<p>Generate More Bookings with Ease in Your Direct Sales Business</p>

<p>If you want to generate more bookings in your direct sales business, and you want to generate those bookings with ease, you need to look at reasons why your prospects would want to book a home party with you in the first place.  Most direct sales consultants think that the reason their prospects book a home show is to get free product, and that&#8217;s why they almost always lead with getting free product as the reason to book a home party.</p>
<p>What if you could improve your results by digging deeper and finding an even more compelling reason to book a home show, would you want to do that?  If so, pay close attention to the marketing lesson within the following story of how I developed a large group of people to want something I offer.</p>
<p><span id="more-130"></span></p>
<p>There&#8217;s really only one reason people read my weekly ezine. Some would say that they read it because they learn so much from it.  Others would say they read it because they think I&#8217;m such a good writer. But those are not the real reasons why they read it.  There&#8217;s truly only one reason they read it at all.</p>
<p>The real reason my subscribers read my weekly ezine is that I present them with an offer they can&#8217;t refuse while signing up for my it.  Here&#8217;s my offer: &#8220;Learn 3 simple secrets to building an empire in your direct sales business by giving me your first name and email address.&#8221; You see, the real reason my subscribers read my weekly ezine is that I begin by generating their interest with an offer of something they actually want.  So what does all this have to do with you and achieving success in your direct sales business?  Keep reading because you&#8217;re going to start seeing some similarities.</p>
<p>A major point I want you to understand is that no one reads my ezine because I say, &#8220;Hey, wanna get a free ezine targeted to the direct sales industry from me every week?&#8221; It&#8217;s true that I could have asked that of each of my subscribers, and maybe a few would have said, &#8220;Yes.&#8221; But the majority probably would have said, &#8220;No thanks.&#8221;</p>
<p>Likewise, you can jump-start your direct sales business once you pick up the phone and simply ask a few casual acquaintances if they would consider hosting a home party demonstration to get some free products. However, asking someone to host a home party demonstration for that reason would be similar to me asking you if you wanted to get a free weekly ezine. However, even that activity can generate bookings in your calendar, therefore, another major point is: Activity overrules inactivity any day of the week.</p>
<p>But the secret to generating new bookings with ease is identifying something that your prospects would love to have and then presenting those prospects with an irresistible offer. You have to get inside your customers&#8217; shoes and really ask yourself, &#8220;What do my customers actually want?&#8221; If you think the answer to that question is &#8220;free products,&#8221; you haven&#8217;t thought much about your prospects.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s look at my offer. When I thought about my prospects I knew that I could offer them a free weekly ezine filled with direct sales tips and direct sales strategies.  But I had to ask myself, &#8220;Do my prospects actually want that?&#8221; In order to discover the answer to that I simply pictured my prospects going to bed at night and not being able to fall asleep. What was keeping them awake? Well, certainly not this thought, &#8220;Oh, if only I could get a free ezine targeted to direct sales! Then every thing would be all right.&#8221; HA! FAT CHANCE!</p>
<p>I knew that if anything in their business were keeping them awake at night it would have something to do with difficulty, how this business isn&#8217;t as easy as they thought it would be. Then I thought about things that could really help make this business easier. And ultimately I narrowed those things down to three things. Still another major point is that I didn&#8217;t just say &#8220;3 Things to&#8230;,&#8221; I said, &#8220;3 Simple Things&#8230;&#8221; You see, I know that my ideal prospects want and need simplicity in their business because their lives are already busy and complicated enough as it is.</p>
<p>The other thing I considered was that the bigger my prospects build their business, they not only earn more money, they experience leverage. By the way, &#8220;leverage&#8221; is another word for &#8220;opportunity&#8221; in project/risk management. By telling my prospects that I had 3 simple secrets to building an empire in their direct sales business, I capitalized on several of their desires &#8211; simplicity and leverage of time and money.</p>
<p>Hey, I can actually picture my prospects going to bed at night wishing they knew an easier way to make money and wishing there were a few more hours in the day! Do you ever go to bed with either of those thoughts?</p>
<p>What I&#8217;ve just shown you is the secret to generating new bookings with the people and strangers you meet every day. Offer a solution to one or more of their challenges. Stop offering free products (for example: a free facial) and start offering something they want (for example: taking 3-5 years off their face).  You need to think about the problem to which your products are the solution. Yes&#8230; this just might require some deeper thinking on your part. Final major point: if you skip this, you&#8217;ll be veering off the critical path to building a truly successful direct sales business.</p>

<p>Now is the time to become a &#8220;smart&#8221; entrepreneur about your business by doing more not less.  What I mean by &#8220;doing more&#8221; is increasing your sales and marketing efforts.  Instead of pulling back as many entrepreneurs are currently doing, beat out your competitors by finding new ways to stay visible.</p>
<p>An economic slowdown can be a problem for your business if you allow it to be.  Or, it can be an opportunity to gain new clients and boost your sales if you know and have mastered the marketing and sales methods that work best during these times.</p>
<p>Right now, many successful entrepreneurs are rubbing their hands together in eager anticipation of new opportunities because they know many of their competitors are pulling back.  With less competition, it makes it easy for them to go after business.</p>
<p><span id="more-126"></span></p>
<p>Consider that although people may be more cautious in spending money, they do still need services.  <strong>The person they&#8217;ll do business with will be the one who provides the best value and finds creative ways to stay in front of them.</strong></p>
<p>Here are six sales strategies to maintain and even increase sales, no matter what&#8217;s going on around you.</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Follow Up.</strong> I&#8217;m amazed to hear entrepreneurs say they only follow up one or two times and sometimes never at all.  People may not be ready today to buy from you but if they expressed interest, they&#8217;ll probably be ready to buy in the next several months.  <strong>They say it can take 7-10 or more touches to move the client to making a buying decision.</strong> You want to come up with creative ways to stay in touch, so when they&#8217;re ready to buy, they&#8217;ll remember you.</li>
<li><strong>Reactivate dormant accounts.</strong> Reaching out to past clients can make customers for life.  Let them know you&#8217;re there for them and be generous by offering some ideas to help them in their businesses.  One phone call can make a huge difference. Think about it.  When was the last time a past vendor called you with some ideas for your business?  <strong>When you go the extra mile and show them you&#8217;re there to help them, they&#8217;ll appreciate you and remember that when they&#8217;re ready to do business.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Make special offers.</strong> Offer a product or service at a special low fee for a limited time.  Give catchy names to these special offers.  Some examples are: Close-out Sale, Scratch and Dent Sale, Half Price Sale, Birthday Sale, My Dog Maxx&#8217;s Birthday Sale, Xmas Sale, Coupon Sale, Free 30-Day Trial.  <strong>You&#8217;ll need to put a time limit on the offer to encourage people to buy now and not later.</strong> Also, it helps to explain why you&#8217;re having the sale, so they know you don&#8217;t just drop prices whenever you feel like it.</li>
<li><strong>Up sell to generate additional revenue.</strong> When a client purchases your product, you can offer other services at a nominal fee that will compliment the product they&#8217;ve just purchased.  This is done in many places. For example, at many hotels they now charge you a &#8216;resort fee&#8217; of $20 a day.  And for that fee, they list a series of amenities you receive.  <strong>Although this is a small fee, with the volume of customers, this fee adds up.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Add value to your existing service. </strong> During times when your customers may be concerned about pricing, another way to win them over is offering the best value for their dollar.  You can do this by enhancing your service with &#8220;extras.&#8221;  <strong>An extra might be faster delivery than your competitors, a larger selection, easier payment options, or a better guarantee.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Be positive. </strong> I&#8217;m a big believer in staying positive.  Now is the time to surround yourself with positive people, say positive affirmations daily, read books that make you feel good, listen to people who share their secrets for achieving success, take time to nurture yourself, and <strong>most of all believe in yourself and stay in action!</strong></li>
</ol>

<p>Write down a list of your goals for the new year, for your direct sales business.  Write down three goals for the year, three goals for the month, and three goals for next week.</p>

<p>Stick to these goals and keep on working on your direct sales business.  A good month is a good thing, but don&#8217;t let your guard down&#8230; you need to keep at it!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you run a direct sales business, you know how well the holiday can be for your income.  As the time for gift giving approaches, you need to make sure your business is in people&#8217;s minds as they search for gift ideas for family and friends.  It doesn&#8217;t matter what your direct sales business product line is, the holidays can be huge for your sales.  Whether it is gift cards, actual products, or parties, the end of the year can be the way you finish the year with a bang.</p>
<p>1. A VIP Customer Card:  create a card with anywhere from 6 to 10 circles, stars, or logos.  Give them to customers and tell them after 10 purchases, they get one product free.  Make sure you specify the value of the free item.  If you offer a service, tell the customer that after the 6th, 8th, or 10th service, they will receive a specified discount on the next order.</p>
<p>2. Goodie Bags: Nothing makes good customers more happy, when dealing with direct sales, than free items.  Package up a business card, holiday specials flyer, and a free product ($1-$3 value).  Give these goodie bags to your best customers.  Drop them off on their front doorsteps, mail them, or hand deliver them.  Sure, this will cost you, but usually you can expect to convert 1 out of 4 of these into sales.  So keep that in mind when putting this package together.</p>

<p>3.  Create your own holiday specials:  Send out a flyer to all of your past customers offering a discount or free items in exchange for their purchases.  Let&#8217;s say that you get a 30% commission from sales, offer customers a 10 or even 20% discount on their holiday orders.  Yes, this will cut into your commission, but you will also get a huge surge in sales.  Use this technique to kick start a stagnant holiday season in terms of sales.</p>
<p>When looking for direct selling holiday ideas, just remember you need to keep your direct business fresh in your customers eyes.  Give them a reason to want to spend their money on gifts from your business.</p>

<p>Another GREAT reason that <strong>working in direct sales as a college student</strong> is that direct sales business thrive in social atmospheres.  When working direct sales in college, you will have an endless supply of leads and customers if you are in the correct direct sales business.  Your friends, classmates, roomates, and dorm mates will all either be interested in the products or know many friends and family that are interested. </p>

<p>So, to summarize this <strong>opportunity for direct sales in college</strong>, you get the best of both worlds.  Great flexibility and endless supply of customers and leads.  On top of this, you can make great money in direct sales.  No bosses, no schedules, good money&#8230;. sounds like the college dream.</p>
