Bestiary: Leah

Not much is known about Leah, only that she narrates the Diablo III cinematic trailer and appears to be either an assistant or apprentice to Deckard Cain. It's speculated from her screentime in the trailer that she will play a consistent part in progressing the storyline, aiding the player along their journey alongside or largely in place of the aging Deckard Cain.

Uses frontal blades to slash and launches explosive projectiles that disperse in a cluster around the player. Also may release a sticky substance that impedes player movement. [Information on this NPC is based off of concept art, it may or may not be in the game, and details of its moves may change]

Bestiary: Fallen Shaman

Only the bravest and smartest of the Fallen attain the coveted training required to rise to the position of Shaman. Their mastery of fire is evident in the balls of flame that they cast to incinerate their enemies. Their magical abilities also allow them to raise their Fallen brethren from the dead, making the Shaman especially dangerous when traveling with large groups of Fallen.

Cowardice appears to be one of the chief features of this species, and they quickly retreat at the sight of one of their brethren falling in battle. Although Fallen seek to congregate together, so far only small encampments have been found, with no obvious overall organization.

Diablo spent two centuries slowly working to corrupt the Soulstone that imprisoned him. In time, he was able to extend his influence into the surrounding area and corrupt both King Leoric and his archbishop, Lazarus. The King proved too strong to fully control, so the Demon took possession of his son, Prince Albrecht. Diablo then began to shape an outpost of Hell within the catacombs that ran beneath the town of Tristram. By spreading terror into the surrounding countryside, the Demon was able to attract many heroes who came to cleanse the land of evil. By the time the strongest of these heroes reached this goal, though, he had become fully influenced by the will of Diablo. In his twisted state, this adventurer believed that the only way to fully control the Demon was to plunge the shard of the Soulstone into his own head. This, of course, was exactly what Diablo had planned as the Demon now had an even stronger body to use to find his brothers and complete his ultimate plan, though ultimately foiled in Act IV of the storyline in Diablo II. 20 years later great evil once again stirs in the world of Sanctuary. It's unclear what role Diablo will play in the game, if any, though he did APPEAR to have been shown at the climax of the cinematic trailer (it is largely believed that it was Diablo, but unconfirmed).

Bestiary: Tyrael

Tyrael, an archangel, is one of the main characters seen in the popular game Diablo II. He is depicted as an angel whose face is hidden by the darkness of his hood and never revealed throughout the game. He has large tendril-like white-glowing wings and is garbed in brown and gold robes with plated armor. Tyrael is one of only three named angels shown in the game; Hadriel is found in the River of Flame, in Act IV, on the player's path to destroy Diablo, and Izual is a former (corrupted) archangel. During the end of Act V in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, Tyrael destroys the corrupted Worldstone. He does this to prevent what he believes to be impending catastrophe at the cost of unforeseeable consequences to Sanctuary. It is believed that Tyrael is the angel pictured on the official Diablo III website. Thus the events following the Worldstone's destruction and Tyrael himself will likely play a major role in the game.
