It’s Nigel’s 60th birthday. So this is why Simon Cowell wants to get off TV as he nears 50.

They thought they were going to put together a Michael Jackson tribute. Sorry, not allowed. Sony or the family? They don’t know.

Janette & Brandon are safe, which leaves Jason & Caitlin in the bottom three for the third time. Mary’s not particularly surprised.

Randi & Evan are safe, leaving Jeanine & Phillip in the bottom three. Expected after that somewhat creepy folk dancing. Nigel gives a lengthy explanation of the whole process of people being cut, and how the judges have already pretty much made up their minds. Why right after these two get bottom three and not at some other point?

Kayla & Kupono are safe, putting Melissa & Ade in the bottom three for the first time. Tyce felt Ade dropped the ball.

Caitlin, Jason, Jeanine, Phillip, Melissa, and Ade will now dance for their lives.

The judges are unanimous with the girls. They have picked the two girls they want to stay, and Caitlin is not one of them.

They are also unanimous with the boys. Phillip is unique in what he does, but his performance in other genres has been disappointing. Nigel’s earlier speech turns out to be foreshadowing, as Phillip has been cut.

Despite the fact they have been eliminated, Caitlin and Phillip will both be on the tour, alongside the So You Think You Can Dance Season 5 top 10.

So You Think You Can Dance Season 5 Episode 15

Show of hands. How many people liked high school? Great, two. Well, this year’s twist is straight out of high school. It’s all about the cliques. Not a big fan of the forcing people to unite like this, although some of these cliques may well implode.

Ronnie, Laura, Russell, and Kevin enter first. Ronnie and Russell grab the same room, while Laura will be bunking with Kevin. Kevin already says he likes the geek Ronnie. Chima, Braden, Natalie, and Casey go next. Braden doesn’t have the words to describe what he’s feeling, presumably because his vocabulary is limited. Chima takes the room with Laura. Braden and Casey will be together. Jordan, Jeff, Michele, and Lydia may now enter. They’re stuck with the room the others passed up, the one that looks like a pool.

Russell’s going to have to learn to like Ronnie. Chima’s laugh is already getting to Casey. Michele doesn’t want anyone to know she’s got a Ph D. Yeah, you think you’re going to keep up that lie for three months? Natalie’s a recent high school graduate, or so she tells the house. Kevin would like to discuss her real age later because her lie’s already blown. Laura’s excessive fake boobs, which can only lead to severe back pain, make Kevin throw up a little in his mouth. The girls are all attracted to Jeff. At age 40, Casey’s the grandpa of the house this year. Certainly a very young cast. Michele’s a little worried about the big mixed martial arts guy Russell.

Julie reveals that the mystery houseguest is somebody we already know. Oh, I’m afraid. Just please don’t make it someone who sucks. Two strikes if it’s someone from season 6.

The house now learns they will be divided into four cliques: athletes, popular, brains, and off-beat. While they will play and be nominated as individuals, if a member of their clique becomes Head of Household, nobody in their group can be nominated for eviction. Not even if they hate that person. They’ll all find out later which clique they’re in.

After giving them some time to worry and wonder, Julie is now ready to reveal the cliques. They go out to the backyard to find their names.

Popular: Jordan, Laura, Braden
Brains: Michele, Ronnie, Chima

This spoils Natalie’s plan to pretend she’s not a tae kwan do champion. It also spoils Michele’s and Ronnie’s plans to pretend they are less smart than they are. Chima takes offense to being called a brain.

Now it’s time for the first HOH competition of the season. They are in the locker room, where they will have to step into underpants and grab on to their toilet seats. The competition is called the wedgie. The last person to let go of their toilet seat will give their clique a distinct advantage… but will not be Head of Household. In fact, no one in the yard will be HOH.

Instead, one of the mysterious 4 will be moving into the Big Brother house, and that person will be the first HOH. Who are they?

Michael “Cowboy” Ellis from Big Brother 5. For real?
Jessica Hughbanks from Big Brother 8. She was a good player, until she threw the game away.
Brian Hart from Big Brother 10. No opinion on this guy. He was first out.
Jessie Godderz from Big Brother 10. Oh geez. His ego’s even bigger than it was before.

Michael is offbeat, Jessie is an athlete, Brian is the brain, and Jessica is popular. Whichever clique wins the competition determines who goes into the house.

Back to the house for the competition. Michele is the first one to fall. Ronnie falls after her, leaving Chima as the last hope for the brains. Well, now that they’ve survived the wedgie. How about the super wedgie? Brian will give his 30 second super wedgie to the popular group, while Jessica and Michael will give theirs to the athletes, and Jessie targets the offbeats. The brains, who are almost out of it anyway in this competition that’s really not something anyone expects them to compete in, will get no super wedgie. Lydia drops. Jordan follows her. Kevin is next. That leaves Casey for the offbeats. Jeff drops. Time for another super wedgie. The athletes get three, while Jessie targets the brains. Popular and offbeat are safe this time. Chima is out, taking the brains and Brian’s chances with her. Yeah, he’s the first one out again. Casey drops, eliminating the offbeats and Cowboy. The athletes and popular crowd have two people left standing. Kevin’s worried this will be high school all over and he’ll be nominated. Natalie’s cockiness may be her undoing, and it worries her teammate Russell. Laura falls, leaving it up to Braden. She says she fell on purpose because she doesn’t want a target on her back. So she’d rather give up an extra player and safety for the week? It’s not as if she’d be making the nominations. Braden slips. The athletes win this physical challenge. Not an overly big surprise. Jessie gets a second chance, and he will start off as HOH.

Barbara Padilla America's Got Talent 4

Hasselhoff is wearing a cowboy hat because they’re in Texas. It doesn’t work.

Speaking of cowboys, the Texas Tenors are there to sing. They formed a group because they heard America’s Got Talent was coming to town. They’ve been together for three whole months. Between the three of them, they have one real job. They sing Mountain Music by Alabama. Good considering they’re a new group, but there’s no risk of them winning. Hoff thought they did a very good job. Sharon can see it’s very raw. Piers is pleasantly surprised.

Bruce Thomas says he’s a musician. He believes he’s the only one in the world who does what he does, which usually means it should stay that way. He makes harmonious sounds with his hands. Well, that was stupid.

Acrodunk is a group of acrobatic slam dunkers. Although their families want them to get real jobs, they believe they can make a living doing this instead. Hasselhoff says they’re by far the best dunkers. Piers enjoyed the energy and fantastic dunking. The unfortunate reality for Acrodunk is that they won’t win. They are repeat performers on America’s Got Talent who were here on season 1 but eliminated by the viewers’ vote.

Eleisha Miller is an 8 year old singer and keyboard player. She sings and plays Proud Mary. The keyboard playing’s better than the singing. Hoff says the singing needs a little work. Eleisha agrees. Sharon says no, but the other two judges let her through despite their reservations.

Jamar and Lamar Jefferson are R&B act Timez 2. We get two for the price of one. Nick expects a train wreck or brilliant. It’s closer to the former than the latter, but it’s probably enough to continue. Hasselhoff likes their raw talent and energy. Piers says they were quite good. Sharon wants them to spend more time working on their vocals than their grinding. Hoff says yes. Piers says no. Sharon says yes to put them through to the next round.

Unlike American Idol, there’s no age restriction, which is good news for 75 year old Grandma Lee (so is that a real name or like a nickname?). She’s a comedian. Sharon loves the material and the timing. Piers says she may be his favorite contestant season, to which she responds he’s cute and she’d do him.

Stay-at-home mom Barbara Padilla is originally from Guadalajara, Mexico. She’s dusting off her lifelong dream to be a singer. Every year an opera singer comes along and blows people away, and here’s this year’s example. Her singing has given her inspiration to fight through cancer, and now her new dream comes true as she sails through to Vegas.

Nigel: Evan’s not a hot samba king but is very strong. Randi, however, is hot. Together, not hot enough.

Tyce: Evan needed to act more like a lunatic, or at least that’s what I’m getting from this. Randi carried the piece.

Routine: Thieves.
Song: Ruby Blue by Roisin Murphy
Nigel: Nothing they can’t be given that they don’t do brilliantly. Janette’s keeping up with Brandon despite all his training and her background as a salsa dancer. If they don’t get the biggest vote of the night, it will be shocking.
Mary: The best for last. Stole everybody’s heart. Brandon is the champion. Janette delivers every week.
Tyce: So proud and privileged to be watching this.

So You Think You Can Dance Season 5 Episode 14

It was the decision of the tribe to toss a vote Clarence’s way, and Tom was more than happy to comply. Clarence is still struggling to realize why what he did was wrong.

Frank believes he’s the boss of everybody, although the younger members of the tribe don’t really want a boss and aren’t happy about it. This split is exemplary of the split in the tribe divided by age. Silas, Lindsey, Brandon, and Kim P gravitate toward each other, while Frank, Teresa, Linda, and Carl are in their own group.

Each tribe will have to get 5 logs to their tower through a series of obstacles and then build stairs to reach the top. The paths criss cross, which may mean having to give the right of way to the other team and wasting valuable time. Reward includes blankets, food, and the stuff they left behind on day one. Linda sits out for Samburu. With Silas taking control, Samburu takes the lead on their first log. Boran manages to grab the lead on the second log, but it’s a matter of seconds. Samburu retakes the lead on the third log. It’s roughly even as they get to the final log. Kim J’s fall on the final stretch makes the conclusion obvious. Samburu wins reward.

Jessie is out of it. Despite her dehydration, she really doesn’t want to drink the water because she doesn’t like the taste. Taste is not a luxury she can afford.

Although Teresa likes the younger people, she wants to be on the stronger side instead. She considers that to be the older people.

Carl pitches to Silas to join their alliance. They want the strongest member of the other side on their side, so that’s Silas. Carl says he would be a complete fool and an idiot to stick with a weak threesome rather than joining a strong foursome. So like doesn’t Silas being with the other three make them a foursome, too? And doesn’t him being on the bottom of a fivesome put him in a particularly poor spot? He apparently agrees to join with the older group. To strength and honor.

Jessie and Kim J are worried that the guys may bond together and get rid of the girls.

Lex approaches Ethan to get him into an alliance with him and Tom to the final three. Ethan’s paranoid that Lex has too many deals going on.

When Silas returns from the watering hole, Lindsey needs to know what happened. She goes to find out and overhears Frank talking loud and clear about his plans to get rid of the youngeons. Teresa, not wanting to be dishonest, acknowledges what’s going on.

Lindsey later goes up to Silas alone, and he tells her to trust him. She’s not sure whether he’s saying that because he’s telling the truth or because he’s getting tired of her voice, which does tend to grate.

Silas may be smiling to everybody, but it doesn’t appear anybody trusts him or that he’s made up his mind anyway.

Time for a gross food challenge at the Damu Bar. The tribes in the area don’t really eat vegetables or a lot of meat. They rely on milk from cattle, as well as blood from cattle. How do they get that blood? Jabbing a cow and getting it hot and fresh. Probst dumps it in a container and adds a bit of milk. It’s shot for shot. Lex and Frank both have no trouble. Probably tastes better than most of the gross food challenges. Tom and Carl likewise get it down easily. Ethan and Lindsey are also fine. It’s becoming obvious this will come down to a tiebreaker. Teresa and Kelly are fine, but Kelly struggles a little. Kim and Kim as well. Linda and Jessie do fine, although they seem to have more difficulty than most. Clarence and Brandon are good. Lex and Silas finish off the final shots. Boran selects Linda. Samburu selects Kelly. They will drink pure blood without milk from a glass. The first one to finish off their shot wins. Linda finishes first, and Samburu wins immunity.

Jessie’s the obvious boot here, although both the other girls realize their heads are on the line after having cost their tribe the last two challenges. While there’s talk of voting Clarence off, that would just be stupid.

At tribal council, Jessie admits she’s struggled but says she’s feeling great now. Clarence believes he’s in the clear. Kim acknowledges she’s vulnerable, and so does Kelly.

Survivor: Africa Episode 2

Nasty Nate Watkins believes he’s better than Prince, Cher, and Ozzy, which is apparently supposed to mean he thinks he’s good. He fancies himself a singer. Based on his singing ability, it’s obvious why they call him nasty. Piers and David buzz. Sharon wants to watch the train finish wrecking. Hoff calls him simply the worst. If he wants to go to Vegas, he’d better drive there.

Sheldon Wesley, creator of the Footworks Fitness aerobic step program, is there with his partner Alexandra Stratigos to turn the step into a drum. It’s probably a fun workout, but it’s just not an act.

The final contestant of the day in Hollywood is 49 year old nurse Terri Willis, who looks like she will be a complete disaster, but she could surprise us. She says she is the 7th cousin to Celine Dion, and she sings her song Because You Loved Me. It’s a resounding no. So concludes the worst day in the history of America’s Got Talent and David Hasselhoff’s life.

Perhaps high school student Bri (apparently last nameless already) can turn things around on day two. She sings and plays keyboard, which she found to overcome her bad stuttering problem that she was born with. She sings Burnin Up by the Jonas Brothers. Sharon’s happy to see her show her own personality in the song. Piers thinks she has raw talent. Hoff says she’s got a big career ahead of her. She’s headed to Vegas, and not just because she lives there.

TJ is there with his little mamas. Little dude got skills whether he’s any good or not. TJ & the Little Mamas is a group of 6-9 year olds that dances hip hop and jazz. Hasselhoff calls them an inspiration to all the kids in America. They’re going to Vegas.

Monsieur Pedicure (is that the best you could do?) does an unusual dance that he discovered last summer. He calls his talent different and unique. Translation: bad. He is a toe dancer. Oy. He dresses his toes then proceeds to wiggle them. Oh, now that’s just plain pathetic. Hoff says this is the new worst act in history.

Mario Ferreira and his wife Jennifer Romas-Ferreira look like they probably do something like driving spikes through their feet. They promise sexy and dangerous. She does a bunch of pointless acrobatic moves whlie he saws stuff. Finally we get to the meat of the trick. He juggles chainsaws. Hoff calls them terrific. Piers thinks they were born to be Vegas performers.

Lawrence Beaman is a singer from Mississippi. He sings Old Man River from Show Boat and gets a standing ovation. Piers calls that an amazing, stunning performance. Sharon thinks he’s a class act. David says he’s brought class, grace, and talent.

These 16 people will be divided into two tribes.

Samburu (Red): Silas, Kim P, Carl, Linda, Lindsey, Frank, Brandon, and Teresa
Baron (Gold): Ethan, Kelly, Tom, Kim J, Lex, Diane, Clarence, Jessie

They are thrown off the truck and left for dead in the middle of the desert on the equator. They are allowed to choose which supplies they can carry from the baskets on the ground. A word of caution: the animals can be extremely dangerous. This is Africa, and they’ve got all kinds of lions and tigers and elephants.

Because the water at camp must be boiled, they are warned that they need to bring as much with them as they possibly can. Baron decides that the water they have is too much, so they dump two of the three jugs. Their hope is they will ultimately get a source of water, whereas something like canned goods won’t come up again.

Their next issue is the map reading. Diane has been appointed, but she doesn’t really know what she is doing. Big Tom compares the tribe to a bunch of sheep jumping into a hole because the first sheep did. While the others struggle to carry everything, Diane’s just having a casual stroll through the desert, wondering why they can’t keep up.

Frank is growing impatient with the young people on Samburu. Kim P thinks Brandon rocks because his luxury item is ChapStick. Lindsey just started her period, which is really more than anybody needed to know. Frank wanders ahead of everybody because he wants them to keep up the pace and get where they’re going. Upon arrival at their camp, Frank has just one request: pick up the pace because the sun’s going down.

The tribes are given huts made of manure and grass, and they also have a thorn fence surrounding the camps to protect against predators. They must make sure their fence is secure, keep a fire burning all night, and keep at least two people awake at all times to be look outs.

Believing he’s in the army now, Frank proceeds to be a drill sergeant.

Samburu broke three gourds on the hike and lost the cap on one of them, which puts them in a dire water situation. They must now make their way to the water hole to get water. Well, it’s not exactly a water hole. It’s more like mud and assorted bacteria with a little water mixed in.

Aside from Frank, Samburu has another issue: Linda. She’s there to respect the mother country, and she is not a big fan of either the modern world or its inhabitants.

Despite the fact that fire is a safety requirement, there are no hand outs here. The tribes will have to earn their fire. Trying to start a fire with rope and sticks is really quite futile and a big waste of energy.

Jessie’s already getting sick, and she is desperate for water.

Nobody has had any luck with the fire, which is no great surprise, but Samburu gets a break. Kim P goes looking through the medical kit, and in it, she finds a telescope. She figures that if you can start a fire with a magnifying glass, they may be able to start one with that. This theory proves correct, and Silas makes fire. Just make sure you don’t pass out, dude.

Dying of thirst, Baron has decided to open up a can of cherries. Take one and pass it on. Clarence takes two. This does not go unnoticed.

The immunity challenge also serves as a reward challenge. The winner will get immunity, fire, and a cart useful for transporting water. They grab a flaming cart and run. They’ll stop and light stations with torches along the way. Baron is off to a lead that keeps getting bigger. One member will dash up a hill to light a fire (Clarence and Silas are chosen) and then come back down for the final stretch. Boran still leads. Samburu finally manages to catch up as they’re lighting the last fire. Diane falls to the ground as Samburu takes the lead. This challenge was Boran’s to lose, and they did just that. Samburu wins immunity. When it’s said and done, Diane drops to the ground again, and she’s not looking good.

While the others go get water, Clarence volunteers to stay behind and take care of Diane. The rest of the tribe is talking. Clarence really loves them cherries. When they return to camp, they find out that Clarence and Diane had a can of beans when they were away. The other six members of the tribe are not happy. Clarence blames Diane; Diane blames Clarence. The rest of the tribe blames Clarence because they already didn’t trust him from the two cherry incident. Believing she just saved herself, Diane is quite happy with her performance.

With 6 votes, Diane has been voted out due to her status as the weakest member of the tribe. In an effort to send a message to Clarence that he forgives but doesn’t forget, Big Tom votes for him.

Survivor: Africa Episode 1

“I was like, ‘What?’” Laurel, 29, tells PEOPLE. “There was this pause before he said my name — and then he said it quite a few times.”

Laurel tells the same story Wes told. They dated for three years, but now they’re friends. “I’m absolutely not with Wes, nor would I be with Wes if he were going on a show to be with another girl,” she says. “That’s absolutely crazy.”

She also wants us to believe he’s less of an unfeeling womanizing self centered stick in the mud than we have seen. “They have not shown Wes’s real personality at all. He’s so funny. When I was in a relationship with him, we were always laughing and having fun. And I never worried about him cheating on me.”

The sordid tale doesn’t end there. In addition to her relationship with Wes, whether it’s over now or not, Laurel also dated Brad Womack, the guy who didn’t want anything to do with any of the 25 hand selected beautiful women during his season of The Bachelor.

As if that’s not enough, she additionally dated Collin Evans, who was on The Bachelorette 3.

As for Wes, she apparently wants Jillian to be dumb enough to give him a shot. “She seems to have fun and has a good personality,” Laurel says, “and he’s really fun and funny. Too bad all this craziness had to go down.”

Laurel Responds to Wes' The Bachelorette Controversy

The final four head to Madrid, Spain. So it’s overnight dates already.

Jillian wonders whether Kiptyn’s out of her league. They walk through the streets of Madrid. He never thought he would be there. This year. Although things have gone better than expected, he thinks a proposal is pretty far off. Jillian says there’s still a lot of time. Like two or three whole weeks. They go to learn some flamenco dancing, which they suck at, but they at least have fun. As the sun sets, they take a scooter to dinner. He reminds her a lot of her dad, which she realizes may well sound creepy. She’s worried that Kiptyn’s too soft and may not call her out when she needs it, but he reassures her that if he’s got an opinion about something, he’ll let her know. Since she is not sure yet about the direction they’re going, Jillian has decided to reject the offer to spend the night in the fantasy suite, but she does want to go back and hang out for a while.

Jillian wants to find out how Reid feels about her. When she’s around him, she can’t stop giggling. He tells her she looks muy bonita, which exhausts his Spanish knowledge. Her Spanish is about as good as his, so the process of ordering from a butcher in Seville proves to be comedic. His family loved her, though he imagines she was just as good with the other three families and Wes’ band. Reid thinks he’s in love. Maybe. He realizes that he’s slow at these things, perhaps slower than the other guys may be. They get the fantasy suite card. He’s leaving this up to her. She declines with him as well, but he doesn’t appear to even get an invite back to spend some time on the bed.

As much as Jillian likes Ed, she missed out on a lot when he abandoned her, such as the hometown dates. They hop on a carriage ride, where he believes he’s starting over. The carriage ride is focused entirely on his leaving and why he decided to come back. She wants to know what it would have been like if she did have the opportunity to meet the family. His response is that everyone would have loved her, and they wouldn’t have had any concerns. That all sounds a little bit too easy. Jillian’s plan is to ask him some serious questions, but for now, her plan is to just keep kissing him. She’s not real sure what her concerns are, since she hasn’t had time to develop those concerns. He wants to know how open she is to moving because it doesn’t sound like he has any interest in moving. Although Ed is interested in spending the night with Jillian, she does not want to spend the night with him either. That lasts about two seconds before she decides to go back to the suite with him. Because he bailed on her, he gets what the two previous guys could not get. They’re greeted by a hallway lined with candles, champagne and strawberries, and of course one bed.

Jillian heads to Barcelona to meet Wes, who would feel at home living around Spanish people because he had a song on his second album that was #1 in Chihuahua, Mexico. This guy just doesn’t quit. They get on bicycles to ride through the parks. Jillian’s a little worried about Wes’ lack of affection. While he’s talking to her about how she’s perfect and he could bear his soul to her, he’s sitting as far away from her as he can. Hypothetically speaking, they’ve decided that he will move to Vancouver. That would be… crazy. Okay, so how about meeting her in the middle? His response: that bird has no foot. Then he spills his beer.

She drops it, but then at dinner, she brings up the Laurel issue again. He doesn’t want to talk about it, as usual. As for the music thing, he’s gotten about all the publicity he needs from this, so he can now go home with that mission accomplished. If he really cared for her, maybe he would have kissed her at least once during their date. The other guys sure have. Wes responds that, if she wants him to show her affection, she will need to be dumb enough to tell him that he’s the one first. Numero uno is most important here. Okay, so how about let’s go back to Laurel. Why would Jake give a specific name? He told Jake the whole story about his girlfriend… uh, I mean, ex-girlfriend…

Will Jillian invite Wes back to the fantasy suite? He’d like to go to the suite with her, but now it’s about time she punch him in the face, which unfortunately does not happen (would have made great TV). She has finally realized that he may have something to hide. He may have something to hide? She feels sorry for him and puts him in a taxi to send him away.

In what was a bye week for the other three guys, Wes has finally gotten kicked off the show after Jillian’s weeks of denial end. He probably didn’t quite get the amount of fame he hoped for, but at least he leaves without his dignity. In his limo ride home, Wes admits he’s got a girlfriend.
