Why set goals? Having goals and desires are so important. Knowing what you want gives [&hellip

Why set goals? Having goals and desires are so important. Knowing what you want gives you something to strive towards and can give your life meaning.

Why write down goals? Because writing down your goals they become more real to you. They are there in black and white. Writing the goal down is you making a commitment to yourself to achieving your goal. Also it helps remind you exactly what you are wanting to achieve, so you are always in a position to know exactly what you are wanting to achieve.

step 1.

GOALS

Write down your Goals, to help you with this ask yourself out loud “what do I want?” keep asking yourself that to get everything you want on to paper if you think you are done look at your paper and ask yourself “do I have any more goals?” if you have more write them down now or if you are really done go to the next step.

step 2.

WHY

Write down for each of the goals at least one reason WHY you want it, to help ask your self “WHY do I want this?” keep asking yourself that to get every why on to paper, if you can write down more then one, good do so, now if you think you are done look at your paper and ask yourself “do I have any more reason WHY I want this?” if you have more write them down now or if you are really done go to the next step.

step 3.

FEELING

Write down for each of the goals what FEELINGS will you get from Achieving your goals, because it is the feeling behind the goal that you want even more then the goal, to help with this ask yourself “what feeling will I get from the achievement of my goals” keep asking yourself that to get the real reason you want it, if you think you are done now look at all the feeling you want and ask yourself “can I get this feeling now?” if so write down how or if you are done go to the next step.

step 4.

What’s in it for ME

Write down what you are getting from your goals or what I call it having fun and getting paid, to help with this look at your paper with your goals on it and remembers what you want from that write down what you are getting, if you are having a hard time with writing it down then ask yourself this “what’s in it for ME” keep say it out loud to yourself and write down what you are getting.

step 5.

The end date

The end date you have in mind should be realistic. There’s no point picking a random date out of the sky, it has to be feasible. You can be flexible and bring your goal completion date forward if you notice your progress towards your goal is going quicker than you anticipated. Or you can make the goal end date later if it is taking you more time than you expected.

Now that you know your end date you can break it down into many smaller goals. Now you have a Plan of Action and know what you have to do daily, weekly and monthly.

Provided every day you do what is required you will easily reach your goal. This alone can give an increased feeling of self worth and self esteem. Every day you are moving closer and closer to your goal and this is a great feeling that you are achieving things every day.

Write down what you need to do each day if this helps you. Crossing off your tasks as you go can be satisfying.

step 6.

Plan of Action

Write down your Plan of Action to get your goals and what can help you with this is to ask yourself “what are the steps to get my goals?” keep asking yourself that and write down the answers to get your plan if you got your Plan of Action down, now act on your plans and get your goals.

Again remember to keep it Fun and Simple.

Hi, my name is Dorian Howell I’m 21 years old & I’m a men. This [&hellip

Hi, my name is Dorian Howell I’m 21 years old & I’m a men.

This post is what playing chess & racquetball have done for me.

First. I want to thanks Chess.com & chesscube.com for giving me away to play chess online in real time.

I’m not that good at chess yet, but I play chess almost everyday now,

my rating on chess.com is Bullet 1337, Blitz 1241, Standard 1022, Member Since: 3/18/12

& on chesscube.com my rating is 1557 that because I only play like 12 times & won 8 of them, Member Since: 5/3/12

I started playing chess because I love playing racquetball & in a video with Fran Davis a racquetball coach, she said that playing racquetball is like playing chess at 100 miles per hour. Because of that moment I started playing chess to improve my racquetball skills & now I can said I got better at both racquetball & chess.

Here’s where I started in both racquetball & chess

I was a racquetball newbie, I maybe still a racquetball newbie to some people, but I’m now a good racquetball newbie!!

From newbie to level C if not C+ or B

How I got better at racquetball was by reading Championship Racquetball
By Fran Davis, Jason Mannino This book is awesome it talks about everything from serving to return of serve & a lot more! Next thing that help me get better was by playing with people that was better then me. Last thing was drilling my shots by myself. I will keep trying to improve my skills.

Here’s my first video of me playing racquetball

Here’s a quick overall of the racquetball divisions:

this is from racquetballchallenge.com

Newbie, D, C, B, A, Open, Pro, God. I think they maybe one or two more before God level. (note God level is not a real division)

Chess I sign up with chess.com first then sign up for chesscube

I like how chess.com has lessons everyday to help improve my skills & that why I like it more then chesscube, but one thing I really like about chesscube is when I play a game & I’m white after I make my first move, black’s time starts moving, because chess.com I make my move & black’s time don’t start moving until they make a move that gives black more time to think before moving & in a 1 minutes game that can give them the won.

Now where I was & where I’m now

Everyone who signs up with chess.com you start with a rating of 1200 & chesscube you start with a rating of 1500. here’s my history with chess like most people I play with my family when I was younger, but all I known was how the chess pieces can move & that to won I must capture their King before they capture my King, I didn’t known about En passant or any real strategy’s & tactics before starting playing chess online.

Like I said my rate was 1200, but after loss a lot of games my real rate was around 600 & 700 playing 5 minutes games only after watching videos on youtube, I start playing lower timed games, I still remember the first time I played a 3 minutes game & thinking oh my g*d losing on time because I was thinking to long before making a move & my move being bad as well! lol

How I got better at chess was by: Playing chess daily.

Watching videos on youtube, my favorite youtube channels are: wwwChesscom, ChessNetwork & ChessQueen

I like wwwChesscom for Bullet Brawls & teaching videos. this channel is Chess.com youtube channel.

I watched ChessNetwork videos on Tournament game play, Jerry is the man & by watching Jerry’s Bullet Tournament videos made me start playing bullet games.

ChessQueen is 12th Women’s World Chess Champio Alexandra Kosteniuk

I find it good to mix it up because ChessQueen shows longer games.

I’m now trying to play longer games to improve my self more maybe someday I will become a Grandmaster! who knows.

How Chess & Racquetball improve my life

Playing racquetball is like running & burns up to 800 calories a hour

I have loss 40 pounds since starting to use racquetball for my cardio workout.

Now for chess I feel that playing chess help me think clear about making decisions & making them quicker.

Date 2/12/13
