Japanese tech-honcho has officially announced its two new water resistant smartphones in its Xperia series. Sony Xperia Go and Sony Xperia Acro S, both of these handsets are expected to break their cover on the UK streets in the Q3 of 2012.

These Sony Xperia mobile phones flaunt a scratch-resistant mineral glass atop displays. Apart from the water, these are also resistant to dust. Sony Xperia acro S meets the IP57 rating and is protected against most dust and short immersions up to 30 min in shallow water of up to 1m. On the other hand, Sony Xperia go is IP67 rated and provides the similar water resistance as Xperia acro, but is more dust tight

Sony Xperia acro S is also going to be the first smartphone of its maker, which would be pre-loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. In contrast, Xperia go would go in the market packed with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and would get ICS update later.

While Xperia acro S is targeted at high-end market, its sibling would cater to the mid-end segment.   Acro S is empowered by 1.5 GHz dual core processor compared to 1GHz dual core processor of Xperia go. Further, camera megapixels also differ 12MP and 5MP respectively. The Reality Display is 4.3-inches 720p on the former and 3.5-inches on Xperia Go with wet finger tracking. Acro S is also PlayStation Suite certified.

Sony has confirmed that both of these handsets will ship globally in Q3 of 2012.

Motorola is all set  to bring to  its handsets, latest OS Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on the  Droid Razr series of handsets.

The videos have been  released  by the Motorola Japan, that shows the operations and  running of  new OS on the Droid Razr device.

Motorola has gone ahead and given his own Ice Cream Sandwich and has  replaced the icon of the  smart phone and has added a array of features.

The  biggest  difference is the change in the  four shortcuts that appear on the lock screen of the  phone. Motorola has added messaging and dialer shortcuts to the Android 4.0 camera and options of unlock options.

In the Motorola device, standard camera app has also been updated  that  consists of  time lapse feature. With this you can capture photos while shooting the  videos as well. In total,  not all the Motorola handsets will get upgrade to Android 4.0.

Only,last week, the company has proclaimed  that the new OS is touted  to be available only on the leading handset( top handsets) of the Motorola. These include Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx.

The decision of the Motorola to  make it available on few devices is  interesting taking into account the   recent  acquisition  by  Google. There were speculations that Google might want  the latest OS to be present on all the devices. Motorola  has given complete flexibility in dealing with parent company.

Nokia has come up with bottom range of the Lumia series with Nokia Lumia 610, a capable Windows Phone at the press conference held in UK.

The stock of the Lumia 610 will reach the market by first week of June. According to the spokesperson,the device will reach the shop latest by first week of June. As per the reliable sources, the new budget friendly phone will be available in the market through stellar operators in UK at £15 per month in two year contract. The leading  mobile operator,O2 prices start at £13.50 per month rendering free handset and lot of exciting offers.

This is a new feature for the consumers who did not believe that we have such wide offering for the  users. Presently, the Finnish firm hasn’t mentioned the price for the SIM free version. However, in Italy the device is on sale at €199.90.. While in UK, Expansys is rendering it at £189.99 with free delivery.

Nokia Lumia 610 comes in bright four colors such as black, white, magenta and cyan. It is fourth Windows Phone from the Finnish firm.  With Nokia Lumia 900 at the top and Lumia 800 just below it, Nokia  has added Lumia 610 and Lumia 710 at the bottom offering wide range to the buyers. The Nokia Lumia 900 comes with screen of 4.3 in display , while the other are featured with screen of 3.7in screen. There is presence of AMOLED screen, all the models run on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango).

As per the recent report  in New York Times, Facebook  is soon going to have a smartphone of its own. The paper has quoted that the CEO of  Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg just does not want to be  an app.

According  to the recent reports this weekend , the  Facebook is all more keen and  interested in launching their very own  branded smartphone. The company has also started recruitment  drive to bring in top engineers  for the designing and creation of the device.

As per the latest  report, CEO Mark Zuckerberg is so involved with the project that he himself is interviewing the candidates. The project has been named Buffy. This step has been taken by  Mark as he does not want his company to be  “just another app”.

As per the employee working on this secret project- Mark is worried that his multi million company should not simply be an app.  He is keen on creating the  mobile phone in near future that would be best  in the market.

If  these reports are  true, it won’t be the first time that  any social network company  is  trying to make  its foothold in the mobile market. The company is thought to be working on the device with  HTC. In last years, INQ has also launched the handsets with deep Facebook attributes. But, as per the NYT attributes, the device will be designed and created in house.

It seems that the wait for the official launch of the Google’s very own tablet is ending. Rumours are going strong that the tablet designed and  created by Google will be surfacing anytime in June.

These  reports have come up through reliable source like Digitimes which is an upstream supply chain source. According to them Google is working  together with Asus to bring out entry level tablet.  The point to be noted  here that this tablet was earlier slated for May launch.

The source also confirms that the Google tablet will come on board with  display of  7-inches.  With this the most  popular  search engine Google is set to take on Amazon Kindle Fire- another tablet soon reaching the market.

Design and costs fail to reach the demand

Google Nexus tablet is all set for shipping in June. With  initial 600,000 units  that are stated to make their entry to the stores.  These are set to for sale in July. And it is expected that  good  2 million  units will  be sold in 2012.

As per the report, Google  knowingly held the  tablet as the  overall design and  costs of the tablet did not reach as expected. It was delayed due to some  minor changes.

This news seem very real as  Asus was already in news  for designing and  creating the Nexus tablet. Besides, the 7 inch tablet  from Google has been news for long time now.

On the annual Google I/O conference  that is to be  held on June 27-29 one can expect the official announcement of the Google Tablet.

Nokia has come  open  that  it’s budget  phone Lumia 610 device is not  that  powerful to run Windows Phone Skype app. The company has now stopped the  further  download of the app in the device.

The manufacturer when launched the Lumia 610 allowed  users to download free VoIP  when the app was launched last month. Even though  the  memory of the handset was not capable enough to support  it, with only half the memory on board.

Lumia 610 comes with internal memory of  just 256MB RAM. And for the Skype to run efficiently, minimum 512 MB is necessary to give optimum power to the same.

This naturally means that Nokia’s test- drive didn’t come out well. The company however claims that even though Skype was functional it  did not match company’s standards.

According to the Finns,Nokia gives immense importance to the overall experience of the users with its products and services. And with Skype not working according to the expected level, it was withdrawn from the budget Nokia Lumia 610.

Hence, we do not recommend  our users  to use Skype on Nokia Lumia 610. Users in the Windows Phone Marketplace will  not be able to download Skype. With Windows Phone Version Skype users are free to download Skype.

Even  though Microsoft was there, Skype was late entrant to the Windows phone affiliation. With  official launch last  month. Skype wasn’t approved well  by the users even with original UI.

With launch  of the Apple handset due in October , there are reports  of  Sony  working on the display  of the Apple iPhone 5.

Apple has been  continuously working on the iPhone 5, with  Sony working on the  display of this hi tech gadget since  February.

Getting ready for the high demand and  record  sales. Sony, has claimed  to be the component supplier for the iPhone 4S  follow up as well.  The company is said to be working on the display panels  for the  highly anticipated iPhone 5. The production of the  display will come to end by this month.

The release of the device is  stated for late September or early October. The recent  overall increase in the production of the panel has  added to  more speculation that the iPhone 5 will reach the device on time.

Even though, Digitimes has not spilled the beans about the source, from which it has received this news. But, its news about the Tizen toting HTC phone is certain to create ripples in the market particularly in the camp of Android.

Tech-world is already aware of the news that mobile phone makers have been finding a way to ween themselves off the Android. Samsung has made heavy investment in developing the Tizen OS, which is compatible for mobile phones, Smart TVs as well as cars.
