Visiting to the Sekolah Tunas Bakti Kuching (Juvenile Rehabilitation Centers)

This is the first time that I've visit the juvenile rehabilitation centers, I'm with the NGO that day, and to visit the boys there, as Chinese New Year is just around the corner, so we bring some present, some mandarin orange for the boys there.

I'm the mcee for that program, and as always started to introduce the NGO with my broken Malay (damn, I really need more practice on my Malay language). And after that we have a few program line up for the boys. They gave a very warm welcome to us, and very good respond to us. When we have singer at the stage, they will wave together with the music rhythm to show heir support and appreciation.

When we have sexy dancer on the stage, well boys always be boys, they will show their werewolf face, and whistle loudly to all the dancers.

We also have games, and need volunteer to come up to the stage, and these boys are all brave kids, we don't have to please them, but they will rush up to the stage, and join in our game. Whenever one of them lost in the game, the crowd will shout loudly to the person who lost it.

On that day, Two of the boys are January baby. So we all sang Happy Birthday song to the both of them, and gave them both present each. This is really a good experience, as I believe that they never experience so much people singing happy birthday song to them before ;)

The boys who came and participate our program are all with good discipline record while in the rehab school. And most of them are almost due to go out and enter once again to the society. We saw that while in the school, they are well train by the instructor there. And they obey orders from instructor, and are highly discipline.

Hope that the boys here will learn from their past mistake, behave well, and be a good person when entering the society in the coming future. And also hope that the society will once again forgive on what they had done in the past, and nurture them to become a person who will benefit the society.

How to look after a lot of kids???

First of all, Happy New Year my dear reader. So on the first day of the New Year, I follow the welfare worker to a very remote village, and is situated at Singai Village, Bau, Kuching.

This family has 10 children, the daddy pass away years ago because of stroke. So now the mum become a widow, and she needs to look after her 10 children. The average income for her is below a thousand per month. I do a simple calculation, lets say she is lucky enough everyday there are people buy all her vegetables (oh ya, she plants some vegetables in the garden and sell it), and able to earn 1000 each month, divided by 11 person in the house (some studying, some still need to drink milk) so each person will get RM91.....

RM1000 / 11 person = RM91 /per person

RM91 / 30 days = RM3 /per day

That means that each person can only use 3 bucks a day.....

The house, they have 1 living room, 1 kitchen, and 1 bed room and that's it. The welfare workers will help this family to apply for government aids, and hope that the gov welfare fund are able to assist them in someway. And today for our visitation, we bring some rice, cookies, cup cake, lollipop, cooking oil, instant noodles, school bags, stationary, and some financial aids to her.

Is actually quite fun to see little kids running around you, seeing them eating the cup cake, and fight with each other for the cookies. Hope they can grow up in a healthy condition... may god bless them all.

Fixing my old xbox 360

My xbox 360 for this so call "circle of death", from my guess I think is mainly because of the xbox is overheating. So I youtube it on how to fix, and able to follow the steps accordingly. And I notice that the board does not has a heat conductor pad on back of the main 4 chips. I got a few of those, and I cut it into 4 small pieces and stick it on top of the chip.

After put everything back, finger cross, switch on the power button... and.... Yes. Is fixed!!! but I hope the fix can last long, cause I still have a few race to go until I finish my Need For Speed game...

DiGi iPhone 4SURE SIRI ANSWERS

Why Siri and DiGi are your best companions 1.

I am always hunger for wisdom, since Siri can answer almost any question. There are actually a few stuff that I will do when I have the iPhone 4S, Siri and DiGi will be my best companions when I want to seek for wisdom...

1. Sometime I'll visit some cancer patient, and dialysis patients. some of the questions that they asked are like:
- what is the suitable food for me to eat? How to eat healthy??
- Why do I need to take this injection?
- What is this medicine for? (some weird medical name)

So I can ask all of this to Siri, so that I can have answer on the spot, and update the patients for their reference. Siri will be my best medical advisor cum buddy.

2. Look up NBA / Sports results.
I'm a huge fan of the NBA, so now with just a simple question like
- Siri, who won the 2011 NBA playoff?
- Siri, the NBA match yesterday, who score the highest point, rebounds, dunk, block and etc...
- Siri fine me highlight clips of yesterday game.

and I can just sit back relax, while in the same time get the results I want. I need internet connection for this, so Siri and DiGi both will be my best buddy when they work together.

3. I will update my twitter, and facebook by using Siri...
- Me: Siri, update my facebook status
- Siri: Ok, what would you like me to say?
- Me: (in show off mode) This is an update by using my iPhone, Siri. *wink*
- Me: Send

tisk tisk ;) and my firends will be like... wow Wilson, your iPhone can do that!!?? (imagining now while typing this post)

4. Remind me to buy present for Mother's day, and my mum's birthday...
Since Siri has a female voice, I'll definitively ask her on what should I buy for my mum's birthday and mother's day present.

I can be a good boy, and Siri and DiGi can be my best buddies.

5. With the advance of technology, an advance device must be pair up with the Internet. So if I have an iPhone in my hand, my No.1 choice of Internet Service Provider in this universe will of course be DiGi.

I've use other telco provider before, and in the end, I would still prefer to use DiGi, and it provides me the fastest internet connection.

The both of them will be like my best buddy, as I'll use them in my daily life for almost everything.

What is the first thing you will do with the DiGi iPhone 4S

During my free time, I'll do some charity work. And one of the problem I face is that I want to use a handy video camera to record down all the wonderful moment, and share it with the patients. Cause for some of them, that might be the last time for the to have such happy moment with us.

So if I have an iPhone 4S, I know apple have improve on the camera stability, and also improve on the lens. Then I'll use it to record down the moment when we are together with the terminal ill patient. And edit it by using iMovie, and then burn the movie to a DVD, and give it as a present to the patient and their family.

There are a lot of unfortunate people, who need care and attention from the public. We did an activity by giving them some "I wish card..." and ask them to write down their wishes....
as a summary, most of their wishes is to be able to stay alive, and spend some quality time together with their love one. When they suffer from critical illness, this may seems impossible for them. So what I can think of is to organised activity, for them to be able to celebrate with their love one, and I record down these special moment using an iPhone. And make this an eternity moment for them to remember :)

That is the first thing that I will do with the DiGi iPhone 4S... :))

2011 Christmas Performance at Hock Lee Centre Kuching

During Christmas eve, I volunteer to become a part time photographer at one of the Charity Performance held at Hock Lee Centre Kuching. I'm joining an NGO, they are doing a one hour performance for the public, and also distributing present for kids.

The place was pack with people, I saw they are all enjoying the show very much. And they even have Santa Claus giving away candy for kids too. Now come to think of it, how about us grown ups? we want present too.... :(

Charity Sales 2011 @ Kuching Life Care Society

(Me and My Nikon Camera)

Today I join the charity sales for the Kuching Life Care Society, and it was held at the Boulevard Shopping Mall Kuching. Wake at 6AM today, can't really sleep well last night, quite nervous that I might be late. Wake up at round 3.30AM.... :( and went back to sleep again.

The charity sales had around 40 stalls, and it was at the upper floor of the mall, so it was quite hot!!! At first I walk around, to make sure that every stalls has their own piggy bank (a plastic container for them to keep the coupons). Then I start to take some stall photos for them.

So I invited a few of my friends to come and help at the sales, and they all show up (thou two of them came late) I'm quite happy for them to show up, as I wanted them to slowly involve in charitable work. And hope that in the future, they are able to come and help more.

After the sales, my friends and I have to carry all the heavy stuff back to the centre. Its very tired, I think I'll skip my jogging this evening....

KK-KCH Charity Cycle Ride 2011 Ends

The Kota Kinabalu (Sabah) to Kuching (Sarawak) Charity Ride is finally finish, after months of preparation, and on the actual day flag off ceremony, until the last few days of escorting the cyclist. Finally it is finish...

(The 55 years old cyclist, Francis. He cycle form Kota Kinabalu (Sabah), to Kuching (Sarawak) for 13 days, a total of 1340KM)

This charity ride gave the charity society a change to pledge donation from the public. As they want to build a palliative centre to take care of the terminal ill patient. It requires 2 millions, and from the event, we have collected a total of 100 thousand. So it is still very far away from our target, but what we can do is keep on organising charity event. And also hope that the public will be aware of this, and help the society to make it a better place to live.

Been doing all of these charity work for quite some years, and for all these years I gain something like friendship, self satisfaction, happiness, knowledge, trust...thus I also lost something, time, promise, person I care. I really wish the charity society are able to build that centre, and maybe after that I can rest. I don't have much money to give, so the thing that I can give is my energy, some spare time, and my passion on doing this.

For all these year, due to my stubbornness, I may hurt a lot of people. I'm felt really sorry, I will keep on doing what I like, but in the same time learn on how to love other more.

Serian Highest Mount, Panorama View

This is the panorama shoot I took when I was at the summit of the highest mount at Serian, Kuching. I follow two of my friends go to that place, is behind the Serian town. On top of the summit, there are three telco towers, which is the Celcom, DiGi, and Maxis telco towers.

The hight of the mount is 776 meter above sea level, and when I'm on top, the weather are slightly cozy (not as cold at like in Kota Kinabalu Mount, or Genting Highland). But is better than nothing. The way up are fully covered by tarmac, so if you have a 4 wheel drive, it will be easy for you to drive up, but the view is worth it. If you have time, you may also picnic there, with the splendid view at your back. The Beauty of Sarawak.

I'm at the place where you can rent a boat and visit the small island near to the Kota Kinabalu town. I did bargain with a few boatman, but in the end, I chooses to go visit the mount of Kota Kinabalu, instead of going to the island.

I went to visit Kota Kinabalu on Nov 2011, for a charity activity. And after the programs ends, I called up my friend to drive my other friends to the hilly part of Kota Kinabalu, which is to the Kundasan area, where the Mount Kinabalu is, where they have cozy weather, pretty local girls, beautiful flowers, desa cow farm, strawberries farm, tea garden, hot spring, mushroom plantation, fogging roads, budget home stay, luxurious hotel, and more!!!

I'm really happy that after one year I'm able to come back here again for another visit, so as usual, all the pretty flowers will be one of my photography topic. So my dear reader, hope you like my photos.

DM trip to the Kota Kinabalu 2011

I went for a 4 days 3 night trip to Kota Kinabalu, KK is one of my favourite place to visit, especially the Kundasan area there they have the cozy weather, and the Mount Kota Kinabalu. OMG, cozy weather here I come.... oh wait, I'm here for the Charity Ride thingy, so have to settle everything first before enjoying. Went to a house warming party, is my friend's cousin house. He did very well in KK, and bought a half million house to stay in. Is a 3 stories house, the outer looks is good, but they really need to put more effort on the interior. Or hire an interior designer to do the design for them. Is time to check in to our hotel, I'm staying at the Sabah Oriental Hotel (formerly knowns at Beverly Hotel). There is a group of Filipino band, and the two singer can sing very well (and very sexy too). This is how the lobby looks like, there is a water fountain just surrounding the stairways (and the x-mas tree), and they have lots of real tortoise swimming around the fountain. After we checked in, we left our luggage in the hotel room. I called up my friend to pick us up, and tour us around the KK town. This is the night view from the Singnal Hill Observation Pavilion at Sabah. We went to the Sutera Harbour Resort, it is a huge resort. I visited the place for quite a few time, and it was really huge, and pretty. One of the best place to be when your at Kota Kinabalu. They have very nice restaurant there, and the ambient are super cool. There is a dockyard where people with their own yacht can dock em here. There are more than 20 yacht here. Hope I can go for a ride on these yacht one day.

2 Days Bintulu Trip

Each time I only get to transit at the Bintulu airport, but this time is my first time to visit the Bintulu Town. I follow my friends at the charity society here for a short 2 days 1 night trip, and to attend a charity dinner. Bintulu is famous for the oil and gas industry here, and it also the only division which has the flight academic school here. So who wants to be a pilot, they can come here to learn to fly. When we reach Bintulu, it was meeting the whole day. I don't have any time to actually go around the Bintulu town, and took photo :( My friend bring us to a restaurant, and ordered a famous dish. Is the fish, they cook it by warp the fish with aluminium foil, and put lots of salt inside, and steam it. That restaurant is the only one who can make such dish, and is very tasty (according to my friend). All the fish are kept inside a fish tank, and there are a lot of fishes in that tank. I feel so pity for the fish, waiting to be slaughter, and be eaten by people just to satisfy people hunger. I still eat meat, but I just felt very sorry for the fish to watch the fish die like this. Waiting for people to pick which one is the fresh one, and eat it.... so I skip that dish, and let my friends eat my portion. By the time the meeting finish, it was very late, and my friend did bring us to roam around the Bintulu Town one round, so I quickly take this opportunity to take some pictures. Here is me at the Chinese Temple. That night, most of my friends had stomach ache. I'm the one who is ok, I'm been thinking, is it the fish... hm... cheers, Wilson

Blood Donation @ Giant Hypermarket, Padawan Kuching

Help out on the blood donation drive, and this month is at the newly open Giant Hypermarket at Padawan district. The space that they gave us for the blood donation drive are too small. Didn't manage to get much people to come and donate blood that day, but at least there still people. I took this picture when a few little girls with the famous Angry Bird t-shirt/purse, witness live on how the medical people take the blood from one of the donor. Funny reaction :D

Software Tester MOU

Yeo Tan Hua RIP

After Ah Hua's mother pass away on July, since then ah hua is living in a very suffer life. His two brothers sometime will slap him, because he makes noise. And they will not change ah hua diaper, but is the sister-in-law.

My friend, if this is the first post you read here is the beginning story of ah hua. [click here to read] Mama Yeo Unfortunate Stories I follow the society to visit ah hua on October. One month after my visitation, my fiend told me that Ah Hua is in a comma, because he didn't eat and drink for days. Luckily the society will constantly pay regular visit to him, after noticing this, immediately they send ah Hua to the hospital.

I took that photos on 07th of November 2011, when I saw him, he right leg and arm was swollen, and there are some bruises too. His mouth was cover by an oxygen mask. We call out his name "Ah Hua, Ah Hua", and he blink at us, and mumble to us. I saw him inhale, exhale.... and he looks extremely suffer. I don't know how to help him to ease his pain, I'm a Buddhist, so what I can do is to pray for him inside my heart, and wish that the Buddha can come and bring him along.

Then we comfort him, and tell him that his mum is waiting for him on the other world. He can now let go of this body, and follow the Buddha, follow his mum. His mum is waiting for him, and will take good care of him... I force myself on not to wet my eyes, I really hope that he can leave peacefully, rather than live in this world to suffer. My friends and I talk to him, and comfort him, and also pray for him...

The next morning, when I was at office. I text my friend some information he needs, and when he reply, he also told me that Ah Hua had pass away on 08 Nov 11, around 6AM :( Although Ah Hua didn't teach me anything, but he has show me that I need to value my life. I need a healthy body to keep me going, I need a healthy body to help more people.

Yeo Tan Hua, may you have a healthy body in your after life, and may your soul rest in peace. Amitabah....

Dinner @ Siniawan Kuching

Visited Siniawan Town with my brother when he's at Kuching. Is a 30 minutes drive from Kuching, and every Friday and Saturday night the Siniawan old town will have this food fest, and karaoke competition. Too many choice, I order this batu kawa meat balls. Burn my tongue, I ate too fast. The latest trend, Angry Bird. Is all over the place, books, exercise book, lantern, t-shirt..... and the kids are crazy about it. uh!! gonna show you my ride ;)

Mid Autumn 2011 Festive visitation @ Sarawak General Hospital

Is my favourite time again, to go to the hospital. But is not because I'm sick, but is time to have fun and party with the patients and nurse there. On every festive occasion, I'll join the charity society to do some performance at the hospital. I'm not good at dancing and singing, but I'm good at photography, so I'll sometime help them capture that special moment.

I'll always startoff with some introduction on our visitation (with my broken Malay), and then the show is on :) First stop, we have friends who perform traditional China opera show, with some oldies music at the background. That's fun, and is the first time we've done this at the hospital.

And next, my friends from the charity society they know a lot of dances. And they will perform all kinds of dances, sometime traditional, sometime cultural, sometime hot dance. So grateful to have them here to help.

Our audience consist of various ethnic groups of friends, so the food must be suitable for all of them. And vegetarian food is the best choice, cause is Halal, and the veggie is suitable for the patients too.

Is the Mid-Autumn, so a lantern dance is a must to spice up the program for that night. The clothes that my friends wear, the black one is made from a recycle curtain clothes. They re-use the curtain and made a few sets of performance clothes, is a good and creative move.

We also asked the patients to come up to the stage and dance together with us, this is the fun part. All of us are enjoying ourself, and I'm so happy to see that the patients dance and laugh together with us.

I've also asked my friends to come and help out, to become a volunteer. We need a lot of helping hands when distributing the food, giving present to them.

The last part of the show, we gave all of the patients a lantern. And we all lit up the lantern and pray together, we treat all as one big family, praying all of our friends, families, the one we love, and themselves to stay healthy, and happy.

The show last about 2 hours, and we ended by taking a group photos for memories :)

Mid Autumn 2011 @ Friendship Park Kuching

On the actual day of mid-autumn the best place to hang out after the family dinner will definitely be the friendship park, there will be full of people with lanterns, family, couple, hot chicks, kids, and kong-ming lantern.

What I like the most is see how they decorate the trees with lantern, is fun to see how they can work together as a family and decorate the trees.

Due to the popular demand, how can we left out Angry Bird lantern this year :P so cute... I want to get one, but I still like my Doraemon lantern than the angry birds. I finish all the levels with 3 stars for the angry bird game, how about you?

The Kong-Ming lantern, this year my friends from the charity society give out free lantern at Friendship Park, while raise some fund from the public. After our activity, they also litup one kong-ming lantern, to wish that all of the people who suffer from serious illness will be able to live happy, and also wish that we will be able to build a paliative care center to help for the unfortunate people.

follow my friend to Samarahan division, to a small town called Bunleong. Translate to Chinese is call “Wen Long” kiss of dragon :) that’s a nice name. To drive to Bunleong, it took us almost one hour car drive. Well, we didn’t purposely go there. My friend Chiew (the driver), need to buy yam to bake yam cake. Langkawi Visitation 2008
My trip to Langkawi was great, but is a bit rush. I went there with a bunch of my friends, together there are over 10 of us. We’ve stay there for two days one night; I was at Penang that time. And bought our boat tickets to Langkawi, it cost RM105 per tickets (return ticket). Our boat leaves at 8:30am, so we have to check-in 30 minutes before the boat leave the port. Is a THREE hours boat ride. I don’t take heavy meal that morning, cause I know I might get sea sick. The weather is great, morning breeze blowing gently on my face. This will be a wonderful trip for sure.

What did I do during the good old school days
I went to most of the secondary schools in Kuching, I miss my schooling days back in Limbang. Those were the days which I once live without worry and fear. During my secondary school time, we are in the afternoon sessions, Friday is my favorite days cause we start our class late. And this is also the time when we go pick a fight with the native or Malay friends.
