1) The Golden Jubilee Diamond The

The largest faceted diamond in the world is the Golden Jubilee Diamond, and was found in the Premier mine in South Africa.

Intially named the “Unnamed Brown”, this diamond is the ugly ducking in our fairy tale. The original uncut stone’s brownish-yellow color was unappealing, and the poor ugly brown diamond was forced to be processed under experimental tools and techniques while the other brilliantly shining, white diamonds laughed at it. But then, just like the real ducking transforms into a beautiful swan, our Unnamed Brown rose from the ashes as a yellow-brown diamond in a fire rose cushion cut, glittering and showing off it’s brilliance while the others gaped at it open mouthed.

The Golden Jubilee was presented to the King of Thailand in 1997 for his Golden Jubilee – the 50th anniversary of his coronation. It is now located in the Royal Thai Palace as part of the crown jewels.

The best of the diamonds come from South Africa. Indeed, The Cullinan diamond is the largest rough gem-quality diamond ever found, at 3,106.75 carats (621.35 g), and was also found in the Premier mine in South Africa owned by Thomas Cullinan.

It has been cut into 105 diamonds, the largest of them being the pear shaped Cullinan I or the Great Star of Africa, weighing 530.2 carats (106.04 g). It is a perfectly clear, completely flawless, and simply breathtaking miracle of nature. It was presented to King Edward the VII and later mounted into a scepter becoming part of the British Crown Jewels.

3) The Incomparable Diamond.
407.48 carats (81.496 g)
Estimated Value: $23 million

Yet another African diamond, this dazzling stone is also yellow-brown in color. Although it was quite large when discovered, (890 carats (180 g) but it was cut into a smaller piece so that it had fewer internal flaws. Its unusual triangular shape elicited a new imaginary term, a “triolette.”, and was labelled “Internally Flawless” by the GTA. From the fragments, fourteen small gems were created and set into a gold ornament stand.

Once in my hand, I thought “Hmm.. what exciting android apps to download” … when my gaming instincts were awakened by the realization that there would be hundreds of free games available! The mysterious ninja sound effects add intrigue to the game.
