Mayurbhai Patel’s rented house in karvaniya locality of Vejpur village in Desar taluka where Maniben was transferred by Police department.

Saddam has informed police that on 6 July, Maniben left home at 8 am to join duty while he himself had gone to Habipura village of Dabhoi taluka for some work. Both had spoken with each other on phone call later. However in the next morning, Maniben’s phone was switched off. When Saddam visited the police station, he was told that Maniben had left at 8.20 am on her Activa two-wheeler. When checked at Canal road, Saddam found Maniben’s Activa but couldn’t find her. When asked, a person working in nearby farm said, she was taken in a black color car to somewhere by three persons. DeshGujarat

Let’s see it station by station. The fastest train connecting Ahmedabad to Palanpur, the district headquarters of Banaskantha so far was Ahmedabad – New Delhi Rajdhani Express. It takes 2.10 hour time to travel between Ahmedabad and Palanpur. Compared to this, Vande Bharat Express takes 1.53 hour time. Of course, Rajdhani Express runs from Kalupur railway station in Ahmedabad while Vande Bharat runs from Sabarmati station in Ahmedabad. If we minus the time taken from Kalupur to Sabarmati, then the difference would be lesser but still, the Vande Bharat Express would prove fastest on this route. So while Vande Bharat leaves Ahmedabad at 18.30 and reaches Palanpur at 20.40, Vande Bharat would leave at 16.45 and reach Palanpur at 18.38.

Now let’s speak about Ahmedabad to Abu Road. While the fastest on this route so far, Rajdhani Express takes 2.50 hours to reach Abu Road from Ahmedabad, the Vande Bharat Express takes 2.28 hours, of course from Sabarmati in Ahmedabad (in Rajdhani’s case – Kalupur in Ahmedabad). So Vande Bharat saves some 22 minutes of timing. While Rajdhani Express leaves Ahmedabad at 18.30 and reaches Abu Road at 21.20, Vande Bharat leaves Ahmedabad at 16.45 and reaches Abu Road at 19.13. For those who want to travel to Mount Abu hill station via Abu Road railway station by train, this evening arrival time is a bit odd, because in most cases, hotel check-in time is 12.00 noon.

Let’s check Ahmedabad – Jodhpur time-saving. The fastest on this route so far is Jaisalmer Express which takes 7.40 hours time to travel from Sabarmati to Jodhpur. Compared to this, Vande Bharat would take just 6.10 hours to travel on the same route. This is a net saving of one and a half hours. While Jaisalmer Express leaves Sabarmati at 23.00 and reaches Jodhpur at 6.40 am, Vande Bharat leaves Sabarmati at 16.45 and reaches Jodhpur at 22.55.

Vande Bharat would stop at Mahesana after leaving Sabarmati. It’s worth noting, that on this route, Vande Bharat would not be the fastest train. Yes, you heard it right. Sabarmati – Agra cant train takes 00.39 hour time to travel between Sabarmati to Mahesana, while Vande Bharat Express would take 00.48 hour time to travel on the same route.

So in actuality, Vande Bharat would pick up the speed post-Mahesana till Abu Road and will pick up even higher speed after Abu Road which would result in a net saving of one and a half hour journey time when it would reach Jodhpur. It’s worth noting that the first Vande Bharat Express of Gujarat which runs on the Gandhinagar to Mumbai route is the fastest to travel on Ahmedabad to Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, Borivali, and Mumbai Central. DeshGujarat
