May is a busy month for Radiohead genius producer Nigel Godrich as he was behind the sound desk for Here We Go Magic new album (our article from the beginning of the month), and is now releasing a whole new band, ultraísta !

Godrich teamed with drumer Joey Waronker (Beck, Atoms For Peace, Elliot Smiths) and London based singer Laura Bettison.

The 1st song Smalltalk and its video give us a basic idea of the artistic direction the band will take, and it reminds us strongly of the last Radiohead tracks, electro sounds and rythm serving pop atmosphere. We can’t wait to have a little more to bite !

After the caviar mani, the new tiny little elements that we will want to stick onto our nails are real leaves.

Yuka, the founder of the blog Clossette who is a bit obsessed with terrarium art lately came up with a step by step tutorial using tiny little mint and clovers leaves.

She just cut the little leaves from her mint pot with nail scissors, and apply them  with the help of tweezers between two layers of transparent nail polish.

A simple and cheap way to get into nail art. No need to be a genius for this one, this can also be adapted with little flowers.

The new kid prodigy of american hip hop is called A$AP ROCKY, it became obvious last year with his fantastic LIVELOVEA$AP, in which he distilled his very own swag-rap surrounded by powerful 80′s looking like instrumentals !

And we can be proud here in France, as A$AP shot the video for Goldie, the 1st extract for his forth coming LONGLIVEA$AP, in Paris. Leaving my hometown and my parents’ place at age 19 as to become independent. When I got to Barcelona I didn’t have any friends or a place to stay. So… That was challenging.

7. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Is yet to come, though already booked. Next week I’m having dinner on a platform suspended by a crane, that hangs fifty meters above ground. They call it “Dinner in the Sky”, so here’s hoping we won’t end up in heaven.

8.What is your motto in life?
A good look is better than good luck.

9.What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Of having published an interview with Diane Pernet, all an icon.

I have no idea. I’ve got some thoughts around the subject, but am not married to anything yet. I like to keep the concept of “me” loose so I can always evolve and not feel strange over shedding past definitions.

3.Where do you chill out?

I’ll give you my favorite spot at the moment. It’s hanging out in my friend Marcus Estes imagination. He has no sense of fear, no rules and his mind is as close to “pure” as I could probably get. I often times get trapped in my current projection of reality, so I go to Marcus to creatively re-set.

4.What do you dig?

Believe you are using slang for what do I like, but I actually like the question better if we are using the true definition of dig: To break up, Remove or turn over. So, I like to break up convention and social norms. Convention is used for controlling purposes that I try not to subscribe to.

5.What’s your worst moment of shame?

I hope to have epic fails. Stuff where I fall hard and get really beat up because of it. I figure it’s the only way I learn great lessons of evolution. So to answer the question, I’m hoping I have yet to see my worst, most glorious moment of shame.

6.Who would you rather be: Marilyn Monroe, Patty Smith, or Margaret Thatcher?

Probably Marilyn Monroe. She was way ahead of her time and had her own thing going on. She seemed like she was in her own little world while everyone else sat back and cast judgment. This quote is my favorite: “I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I’m already better than them anyways.”

7.Your sexy recipe?

Everything on Kristinreiter.com. It’s like a sexy breeding ground.

8.Who were you in a past life?

I know I lived in Israel somewhere and that I was a dude. That’s all I have put together thus far. Workin on filling in the rest.

Our favourite New York based troubadours are back !
We have always been following their track ever since their dark and full of rage debut. It has been a long way since The Rator Little House of Savages, some of the most emblematic songs of the band. On their previous album, Lisbon, it was already obvious that they had evolved from five young angry and worried boys to calmer, more self-satisfied young men. Its songs were more shining, peaceful but still filled with that intense power typical of The Walkmen.
Heaven seems to be a continuation of that path as we can see on the eponymous 1st release, making us very hopefull for that new album!
It will be released on the 4th of June, and the band will be playing at the next major music event, Primavera Sound – the Porto edition – that we will follow for you, of course!

- SLEEP LIKE A MARMOT:  nothing’s more soothing than a good sleep, or two, or free. Basically you  can just hibernate until the next season.

- GIRLY COMFORTING STUFF TO MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER: We know it, and as stupid as it sounds, a good hot bath with tons of foam and bubbles, some random hydrating / purifying mask, a coat or two of nail polish and you’re good to go girlfriend !
