This is the new Google Logo (and all the old ones)

Every company needs to refresh his logo ones in a while. So Google refreshed his recently. It's certainly not the first time the search giant changed his logo. At first site nothing look changed but if you watch closer you see a lot of changes, especially if you compare it with the old logo's.

The logo accidentally leaked a few weeks ago and so began the rumors if this logo was really the new google logo. But now it's clear it is.
The trend in logo's now-a-days is flat design and so is this design. To be honest with you, this is just the old logo but flat. Not a lot has changed.

Twitter: New Developers Update Bans Auto-and Bulk Following

Twitter anounced some changes that should noticeably impact ordinary users. Making it hard for third-party apps to force users to automatically follow the apps' official Twitter accounts, and is also officially prohibiting developers from creating programs that follow other accounts in bulk.

Other small changes: Timestamps on third-party apps and clients can now choose to display either the date or the time. And the Twitter logo is no longer required on individual tweets in third-party clients. The changes are in-and-of themselves minor, but together make up a lot of new material for developers to tackle. Source

You probably haven't missed this news but Google Reader is no more. Google pulled the plug. So what now? The readers below are a good alternative and maybe even better reader apps than Google Reader.

1. Flipboard

Our number one reader app! Flipboard is the most beautiful and user-friendly reader app there is. Just don't search for someting else. This is THE app to use!

2. Pulse

If your searching for a good alternative for flipboard pulse is your best call. A good looking and working reader app. It's definitely worth the try!

Also a good Google Reader alternative. This app got a huge boost after Google Reader closed down. Especially because it has a feature to move all your Google Reader Feeds.

Twitter Short Video App Vine Finally Coming To Android

It took a while but finally Vine is coming to available for android devices. This was announced by it's founders.

The IOS version also got an update as stated on Mashable:

Vine has also submitted at app update to the Apple App Store for a feature that lets you tag friends in videos, the report said.

The news comes just a few weeks after the company introduced the ability to embed Vine videos (at full 600 x 600 resolution) on any website.

The platform has gained popularity over recent months. It's been used by musicians and brands to promote products, news stations to get out news, job applicants and even by the White House. Of course, Vines are also acceptable for sharing with friends how you make dinner and what you're doing in your free time.

Holga - The Rotating Vintage iPhone Camera Filter

Holga allows photographic experimentation with nine built-in special effects filters. The iPhone case adds some vintage flair to your smartphone.

The case is available in black, white, blue, red or silver, and comes with a rotating wheel that resembles a rotary dial. Nine of the filters offer special effects, while the tenth, dubbed "empty hole," is a plain one that produces a simple hole effect. Filters are selected by rotating the wheel. It's compatible with iPhone 4 and 4S.

The Chinese company is known for its low-cost film cameras, that snap quirky distorted images. The unusual effect is appreciated by a number of professional photographers.

Studio oskar zieta works to develop production methods which utilize new engineering techniques and innovative technology to realize a range of furniture and architectural forms; but which can also generate endless possibilities for development and usage. most notably, the polish designer is behind the invention of FiDU technology which is a process which allows for the inflation of metal sheets into 3D forms. the impetus behind his latest innovation was the USM haller modular system, whose mane element is a chrome-plated brass ball joint, connected by steel tubes to form a greater framework of coated metal panels, allowing a number of customized configurations.

His resulting 3+ technology offers a flexible production process-- it does not employ prefabricated sandwich plates, but rather the studio's own manufactured shapes which are based on a composition of two thin customized metal sheets--available in three different sizes. a computer is used to control the development of the objects, each one CNC machined into a one-of-a-kind piece which can be adjusted according to individual needs.

New 2013 Pepsi Bottle Design

Pepsi has introduced a new shape for its 20-ounce bottle for the first time in 16 years. the new bottle has a contoured bottom half that appears easier for holding, and the wraparound label is shorter so that more of the drink is exposed. the single serve bottles, which are widely sold in coolers at drugstores and other retailers, will begin hitting shelves in april. over the years, small changes have been made to its design, such as making the surface easier to grip and shortening the neck of the bottle. source

You probably use WhatsApp every day. It's a great way to contact your friends and more important: It's totally free. (despite your operator costs off course)

The only problem with WhatsApp is that it’s not the very well designed. Julian Kraske seems to agree too so he’s come up with his own design of WhatsApp in his free time. And it looks beautiful. It has a very modern design and the interface is just stunning. Also a beautiful use of the typical green WhatsApp logo color.

Apple revealed two new iPhone 5 commercials. You can watch them below.

"Discover" highlights the iPhone's shopping functions and musical capabilities. Apple's Maps also makes a brief appearance in it.

The other 30-second spot, called "Brilliant," demonstrates how users can pay for Starbucks items using Passbook, an iOS app that stores all types of tickets without having to print them. Passbook support for Starbucks became available in early October. The ad also features the MyScript Calculator app, which lets users sketch out any math problem, and Philips Hue, a web-enabled LED home-lighting system sold exclusively in Apple stores.

Designer Jet Ong from Shengzen, China posted this Alcatel concept phone on Behance. It runs on windows mobile and it has a usb build in in the flip cover. The phone and flip cover are put together and the device is really thin. In my opinion the design really looks like nokia newest phones.

This is just a concept so it doesn't look like this phone will be revealed at any time soon.

There are only 8 simple steps to start with! Sit back, get a piece of paper and get started! Source

1. Get inspired. Look for fabrics, objects or people who inspire you to create a new piece of clothing. Search online or in magazines for current or retro trends that you might want to incorporate into your designs. Try visiting craft and fabric stores to find swatches or notions that could form the basis for a whole piece.

2. Begin to draw. You can draw on paper, or with a computer software. Either way, start with a basic human form. It doesn't have to be anatomically correct, as long as it provides a stable basis for you to design clothing. Outline the basic shape of the garment you wish to design, starting with big ideas and adding details as you refine the drawing.

3. Add color. A lot of the success of your design can depend on what colors you use. Think about the garment's intended purpose and how you imagine someone wearing it. Then choose your colors accordingly. Try to blend unexpected color combinations to add an element of surprise to your design.

4. Use accessories. Frame your design by drawing in accessories such as belts, scarves, jewelry, hats or shoes. Choose items that are compatible with the overall theme of the garment. You can also add a hairstyle or facial expression to the drawing.

5. Select a fabric. Consider texture and flow of fabric in relation to your pattern. Obtain extra fabric as may arise with assembly, as well as embellishments such as buttons, lace, beads or embroidery floss.

6. Assemble your design. Once you know how to sew and create a pattern, build your design. You might want to use a dressmaking dummy to form a basic fit.

7. Make a portfolio. Keep designs in a folder or notebook for future inspiration. Consider carrying a sketchbook with you, so that you can take down ideas whenever they strike.

8. Promote your designs. When you're confident that your designs are good and your garments are wearable, consider submitting your work to sites like Fabricly. This can help you gain exposure and build your career.

YouTube Wants To Launch A Music Subscription Service

YouTube stepping up the game as a music provider. It’s probably one of the first places you hit up when you're looking to listen to a new track quickly.

The largest storehouse of streaming video, YouTube relies on selling banner ads on the site and running short clips before each video, giving a cut back to record companies.
YouTube plans to launch a music subscription service later this year, to allow people to listen to tracks online, and to possibly cut out the ads that precede each video for subscribers.

YouTube has released a statement that confirmed it was considering a subscription service, but noted that ads wouldn’t go away:

While we don’t comment on rumor or speculation, there are some content creators that think they would benefit from a subscription revenue stream in addition to ads, so we’re looking at that.Source

'Sony Ships 16 Million PS4's In 2013'

Sony wants to ship a massive 16 million Playstation 4 consoles in 2013, Digitimes reports. Foxconn and Pegatron Technology will produce the device. Shipment will start in august so the products will hit the stores before the holidays.

The number of 16 million sounds surreal. Probably Sony means the fiscal year 2013 wich ends in the spring of 2014. The Playstation 3 was sold 3,5 million times in the first six months. In the fiscal year 2010 Sony sold 14,3 million devices which is still the best year ever for Sony.
