Adding Users to Existing Groups in Ubuntu (Oneiric Ocelot)

Hi have been working in Virtual Box, this days and need to add my user to the vboxusers group. I was going to do it graphically, and suddenly I notice that the application I use for doing this job it disappear. :(
So I have to use the CLI

If you know the group just do this
Steps

sudo usermod -a -G GROUP USER
where -a means append. Add the user to the supplementary group(s). Use only with the -G option. If you want to read more about the usermod do
man usermod

If you don't know the group
Steps

groupmode 2 TIMES
sudo usermod -a -G GROUP USER
If you see the only difference is that you type groupmode and press tab 2 times and all the groups will be display.

Algunos puntos al momento de trabajar con MYSQL

Estoy haciendo un pequeno programa, de manejo de horarios.
Decide usar MYSQL para dicha apliacion. Aqui voy a escribir algunos puntos importantes que tengo que tener en cuenta al momento de manejar mysql.

Estoy usando como sistema operativo Ubuntu 11.10. Si desean saber como instalar mysql pueden ver este link (https://help.ubuntu.com/11.04/serverguide/C/mysql.html)

Comando para ingresar a nuestra base de datos

mysql -u usuario -p
donde usuario es el usuario que ustedes crearon o el usuario rooot, que es el que se crea por default. -p indica que espera el parametro de la contrasena.(Password en ingles)

Comando para crear la base de datos

CREATE DATABASE NOMBRE

Comando para acceder a la base de datos

use nombre
Donde nombre es el nombre de la base de datos

Comando para crear una table con llave primaria

CREATE TABLE nombre_table (id INT NOT NULL, nombre VARCHAR (20) NOT NULL, apellido VARCHAR (25) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (id))ENGINE=INNODB;

Si quieren saber mas sobre ENGINE=INNODB Pueden leer la documentacion de mysql (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/innodb-storage-engine.html)

Comando para crear table con llave foranea

CREATE TABLE consumidor (fecha DATE NOT NULL, hora TIME NOT NULL, codigo_id INT NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (fecha, hora), FOREIGN KEY (codigo_id) REFERENCES nombre_table (id) ON UPDATE CASCADE ON DELETE RESTRICT) ENGINE=INNODB;

Supongamos que tenemos nuestra base de datos en un archivo te texto y deseamos importar la informacion. Este es el comando

LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE '/home/diego/NetBeansProjects/a.txt' INTO TABLE nombre_table;

Instalando Pintos

Posiblemente saben que la documentación esta en la pagina web de pintos.
Pero tenemos dudas, al momento que seguimos la instrucciones. Este tutorial esta basado en Ubuntu 10.04, en mi opinión personal no importa la versión de Ubuntu, o cualquier distribución basada en debian debería de funcionar. Si lo prueban me avisan.

Paso 1. Vamos a instalar unas cosas, para eso vamos a usar la terminal y escribimos los siguientes comandos

sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-dev xorg-dev
sudo apt-get install wx-common wx2.8-headers libwxbase2.8-0 libwxgtk2.8-dev
sudo apt-get install libncurses5-dev

Paso 2. Abrirl el gestor de paquetes synaptic

Paso 3. En la casilla de buscar, escribimos las siguientes librerias, y le damos instalar a cada una de ellas.

gcc
build-essential
perl
gdb
qemu
patch
libsocket

Paso 4. IMPORTANTE Hya un problema al momento cuando instalamos libsocket. Tenemos que hacer un linkeo. ¿Porque? Pintos la busca en otro lugar, y nuestro sistema la puso en otro. Entonces en la terminal escribimos el siguiente codigo

sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libsocket.so.0 /usr/lib/libsocket.so
Para verificar si esta bueno, escribimos en la terminal ls -lh /usr/lib/libsocket*

Paso 5. Descargamos el bochs version 2.2.6. Aqui.
Descargamos el pintos. AQUI Lo descomprimos.
Lo descromprimos. En la terminal nos movemos a la carpeta donde lo tenemos instalado y vamos a parchear el pintos.

cd /directorio/bochs-2.2.6
IMPORTANTE PINTOSDIR es la direccion donde descomprimos el pintos, no lo vayan a pegar, tienen que poner la direccion de la carpeta pintos.

patch -p1 < $PINTOSDIR/src/misc/bochs-2.2.6-big-endian.patch

patch -p1 < $PINTOSDIR/src/misc/bochs-2.2.6-jitter.patch

patch -p1 < $PINTOSDIR/src/misc/bochs-2.2.6-triple-fault.patch

patch -p1 < $PINTOSDIR/src/misc/bochs-2.2.6-ms-extensions.patch

patch -p1 < $PINTOSDIR/src/misc/bochs-2.2.6-solaris-tty.patch

patch -p1 < $PINTOSDIR/src/misc/bochs-2.2.6-page-fault-segv.patch

patch -p1 < $PINTOSDIR/src/misc/bochs-2.2.6-paranoia.patch

patch -p1 < $PINTOSDIR/src/misc/bochs-2.2.6-solaris-link.patch

Ahora la instalacion de bochs
En la carpeta de bochs escribimos el siguiente comando

./configure --enable-gdb-stub --with-x --with-x11 --with-therm --with-nogui
make
sudo make install

Y el bochs esta listo.

Paso 6. Y ahora seguimos con el pintos

Entramos a la carpeta donde tenemos pintos. y hacemos un cd
cd /directorio/pintos/src/utils
make
sudo cp backtrace /usr/bin
sudo cp pintos /usr/bin
sudo cp pintos-gdb /usr/bin
sudo cp pintos-mkdisk /usr/bin
sudo cp pintos-set-cmdline /usr/bin
sudo cp squish-pty /usr/bin
sudo cp squish-unix /usr/bin
sudo cp Pintos.pm /usr/bin
sudo chmod +rx /usr/bin/pintos

Con esto deberia de estar listo. Probarlo?
Le damos un cd a la carpeta de pintos

cd /directoriopintos/threads
make
esto nos crea una carpeta build.
cd build
y corremos el siguiente ejemplo
pintos run alarm-multiple
Esto nos deberia de mostrar una imagen como la siguiente

Some MIPS 32 Exercise

Finally my semester at university is over.
This was one of the topics we saw on on Computer Organization and Design course.
I will live you the link where you could found some exercise of the ones I saved (I did accidentally shift delete to the folder of the course :( ) HERE

All exercise are done in MIPS 32 and all the exercise are solve in a recursive way. If you are beginning on MIPS, they are very useful :)

Install Office 2007 in Ubuntu

Long time ago, I was wondering if it was possible to install the office 2007 in ubuntu, and after some investigation I discovered that it was possibles.
Steps

The first things we have to do is to install the latest wine version. We download it here
After that we install the wine tricks. We download it here
We execute the winetrick command and its going to appear this window
We have to select the fallowing and we click Accept.
winetricks dotnet11
*winetricks gdiplus
*winetricks vb3run
*winetricks vb4run
*winetricks vb5run
*winetricks vb6run
*winetricks msxml3
*winetricks msxml4
*winetricks msxml6
*winetricks riched20
*winetricks riched30

*winetricks vcrun2005sp1
and after we have it ready. Here its a picture :)

Instalar Office 2007 en Ubuntu usando Wine

Primero lo que tenemos que hacer es instalar la ultima versión del wine. Aqui
Después descargamos el winetricks. Aquí
Abrimos la consola y escribimos el siguiente comando: winetricks
Despues selecionamos los siguientes

Solucionar “Servicio de suscripción activa” Blackberry o Reload Software: 552

Este post va para todas las personas que tienen un blackberry y tienen problemas para actualizar el SO. Se preguntaran problemas? Si solo es de darle click a next y listo. Pero resulta que pueden tener ciertos problemitas. Como cuales?

1. Cuando le dan click a Actualizar nos sale este error “Servicio de suscripción activa” y se dan cuenta que al momento que entramos a blackberry.com/services no sale nuestro pais. :(

2. Tenemos un error de reload software 552

En estos casos buscando en google encontre muchas soluciones las cuales ninguna me funcionaron lo cual me llevo a borrar todos mis datos :(

Que ocupamos?

El Sistema Operativo para nuestro celular. Donde lo conseguiemos? AQUI (Buscamos nuestra compañia provedora y listo)
La ultima version del Desktop Software. AQUI

Ahora que hacemos?

Facil, instalamos el sistema operativo(Es da darle doble click siguiente y siguiente). Despues reiniciamos la computadora, abrimos el Desktop Software nos aparecera la opcion de instalar el SO. Y el mensaje desaparecio. Asi de facil, nada de otras aplicaciones raras que aparecen en la mayoria de tutoriales que salen en google.

Ubuntu Honduras on TV

Hi guys
Well finally I could write this article, almost one month ago, exactly Febraury 5 2011 Ubuntu Honduras did an event called the Ubuntu Hack. But what is the cool thing about this?? Well Campus TV is a national tv channel and with a program they have called e-comerce. The guys of e-comerce went to the event and five days later some members of the community went to the channel and where part of the program. You can see the tv program on the fallowing links:

I bought a domain at the begging of the year, and well until right now I am using it :)

I return to google products, I am going to use blogspot and and google sites together. Why? Well I like google products and I never advanced with my html course. So I will use one that is done :p and google very useful :)
