Developers: FTP site

hi there,

sorry not been on in ages... been mega busy at work.

We have an FTP site for my work for uor clients to upload and download files. what we nw need is to have a statud bar there aswell, just just users know how long its gong to take and how big the file is etc.

I have asked my programmer friend, but he sayd it will be expensive etc etc

Does anyone know how to achieve this, but not at a mega expense? or will we just have to pay for this kind of service

I'm not great on programming, but i thought it would be simliar to a pre loader in flash?
