I uninstalled Flash for Safari, per Gruber’s instructions. After a while, I got tired of trying to get Chrome to start every time I encountered a Flash page, so I relented and tried to re-install Flash.

Wireless@SG is, frankly, pretty awesome - it’s a government-driven initiative to provide free wireless access points in most large public buildings in Singapore. Considering the high density of buildings, this means one is never too far from a hotspot. So yeah, great service.

SingTel, a local phone and internet company, is one of the providers of this service.

As we’ve seen before on this site (1, 2), SingTel is madly and irrationally in love with the inappropriate use of Flash. In this case, they sent me (and presumably other iPhone subscribers) an SMS asking me to download the SingTel Wireless@SG Connect app - sure, no problem there. This SMS also provided a link to go to the above website, which has its contents almost entirely buried in Flash, for more information.

Brilliant as ever, SingTel. Keep it up, and this site will never run out of material.

One More Production

This is the company that made the brilliant short video, Pixels - thoroughly recommended for anyone who’s played video games in the 80s.

Pity about how the site looks with ClickToFlash enabled, though - all that Flash really seems a little unnecessary. The top icons are just small Flash animations (which can be replaced with CSS animations), and the Flash on the video thumbnail on mouse-over is for rendering the video title in a special font (which can be accomplished with font-face - see Google’s just-announced font API).
