Not many people call it the study these days. Most call it a home office, but the study is really a mix between a home office and a personal library, hence the name “study”. Your line of work may or may not call for a special collection of encyclopedias or professional hardback references, but it does add an air of sophistication to the room.

The classic study is more formal and provides a very luxuriant feeling. In the classic study you’ll see walls lined with wood bookshelves that reach to the ceiling and a large desk in the center of the room, usually facing the door. However, your study can be designed to fit your specific personal tastes. So if classic is not the style you desire, the study can be designed and built to your design personality.
