There are plenty of styles out there that can add instant ‘wow’ to a guys wardrobe but what really needs to change for me the lack of colour in the wardrobe of men. I do concede that sometimes a nice pair of black jeans can look good with navy blue t-shirt but we really do need to mix things up a bit.

I’m sure that if 80% of men took a look into their wardrobe now they wouldn’t find anything in the colour of pink, green or yellow and these colours are seriously underused in men’s fashion.

Spring has finally arrived and summer is just around the corner so this is the perfect time of year to be trying something new and adding colour to your wardrobe. Here are three colours that I implore you to try out and you’ll be looking fresh in the sun this year.

Green

There are so many variations of this colour and all of them can look great when accompanied by other colours and styles that compliment them.

My recommendation would be to go for some light green chinos or pastel green shorts which can look great with blues, greys and browns.

Darker green colours are easier to pair with almost anything and I’d suggest a deep green shirt is essential from this year’s summer parties.

Try out a khaki green bomber jacket with jeans and a white t-shirt for a look that has made a sweeping comeback to the fashion world.

Pink

Pink is another underrated colour when it comes to men’s fashion but I guarantee is just what you need to make the girls wink this summer.

There is a common misconception amongst most men that the colour pink is only for women’s fashion but this is far from true as adding this colour to your wardrobe could give you the cool look you’re after.

Pink goes perfectly with a plethora of colour such as beige, white, green, and brown and there are plenty of ways you can wear it.

A pink shirt with some beige shorts or chinos is a good look and if you’re feeling really confident some light pink chinos are a perfect combination with a light blue shirt and brown belt.

Don’t worry about the feminine stereotypes surrounding this colour because it will be sure to turn heads for all of the right reasons this year.

Yellow

The colour I most associate with the summer is yellow yet I will confess that I have excluded it from my wardrobe for far too long. This year try something yellow to keep you looking cool and feeling cool.

This is a difficult colour to get right but when you do pull it off it is one of the best colours you can be seen it. I would suggest that you don’t use yellow as the dominant colour of your outfit but as rather more of a statement piece.

A smart, light yellow shirt can go great with some black jeans and for the warm days you can look extra fresh in some light yellow shorts and a white or light blue shirt.

It’s always a good option to start small and add in new colours through accessories such as opting to wear a yellow or pink tie for work or a light pink t-shirt accompanied by a jacket of a dominating colour.

Try to incorporate at least one of these colours into your wardrobe this summer and you’ll be reaping the benefits instantly.

One gift I hope to be receiving this year is clothing or at least some vouchers for the clothing shops.

2016 has been a great year so far for fashion and the Milan Fashion Show last month was a huge success with some delightful pieces on show.

I don’t know about you but I feel like I didn’t get everything I needed in the January sales and I think Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to have your eye on some new clothing and if you’re struggling on a gift for someone then you can never go wrong with some fashionable purchases. Just remember to keep the receipt in case your day isn’t too keen on your choice.

Here are my top choices for him and for her.

The Black Skinny Jeans

If one thing the start of this year has told me it’s that black skinny jeans are definitely not going anywhere. These are a great choice of clothing for both men and women and you can’t go wrong with a good pair of these.

I would recommend that you check out Diesel and All Saints for the guy’s jeans and Topshop for the girls.

Checkered Shirt

If you want to smarten your man up then a shirt is definitely the way forward. At the minute there is so much love for the checked shirt which has been dominating for some time now. I’d suggest that you take a look in Topman for one of these as they have a really nice collection at present. Personally I’d go for some darker colours within the shirt like grey and purple which would go perfect with the skinny black jeans.

Little Black Dress

Gents, I’m not going to lie, it can be a big risk buying clothes for your girl but something that tends to go down well every time is a little black dress. The ladies can’t get enough of them and one thing is for sure, they’re not going out of fashion any time soon.

The safe option

A hat can be a pretty important item of clothing in the winter and is something that will make you feel a lot warmer when the snow comes to town. Premier X New Balance M998 PRMR

New Balance has become a huge name in the world of footwear and this is no surprise with the amount of amazing trainers they are producing. New Balance offer some stylish sneakers as well as some great running shoes as well and the craftsmanship is something special.

This pair of New Balance trainers are one of my favourites of 2015 because of the style and the colour contrast.

These are some of the freshest creps of 2015 with their trendy knit look and other worldly soles. If you can get yourself a pair of these then you’d be a lucky man because they offer extreme comfort and go perfectly with some dark denim.

Adidas Originals X Spezial Kirkdale SPZL

If you want something very pleasing on the eye then I would recommend these trainers which look great and feel great on. They aren’t setting the world on fire but these sneakers are really cool and make any casual look look effective.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Varsity Red

Check out these smart sneaks from Nike Jordan. They might take some confidence to wear but if you can pull it off you’ll be one seriously cool looking guy. This modern twist on a classic has brought back the GOAT’s look perfectly.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350

Probably the most anticipated pairs of trainers ever were released in 2015 and these were the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350s which were designed by none other than Kanye West who has been dropping some pretty fresh tunes as well as trainers and other items of clothing this year.

These trainers sold out in record time and I count myself very lucky to have my hands (and feet) on a pair which I wear with caution.

The Adidas Yeezy Boost 350s are an attractive and unbelievably comfortable pair of trainers which I would recommend to anyone who can get a pair. The cheapest you would be looking at is around about £300 but you won’t regret your choice.
