Iphone OS 4

Yesterday Steve presented us the new Iphone OS 4. I’m pretty happy with the new features, do i see multitasking? haha =D I love the new App Folders, its a pretty good feature, it lets us organize our apps in folders and this is a key to keep our iphone homescreen organized.

Notable new features for users :

Multitasking.
Spell check (like on the iPad).
Bluetooth keyboard support (again, on the iPad).
User-defined wallpaper (a jailbreak favorite).
Tap to focus when recording video, just like with photos, and a 5x digital zoom for the camera.
Playlist creation and nested playlists.
App folders for sorting apps! You can even put an app folder in the dock.
Enhanced Mail! You can have a merged inbox view, switch between inboxes quickly, and sync to more than one Exchange account. There’s also threaded messaging (at last!) and in-app attachment viewing.
iBooks, just like on iPad, only smaller. You can wirelessly sync books between platforms, a la Kindle.
Enterprise features, including remote device management and wireless app distribution.
Game Center. It’s like Xbox Live, but for iPhone games. Includes achievements, leaderboards, and match making. It will be available as a “developer preview,” and out for consumers later this year.

Developers are getting plenty of new tricks too:

New SDK, available today.
1,500 new APIs.
Background audio (think Pandora).
Background VoIP (think Skype).
Background location data, both with live GPS for backgrounded turn-by-turn, and cell tower-based for lower power draw.
Local notifications. Like push notifications, but sends a notification straight from the app without needing a push notification server, perfect for an alarm, for instance.
Fast app switching. Saves the state of an app and resumes it from where you left off, without dwelling in memory.
iAd. Apple says it’s for keeping “free apps free.” The ads keep you in the app, while also taking over the screen and adding interactivity — using HTML 5 for video — up to simple gaming in-ad. Apple will offer a 60 / 40 split on revenue, and users can even buy apps straight from an ad.
In-app SMS.
Map overlays.
Quick look for previewing documents.
Photo Library access.
Calendar access.
Full access to the camera.
Video playback and capture.
Date and address “data detectors.”
Automated testing and performance / power analysis (the same tools Apple uses).

That’s true boys and girls, four months since my last post and there’s a reason for this: NO TIME AT ALL.

First, i want to thanks everyone who missed me and sent me an email.

Second, sorry but my professional life is more important than this blog, sadly.

Third, in summer i’ll have some time to write, i hope.

Goals for 2010!!

I’m sure that 2009 was the best year of my life, I’ve grown so much, learned many interesting shit and enjoyed life as never before. I’ve achieved almost total independence and I’m pretty happy with the results.

I’ll present you my list of goals for the year of 2010.

Pay more attention to egganomaly, i feel like i’m not giving 100%, i’ll try to write often.
Leave my parents house and buy or rent one for me.
Give my first professional presentation about Web.
Finish one of my main projects on hold, probably one connected with my home town.
Adopt a more minimalist lifestyle, i feel that I’ve too much things that I don’t need.
Design a new logo and template for egganomaly.
Travel every three months.
Bungee jumping and skydiving.
Read at least one book per month.
Go back to gym.

And what about your list? I Wanna see your priority goals for 2010.

Christmas 2009

This Christmas was very different from what it used to be, my family broke in two… i don’t really understood why. I had a sense of sadness like if i had missed something or someone. Regardless from that, some friends joined the traditional Christmas Dinner and Lunch and i’m very happy with that, hope they come next year.

The presents wasn’t anything special, common socks, pants, shirts and other unusual things like a “Ring For Sex” Bell. Because i’m going to London next month my parents gave me money to support the trip.

I really hope that all my family rejoined in the next year.

First 2010 Trip (Portugal, England and Scotland)

As many of you know I’m a travel addicted, i can’t stay too long in the same place, so some times I’ve to travel. I’m a very adventure person and I love to learn about other cultures.

Like in the past years in January I travel to England, I love that country, principally London. My journey will start in Sesimbra, I’ll go by car to Setúbal, then i’m taking a train to FARO where I’ll embark on a plane to London(Stansted). I’ll stay in London four days, from 13 to 17, in my cousin house, she has a couch where I can sleep and that’s enough.

This time I’ll stay all the time in London, I want to visit some museums, watch some shows and probably any photography expositions available at that time. I’m thinking if i’ll ride the London Eye, i’m not sure yet.

In 17 January I’ll travel to Glasgow, where I’ll visit other part of my very big family. They live near Edinburgh, but since the flights to Glasgow are very cheap there’s no other best choice. They’ll take me at the airport so I’ll not spend any money in transportation to Edinburgh. I want to visit the Edinburg Dungeon, I’ve been there in 2006 and loved it! Its very dynamic, you follow a story and discovery dark secrets from the past. It’s not that scary but its a cool place to go.

The returning will be in 20 January, a sad day i presume.

The planning is not complete, I’m searching for cool places to go where I haven’t been yet.

With me I’ll bring Sofia Mendonça, an outstanding interior designer who enjoys life as i do. I’m very pleased that she goes with me.

This is probably my most inexpensive travel of all time, I’m spending only the necessary to reach places. Using less luggage is a bonus. Staying in family/friend houses is the best option ever, sure you’ll have less privacy but is a low price to pay for a 100% free bed.

I’ll take my Canon 5D with me, surely I’ll take a zillion photos

I’m having no time to post and there’s a reason for it.
At this moment i’m in some projects that takes all my day, and the free time is only to sleep and eat.

In the next days I’ll try to post more and talk about all this projects, i hope.

Google Wave is “a personal communication and collaboration tool” announced by Google at the Google I/O conference on May 27, 2009.[1][2] It is a web-based service, computing platform, and communications protocol designed to merge e-mail, instant messaging, wikis, and social networking.[3] It has a strong collaborative and real-time [4] focus supported by extensions that can provide, for example, spelling/grammar checking, automated translation among 40 languages,[2] and numerous other extensions.[4] Initially released only to developers, a “preview release” of Google Wave was extended to nearly 1 million users beginning September 30, 2009, with the initial 100,000 users each allowed to invite from twenty to thirty additional users.
