A recent A/B test I ran examined how a preview image on a landing page affects the page’s conversion rate.

The results of the test were conclusive – a landing page that includes a preview image of the offer had a 359 percent higher conversion rate than a landing page without the preview image.

For years you have been searching for it. You hear the question being asked in your dreams as you go on an Indiana-Jones-type-crusade to find the answer. When the answer comes to you, you know that the confetti will fall from the ceiling and the band will start playing your favorite song. You might even get a kiss from that special someone. So what is this question?

You might have seen a number of websites selling really cool t-shirts packed on the front and / or back with awesome text, illustrations or typographic madness. Creating a t-shirt like that isn’t as difficult as you might think. The really hard part is creating the cool graphics that cover the t-shirt. Luckily you don’t have to as there are a number of free vector websites where you can find loads of great vectorial graphics ready made and fit to put on your t-shirts.

Desktop wallpapers always come in handy. The more inspirational, beautiful and elegant they are, the better they can challenge our imagination and provide some fresh perspective in a rather tedious and monotonous workflow. However, desktop wallpapers sometimes can go far beyond offering colorful eye-candy; sometimes desktop wallpapers include calendars, funny cartoons and logos of favourite tools, services and companies. The latter is particularly true for Apple-fans and Microsoft-haters as well as for Google, Twitter and Firefox-users.

With the emerging popularity and use of social media sites, people are signing up for existing social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and many more. To keep existing user base and new signees hooked onto their site; these social media websites constantly work on new technologies and features to enhance user experience. One such clever feature is ‘infinite scrolling’ based on JQuery. It is a technique to retain users on a single page of a website. When the user scrolls down, more content is fetched and loaded on the same page, so the user does not have to manually click on ‘next’ to go to the next page.

Most people who own a website have asked the question: “What is my website worth?”

It’s also one of the most common questions we field over here at Flippa and the only easy answer is that it’s worth whatever the market is willing to pay.

This is obviously not so useful for someone looking to price their site to sell, or for a bidder looking to place a bid on a website auction, so let’s dig a bit deeper.

I remember how popular web design was even 5 or 10 years ago. Kids in high school were teaching themselves HTML and building small web pages from scratch. And nowadays this is possible because of the thousands of free tutorials and code online. Open source has dramatically shaped an industry of high-tech and high demand.

Much of HTML 5′s feature set involves JavaScript APIs that make it easier to develop interactive web pages but there are a slew of new elements that allow you extra semantics in your conventional Web 1.0 pages. In order to investigate these, let’s look at marking up a blog.
