I love this, Dave. I’m so happy for you all. Being a parent is the best.

Your post resonated with me since I went through the same feelings when I took a leave. I found it to be incredibly rewarding to have that time with our kiddos.

Kudos to Edelman for seeing the value in this too. It’s good to see more companies adopting similar policies. I only hope many more do the same, especially for those less fortunate to not have the option at all.

That photo in your post is adorable too. Happy for you!

So I am responsible for knowing the mind of every single person who hears what I say?
That would be like having a super power.
When a person speaks it is never about the listener. The speaker is responsible for trying to convey his idea, but these days there will always be listeners who are consciously determined to filter what they hear through their own perceptions and worldview, just as there have always been listeners who are too lack-witted to understand what is being said.

I partially agree with what you said. But I believe the meme that you refer to has more to do with people hard stance beliefs rather than how you get the message across. There are some people whom no matter how you explain it will continue to believe what they believe because they want to believe what they believe. Hence the I cannot control what you hear. For example there are opponents of the BLM following that say All Lives Matter and not just Black Lives. And I have been down this road many times with BLM members and most feel as if they are entitled to something. So they will strongly stand by this belief no matter how fallible it is.
