It’s also rare that you should use Bartik as the base theme for your site (unless you want to — which is okay too). My three favourite base themes are <a href="http://drupal.org/project/ninesixty">NineSixty</a>, <a href="http://drupal.org/project/zen">Zen</a> and <a href="http://drupal.org/project/fusion">Fusion</a>.
