Well the media haven’t stopped harping on about the credit crunch for months now. Our economy is well and truly down the spout, loads of people are being laid off and the future is apparently bleak. At least there is some consolation, with retailers in such a sticky situation along with the rest of us we can expect some out of this world deals on Black Friday. The tradition of Black Friday has been running for years now and the term refers to the big sale weekend which kicks off the shopping frenzy in the run up to Christmas. Retailers are desperate to stay afloat long enough to reach the winter shopping craze and so they drop prices wildly.

You may be out of a job but that redundancy cheque will buy you a lot of electronics on Black Friday. Check out this website which is dedicated to highlighting Black Friday deals. Happy shopping!

There are loads of digital picture frames on the market now and this one from eStarling is wireless. It features an 8 inch LCD with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. It has a built in JPEG decoder which renders your images quickly and efficiently. Wi-Fi support gives you the option of sending photos from your mobile phone, accessing your home network or even sending photos by email or via an RSS photo feed.

It is easy to share your photos because each individual screen has a unique email address. You can of course still upload photos the old fashioned way, there is a USB connection and the frame supports CF, SD, MS, MMC and XD cards. The device has 128 MB of internal memory and you can store more online via the SeeFrame Live website. You can pick this up for around $150 but you may prefer to wait for the forthcoming eStarling frame with faster Wi-Fi at 802.11n and a larger size at 10.2 inches, it even has built in Twitter support and it can play videos, more on that soon.

Amazing as it may seem this is a real device dedicated to Twitter. For $99.95 you get the device and 6 months of free tweeting on Twitter (after which it costs $7.95 per month). Alternately you can buy one for $199.95 which apparently includes lifetime service. The device features a full QWERTY keyboard, a scroll wheel and a large color screen. It is always on for instant Twitter access and you can send tweets and direct messages at all hours.

The device can be recharged in a couple of hours and will last 4 to 5 days. It also features nationwide coverage so you can use it anywhere in the US. The amazing thing about the TwitterPeek is the fact it does absolutely nothing else but access Twitter. In these days of convergence devices where more and more services are being added to your mobile phone it takes some backward thinkers to create a Twitter only device.

The market in GPS devices offering various Sat Navs which give people turn-by-turn directions has been reacting dramatically to the news that Google will be offering the same functionality for free. Google have developed a live Sat Nav application for mobile phones and the forthcoming Motorola Droid will be the first phone to use the new app. Similar apps have traditionally been quite costly but Google have been developing their amazing free maps application on the web for quite some time and this was their next logical step.

The news has had an instant impact on the big GPS companies and both Garmin and TomTom suffered drops in share price. For Garmin it was almost 20% while TomTom’s drop was closer to 10%. This is terrific news for consumers and it is probably about time the market had a shake up. Mobile phones are becoming more and more diverse in terms of functionality and the Droid also looks set to be a real contender for the iPhone.

Shopping has been around for a very long time. It is safe to say that it has been something that people have been enjoying for a long time, as well. Personally, it is something that I find strangely relaxing. Many people like to save as much as they can when they are shopping. This makes Black Friday one of the best days to go out shopping when you want to save money. This year, I will be out shopping for Christmas presents and a new television if I can find one with good savings. For Black Friday 2009, there are many great deals to find.

For me, I have always found great deals on any type of electronic goods when out shopping on Black Friday. Although in the past, there have been great deals on clothing, toys and fine jewelry, which all have made great gifts for those special people. This year, there should be better discounts than there have been in the past. This is because of the economy. One of the things that you can expect stores to do is open up earlier than their normal store hours. This allows customers to get their deals without having to fight around normal store traffic. The main thing to think about is that before you go out there on Black Friday is to think out a plan of when and where you are going to shop.

This is another all-in-one office device which offers printing, faxing, scanning and copying. It features an easy to use touchscreen panel for setting up jobs. For printing it can handle up to 30 pages per minute in black and 28 pages per minute in color. It can also produce 4 x 6 inch photos in as little as 16 seconds. When it comes to scanning the device offers a resolution of 1,200 dpi at a maximum. When copying you can reduce to 50% of the original or increase to 400%. The printer should be able to handle about 2,500 pages per month and the copier around 1,250 pages per month.

It does come with built in wireless or you can plug it into your network if you prefer. It takes memory cards, it has an automatic document feeder and it supports double sided printing. Obviously aimed at home users this device doesn’t offer top of the range quality but it is a steal at just $109.99 on Amazon.

It seems that the Kindle and Sony reader devices for e-books are about to get a lot more competition.
It seems that the Kindle and Sony reader devices for e-books are about to get a lot more competition. There’s the Barnes & Noble Nook which is an Android based eReader with a 3.5 inch color touchscreen. It also supports Wi-Fi on the 802.11 b or g standard and AT&T 3G. It has 2 GB of internal storage, a microSD memory card slot, MP3 player functionality, built in mono speaker and headphone port. It also uses free eReader software which you can use on your Blackberry, iPhone or computer. You can pre-order the Nook for $259.

Now Creative has also thrown their hat in the ring as they make the move from MP3 players into the eReader market. Their device will also apparently have a touchscreen, support for SD memory cards and a text to speech function. Rather than just being a device for reading books they will tie in video and music functionality and seek to make it a multimedia accessory. There is no word on the exact specs or price just yet.

This is an easy, convenient way of recording high definition videos. It records MP4 files in the H.264 format and it can also capture 5 megapixel still shots. The resolution support offers high definition formats, 1440 x 1080 pixels, 1280 x 720 pixels or standard definition at 640 x 480 pixels. The lens swivels 270 degrees and there is a 1.8 inch LCD which also makes it easy to self shoot.

It seems surprising that this doesn’t already exist but the competition between phone companies has been fierce and each one has released their own brand specific phone charger. It is about time there was a universal phone charger and the good news is that the International Telecommunication Union have just approved one. Apparently a frightening 51,000 tonnes of phone chargers are produced each year and most people ditch their old charger when they change phones.

These new energy efficient chargers will last you much longer and help to reduce the environmental impact of mobile phones. The charger uses a micro-USB port. It is due to be released early in 2010 and as yet it is not compulsory for phone manufacturers to opt in but many of them have seen the sense and signed up. There is no doubt this is just a common sense idea and with a bit of luck all the big phone manufacturers will sign up soon.

In a broader sense, Broadband service refers to data transmission speeds of either 256 Kbps or 512 Kbps (Kilo bits per second) and above. This transmission can be either Download (from Net to User) or Upload (from User to Net). Broadband Connections can be given by using your phone for dial up facility, through data cables, Wi-Fi, Wimax, Satellites and so on. In today’s scenario, millions and millions of people across the UK have access to Broadband Connections. Millions more are on the threshold of getting connected.

Broadband Connection Speed is the time it takes for data or information transfer to your computer. It is measured in Kilo bits per second (Kbps) or Mega bits per second (Mbps). If your usage is less, 512 Kbps speed may be sufficient. If your usage is more, many internet service providers give you upto 2mb broadband speed in general. There are still higher speeds available as per specific needs. Downloads refer to data transfer of web pages, emails, videos and music files with limits measured in Gb (Gigabytes). Fair Usage Policies involve heavy users cutting down on usage during peak hours of internet traffic.

Broadband Costs depend on factors such as speed, download limits, extras, offers and packages. Broadband Security generally involves firewalls, anti spyware, parental controls and Email security.

Broadband Extras include special packages, additional benefits and special security features such as anti spam filters for emails and anti viruses. Wi-Fi or Wireless Broadband, refers to the regular broadband without wires or the usual ethernet cables. Networking Broadband comes into focus when you have a large number of computers to be connected from a single broadband connection, technically known as LAN or Local Area Network and is very useful for business establishments. Broadband Television uses the IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) to bring internet content right into your TV screen. And VoIP Calls are of two categories, the first one being the computer to computer calls and the second one being the computer to phone calls. Broadband Technology is the media tool of the future also!

What, you may well ask, is so magic about the new Apple Magic Mouse? Well it features multi touch technology just like the iPhone. Not only can you click but you can gesture and swipe as well. The entire shell of the mouse can be clicked and you can scroll along the top of the mouse or swipe with your finger to scroll down web pages or flick through files. You can also double click anywhere. Apple claims it makes everything faster and easier.

The device also has a laser tracking engine so it will work on any surface. It supports Bluetooth for wireless use and it will work with any Apple Mac computer or laptop on OS X V10.5.8 or later. The sleek and ambidextrous design hits the usual high standards we’ve come to expect from Apple and this low profile mouse looks very comfortable to use. Quality never comes cheap though and this mouse will cost you $69.

In this ever increasing and fast growing world of Internet, Broadband Connections are here to stay. The erstwhile conventional dial up connections were quite slow in terms of connectivity, data transfer volume and the bandwidth apart from crippling the phone lines and therefore, they have been quite successfully replaced by the Broadband Connections that has speeds many times faster in terms of connectivity, data transfer, downloads, bandwidth levels, networking features and the quality aspects.

To be precise, it is quite a difficult and daunting task to single out specific Broadband Providers in the UK since different users will have different requirements in different places at different times. We can, however, classify Broadband Connections into two separate categories. The first category is the Home Broadband which is better in terms of speeds and data transfers. The second category is the Mobile Broadband which is better in terms of mobility and connectivity.

Broadband Providers in the UK have their presence in plenty. In order to compete with the other providers and to impress customers, they offer various kinds of deals and discounts. And finally, the customer, more often than not, is more or less confused and coaxed into choosing the best connection.

Therefore, it all boils down to the individual to analyze and judge his basic requirements in a Broadband Connection while selecting the best provider. One needs to look at basic factors such as speed, usage limits, contract length, connection fees, add-ons and extras that influence the individual’s judgement and analysis.

To sum it up crisply, the Broadband Provider who can fulfil the individuals exact requirements at the best possible price is the Best Broadband Internet Connection Provider. At this juncture, the Best Provider also has to explain in detail any technical problems, exact speeds and the usage policies to the customer. In today’s Internet and Mobile Market, it is quite easy for the customer to switch over from one existing provider to another new provider. Therefore, the Best Provider needs to be genuine as well as efficient to earn credibility and respect from customers. Still, the Customer is King in selection of the Best Provider, depending on his or her own judgement.

This is an all-in-one solution for a home business. The device works as a printer, a fax machine, a scanner and a photocopier. It offers top print speeds around the 30 page per minute mark. There is a 2 line LCD for reviewing jobs and using the printer controls but you can always bypass that and print directly from your networked machines using the software provided. It does support wireless on the 802.11g standard. The printer holds 250 sheets and it supports double-sided printing to save paper. There is a 35 page automatic document feeder for fax, scan or copy jobs.

The fax machine has a 100 page memory and you can store up to 100 speed dial numbers. The maximum scan resolution is 2400 dpi and the maximum size is 8.5 x 11.7 inches. The copier can enlarge or reduce originals producing 25% up to 400% in size. The printer can handle around 7,000 pages per month in terms of workload. It currently costs $139.99 which is a bargain price.

It looks like the upcoming Motorola Droid phone fancies itself as an iPhone beater. Verizon have launched an anti-iPhone advertising campaign which lists all of things that the iPhone can’t do and points out that the new Droid can. The new smart phone runs Google’s Android 2.0 operating system. The advert is seriously negative though, they just list a bunch of iPhone flaws and don’t even show the new phone.

The list of one-upmanship includes a proper keyboard, 5 megapixel camera, multi-tasking, UI customization, open source development and a replaceable battery. Of course Apple have just announced record profits based largely on soaring iPhone sales and the Droid will hardly be the first smart phone to crown itself an iPhone beater. You can check out the ad at the Droid Does website.
