Charles Kirkland has launched SEO Codebreaker. I've been long following Charles from a long-time and I whole-heartedly endorse his products because they've genuinely helped me make more traffic and hence money.

Internet Marketing has covered a lot of ground lately mostly because of its low-barrier nature. Everyone and their dog is marketing online but not making a single cent. "Why so?", you'd ask.

One Affiliate Marketing Blog to be on your must-read list

If you are a seasoned afiliate marketer or even if you aren't seasoned but just starting out then you've got lots of blogs in your RSS reader. You subscribe to countless blogs for that one secret tactic that promises millions of dollars for one single AdWords campaign.

Many ~~boast~~ inspire you by flashing checks from affiliate networks but none show you a definitive guide to earning money from affiliate marketing. Principles that always work in real-world and in affiliate marketing are rarely if ever focused mostly because most of the wannabe affiliate marketers don't want to work and they don't like reading blogs that deal with reality. And one such blog that closely deals with reality is CashTactics. If you're planning to choose affiliate marketing as your full-time source of income then you've got to read every post on this blog and also all the posts in the CashTactics forums.

I was first referred to the FREE Reports page on CashTactics through a friend of mine and since then I've been closely following the blog through RSS and also through the email subscription to CashTactics.

Google launches Google Chrome - an Open Source web browser

Today, Google launched Google Chrome a spanking new, open-source web browser in over 100 countries. This comes when Microsoft has been beta testing its new Internet Explorer 8.

One of the features that Google has introduced is an auto-suggest typ of a feature just like Firefox 3 but with an important twist in which it lets you are suggested websites from the web.

The Google Chrome is a small file and is lightning fast and that is why it was created. One of the disadvantages I see is that now Google will have more data on

What websites we visit
When do we visit those websites
How much time do we spend on those websites
What are our website using patterns
It'll have a better user heatmap information

So even if it has some cool new features, I'll be beware of it. Atleast until I am addicted to it like all of Google's services.

If you ask me what my favorite affiliate network is I am not going to tell you CJ just because it has a lot of offers and everyone and his dog has signed up at them. In fact I don't promote any offer through CJ! Why? Because their tracking sucks big time. Most of the time I spend within the CJ interface is trying to guess what is the function of the buttons and links. If you're planning to make it in the affiliate marketing game then your most powerful weapon is TRACKING.

You can precisely calculate how much you'll be paying per click and in return what you'll be earning per click. I generated my first ever $100 with Pepperjam (screenshot below - although I've smudged it so that no one copies my offer) and it was my first ever try with PPC to Affiliate marketing. I've had managed some PPC accounts before but never did PPC to Affiliate marketing.

Today, let me tell you about an interesting feature within the Pepperjam Network console that is so unique and valuable that if you have your ears close to the ground you'll literally be banking every time with minimal effort!

The whole Pepperjam Network interface is custom built and is much easier to navigate than your usual DirectTrack software enabled networks. I'll discuss the PJN interface in detail sometime later. As soon as you log in you get the following screen :

New Blogger Dashboard = Easier Blogging = More Posts!

I've always dreaded the Blogger dashboard - although good for newbies I've found it immensely dull and repelling. One of the reasons I would procrastinate writing posts is because editing posts was one of the most irritating thing with Blogger.

Today while browsing through the Blogger dashboard I found the Blogger Draft link for new dashboard. I generally don't click the links that Blogger provides within the dashboard but this time I somehow did and I am happy 'bout it!

What I find is -

A Sleek interface and dashboard - with just 3 recent blogs that've been updated. It is a relief to not see so many of my useless blogs all over!
A better and AJAXified editor - it's like a zephyr! If you've been using Google Docs then you'll be familiar with it.
A better, soothing blue Blogger logo - I've been offended with the shiny, bright orange (don't know why!)

My Experience with Microsoft adCenter

I've been mainly driving pay per click traffic from Google AdWords and sometimes through Yahoo! Search Marketing - and that too when I feel that I've covered all of the traffic that Google provides. I've been keeping a close watch on Microsoft adCenter ever since it was in Beta - but because I read that the system was too incompetent and that keywords automatically got disapproved within adCenter, I was a little reluctant on trying out adCenter - until now!

I finally signed up with adCenter. The signup process is pretty straight forward and I had no problem getting signed up.

The User Interface

While some PPC advertisers may have complained about the weak UI that adCenter provides - its acceptable that it has not yet matured enough as is AdWords.
And to be true, it is not that difficult for search marketers, who I assume are technically savvy enough to figure out on their own.
Although at times it may be confusing to navigate to your keywords or tweak settings for your ad groups.

Reporting

I've had issues with reporting in adCenter. The main console doesn't update reporting and I contacted my adCenter representative regarding this issue. I've been told that it is working perfectly and that it might be a glitch. I think it is because I've tried it with Internet Explorer and also Firefox and I've cleared all the cookies and cache.

As you can see above in the 2 images, one shows a total impressions for the campaign to be greater than 1152 and on the other hand that same ad group keywords show little to no impressions for majority of keywords. That's kind of strange and that really pisses me of as I am more of a stats junkie and why not? I am paying for all those clicks and that certainly boils down to certain CPM that I am paying to Microsoft so why can't I see the keywords for which my ads were shown?

Support

One of the things that differentiates men from boys in the PPC game is the amount of documentation the search engine has provided and Microsoft certainly has a lot to do in this regard. If they hope to take on Google in the PPC game they've got to improve on their documention.

You can also watch the flash tutorials but watching an 8 minute flash movie for understanding a tiny feature is too much of a time committment for me.

They've got great support mechanism through email too! And guess what? They personally address your issues and I think it's just lately that you can also contact them through phone too! Its great because I don't see that anywhere on AdWords! Overall, their support just simply rocks and I just hope they get their adCenter beast to rock just as well.

Traffic Quality

I can't really say too much about their traffic quality right now because as you see I am not getting the right stats. But regarding just the amount of traffic adCenter lags behind. For the keywords that receive about 40K impressions a day on Google, I've just manages to get about 1152 in a week.

Maybe people aren't searching for that term on Live? Certainly possible!

My Overall Impressions of adCenter

So this covers my first impressions on Microsoft adCenter. I haven't done a thorough review but thats because I don't have all the reports and I will get that sorted out and post the updates.

Google PageRank Updates

Google has been updating the toolbar PageRank for a couple of days now. Many bloggers and website owners saw the change. Some saw a boost while many others saw a decline in PageRank.

DewDropSEM's PageRank dropped down from 4 to 0...yes a ZERO!

Matt Cutts announced it on his blog that Google will be updating the toolbar PageRank in the next few days, so better watch out for your pagerank.

For many days now I've been procrastinating over regularly updating the blog with useful (not using the word quality for a simple reason that it is way overused!) posts and I think it's Google's way of reimposing that upon me.

As you can see some of the previous posts have been about various contests over the blogosphere. But now I will concentrate mainly on PPC and Affiliate Marketing!

OK, recently I havn't been blogging because there is so much to be done and so little time to manage everything. So starting from today, I'll be reviewing some of the best blog picks who haven't yet received their fair share of publicity that they rightly deserve.

Geiger

Geiger is run by Jason aka Jay Geiger. Surprisingly, Jay started the blog in March 2006 and he is yet unnoticed in the blogosphere. Almost all posts by him are real-life and what impresses me is his sense of simplicity of explaining everything without jargonizing the PPC talk.

Jay is also a very humble blogger and replies to comments almost always.

If you visit Jay's blog you're going to find a LOT of interesting posts like landing pages get more clicks than direct linked campaigns, split testing ads and his testing of google image ads. I am sure you're going to take a long time reading all of his insightful posts.

His experiences with Kontera is also very eye opening. One of the best series on his blog that I really enjoyed were his selecting an azoogle offer to setting up and tracking and reporting of the whole campaign.

So Geiger.com is the first blog in Budding Affiliates Blog and its worth watching out for!

Why are negative keywords so important

Almost all PPC engines allow you to specify keyword match types like broad, exact, phrase and often forgotten negative keyword matching (or un-matching!). The negative keyword is given there for a reason and I predict that hardly 10% of the PPC population may be actually using it and saving a little fortune.
I have been recently managing a relatively large PPC account for a merchant and I am really shocked to see that there is literally not a single negative keyword in addition to the unorganized campaigns. Now, the offers that this merchant is managing has a lot of tire-kickers who look for free alternative and aren't going to give a damn if it costs anything.
Come on people, negative keywords can save you a hell lot of money if you start using it now. Don't wait another second...go NOW and add some irrelevant negative keywords.

How Many AdWords Accounts

How many AdWords accounts should I have is a pretty popular question among those that are new as well as people who have a little experience with AdWords. First of all let me explain why you should have only 1 AdWords account.

When you have a single AdWords account, you retain all the account history and if you are getting consistently good CTRs and good-to-great quality scores then Google will presume a healthy performance for your campaign and it will probably have some (good) effect on your launched campaign.
Believe me...managing multiple AdWords accounts can get really time-consuming. Logging in and out each time to check stats for different accounts will probably crush your productivity.
Google doesn't allow multiple accounts for same keywords and they might even ban you forever if they find it out ..which in this case they probably can and will.
Although, AdWords Editor is an alternate choice you will have to download all the data from all accounts again and again. Little less boring but not really helpful.

Instead, I suggest that you get a My Client Center account where you can manage upto 1000 (yes, a thousand!) accounts from a single login and interface. It is a lot easier to access reports from different accounts.

BlogRush - The new way to get FREE blog traffic

BlogRush, a blog syndication network just launched yesterday. I've already signed up and put the shiny little widget that works well. What it does it this

You sign-up and choose your appropriate blog category
Put the javascript code on your blog
Whenever you get a pageview you get 1 credit which means that your blog will be shown as an impression
The more referrals you have the more impressions you'll get in your chosen category blogs (upto 10 levels!) so although thats not targeted traffic it is at least related to whom you want to target.

The widget is really un-intrusive and has your referral code embedded into it so that you get the credit when someone clicks and signs-up. Seems a nice deal to me specially when the network has just been launched so theres plenty of room to get referrals and thereby traffic.

Facebook goes Cost per Click

Facebook recently launched its cost-per-click version of its Flyer ads. The new CPC version is named Pro and it is talked about a lot among webmaster forums and news sites as every other thing related to Facebook. I think the CPC version is not all that functional when you see about it. There is no way you can determine who clicked and advanced reporting tools. Now coming to the analytics part most of the marketers wouldn't give it a piece of attention until Facebook gets it done right.
But overall it is better than the more conventional and outdated CPM model where you pay just for being there. The major discrepancy I found is that the maximum daily budget is capped to $50! So, Facebook doesn't want to make more money....WHAT? Maybe they're just testing their infrastructure. And yes, I haven't yet tested it and don't plan to do so anytime soon.
