Storytelling made easy – create a Video from Photos – Muvee

In this video review I show you how to create a video from your photos. With Muvee, which creates awesome videos from your photos and videos, this is easily possible. You do not need a lot of time to get familiar with the software. Actually, just after viewing this video you will be able to use the software and create memories and tell stories which last forever.

Let me stress this out before proceeding with the instructions. You do not need a lot of time to get familiar with the software, so follow along as we teach you the basics of Muvee.

DEFINITELY the first thing that we are going to do is to open the Muvee Reveal X software.

Next, we’re going to add music, photos or video by clicking on Add. We can add photos from our computer or directly to any camera, device or camcorder. Once the photos have been placed, we can now rearrange the pictures by dragging it to the desired photo arrangement.

If you want to emphasize your photo, you can do so by using magicSpot. With this tool, you can have a gentle zoom in effect to the area in the photo you want to focus on.

Aside from photos, we can also add texts. We can do so by clicking again on Add and choose INTERTITLE from the drop down menu. Aside from an intertitle, we can also put a text directly on the picture by clicking on it and choose CAPTION from the drop down menu.

Let’s explore on the different styles that we can use on how we are going to present our video. There are 6 default styles included in the software: Cube Twist, Kinetic, Lifebook, Strips, Ultra Plain and Uncle Oscar. You can even get more styles from their shop.

The software interface is pretty simple and easy to navigate, and in order to see a preview, just click on Play.

Have I mentioned that you can add a video within a video? You can easily place a video within your Muvee project, just like what I’ve done with my own Muvee project.

Moving on, we can also tweak the STYLE SETTINGS and change the browsing speed or the saturation. Just play around with the setting according to how you want your video to look like.

You can personalize the video more according to your preference or as to whatever purpose it may serve you by clicking on Personalize at the bottom part of the window and a new window will appear.

You can also add a Title, a Credit Sequence and even a logo if it’s a video for something more than of personal use by clicking on the tabs from the newly opened window.

If you want to tweak and customize your video a little bit more, you can click on Settings and set how loud the Music or the Video Soundtrack will be. Plus you can add a voice over, if you want a storytelling feel for your movie.

Once your done you can now click on Save Muvee and choose where you want your movie to go. There are a lot of choices to choose from on how you want to save your movie or you can post it directly on Facebook or Youtube.

There are a lot of things you can do with this program its very easy to use you don’t need much time to get use with it. It’s a hassle free and less complicated way of creating homemade videos. A very user-friendly movie editing software that wouldn’t eat away your time, just drag the pictures and tweak their settings and ta-dah! You’re done.

Threading Elements on a String – Digital Scrapbooking Tutorials

There are times when we come to a point where we are often stuck in creating images that appear to be hanging from a string. Images like that seems to add
a WOW factor for the whole output itself.

Here’s a sample from the Hawaiian Party Luau Collection . Notice the hats that are running through the string?

In this tutorial we will teach you how to Thread Elements on a String.

FIRST and foremost, we have to open the images we are going to use. For this project I used the images of a string and a lamp from the Hawaiian Party Luau Collection

Open a blank canvas in Photoshop by clicking on FILE>>NEW use the size 12×12 in. with a 300 dpi resolution and a transparent background.
NEXT, drag the string image and the lamp image from the project bin to the newly created blank canvas.

Now, we have to resize the image of the lamp in proportion to the size of the string. (Wouldn’t it be awkward-looking if the size of the images does not match?)

Let us now zoom in to the picture. As you can see here, all we have to do is place the hoop of the lamp behind the hoop of the rope– so that it would look like it was hanging from the rope.

Click on the lamp preview on the layers palette and press the command key or ctrl key and click on it with the left mouse, so that the whole lamp element is selected.

Finally (and yes, this is the last step), we click on the erase tool and erase the part where the rope and lamp hoop overlaps (make sure that the lamp layer is selected)

Best Printer for Scrapbooking to Print Scrapbooking Layouts

I haven’t often printed my layouts so far. But since we went to the fair in March I had to print out my projects to show people what they could do with digital scrapbooking. We created coffee cups, notebooks, a photo book, mouse pads, and many more articles to show what you can do with digital scrapbooking.

Many things you can do at home on your own printer. I know many think that ink costs a lot of money but there is a lot of cheap ink you can consider – for not even half the price. We bought it and are still more than happy with the results.

Here are the best printers for scrapbooking I know and use for my own projects.

The Canon Pixma MX882 Wireless is my favorite printer. It prints two-side documents and even captures beautiful photos from HD-Movies taken with a Canon DSLR or Powershot.

This printer is really fast and reliable and what I love most is the fact that you can get cheap ink (I know we shouldn’t do it but I do anyway and never had a disadvantage from doing so). It has a 3 inch huge display you can use intuitively. This one, as well as the others, are wireless printers. You can integrate them into your network and print wirelessly. What I really like is that I have one cable less on my desktop. This means one cable less my cat can chew

Another great wireless printer is the Canon Pixma MG 5320. This is also a wireless printer and it has one huge advantage – it can also print CD and DVD labels. It also allows you to print photos from your HD Camera and has a double-sided print. Beside that it is cheaper as the Canon Pixma MX882. I don’t think you’ll notice that it might have a slightly smaller resolution. All in all – this is the better printer for your money, especially if you need the CD/DVD label print (for example if you want to print your own designed label on a DVD which is very nice). This printer allows you to print from your iPhone, iPod Touch, and Android Devices. You can have all sorts of fun with your photos and add effects like Fish Effect, Miniature, Toy Camera, Soft Focus, and Blur Background.

Of course, it is all about the preferences you have and the label you choose (Canon, Hewlett Packard, Brother, etc.) but from my experience these printers, even with a high volume of printing we have in our office, are reliable and I can get cheap ink for both them. Also, even if you want to print your own pictures and scrapbooks these printers offer a great quality.

Please keep in mind that the paper you use to print scrapbooking layouts is also important. I usually resize my layouts to 8.5 x 11 inch -

this way I can print them at home cheaply. The HP Premium Photo Paper Pack includes 50 sheets of paper. With its weight of 280 g/m2 it has a great quality and prints black/white as well as colors sharply. The high-gloss finish ensures that skin tones are printed realistically and with maximum color-intense. You also get superior fade-resistance, mostly twice as long as the leading competitive paper. Depending on the look you want you can choose between glossy (poppy, colorful images), matte (text images), and satin finish for a professional and smooth touch.

Create your own Word Art – Digital Scrapbooking Tutorials

In this tutorial I show you how to find quotes and create your own word art.

In this photoshop tutorial we’re going to make use of quotes found on the internet and turn them into beautiful custom WordArt. Aside from watching the video, follow along by reading the written tutorial in order to get a full grasp on this project.

Search for an appropriate quote or any quote from the web that you would want to use in your own scrapbook project. Let’s take this Spring quotation by Thomas Blackburn as an example.

Create a new Image first by selecting FILE>>NEW with the following presets 12×12 in. with a 300 dpi (pixels/inch) and a transparent background.

Copy the text and paste it in the Adobe Photoshop Elements window by using the type tool.

Resize the quotation to the size that you want and arrange it. You can do so by resizing the font size of the words and by changing the font type.

If you want, you can highlight some words by changing its font color or its font type to another font.

You can play around with the words by changing it to capital letters or by changing several setting from the Character Tab.

Once you’re finished playing around with the words, you can now crop it to the appropriate size.

Finally when you’re done you can just click FILE >> SAVE AS.

NOTE: Always Save this type of file as .png to retain the transparent background.

Voila! Now you’re done!

Creating beautiful WordArt is a no sweat job and from this simple project you can now be able to progress into extravagant and ambitious digital scrapbooking projects. Just follow these simple instructions and you are good to go!
