Liberal Jewish group launches political lobbying arm

WASHINGTON (RNS) Bend the Arc, a liberal Jewish group that has advocated for social justice causes for more than 30 years, last week (July 18) launched a lobbying arm and political action committee to give it more weight on Capitol Hill and across the nation.

The move is unusual, if not unique. There seem to be no other Jewish groups with a broad agenda that have such lobbying tools at their disposal, said Rabbi David Saperstein, who heads the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism. . . .

At a Capitol Hill event last week, Bend the Arc introduced Bend the Arc Jewish Action and Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC. “Today marks the beginning of a new chapter of activism, rooted in Jewish values, where we will aggressively fight for the nation’s most vulnerable with all available political advocacy tools,” said Alan van Capelle, CEO of Bend the Arc. . . .

Capitalism and Democracy, Out of Balance in America?

Tragically (. . .for the American people), many of the corporations controlling Congress actually have no national loyalties whatsoever.

--------------------------------------

It's time for the excesses ushered in by Reaganomics to be corrected by letting the pendulum swing back to the left toward true moderation and goodness for everyone--not just the big companies who spend all the money they don't have to pay in taxes to buy the laws that allow them to forgo them and invest off-shore for further economic escape.

"Alexi's my friend…I know his character. You can trust him. You can count on him...On his very first day in office, Alexi enacted sweeping ethics reforms. He's proven himself as someone who isn't afraid to stand up to special interests...Alexi's not funding this campaign with federal or lobbyist money. Not a dime. He's not doing this to help the lobbyists...That's the kind of person you want in the United States Senate." - President Obama

There is your “social self” and “essential self”. Your essential self is your true self. It alone knows what you need to thrive. It tries to send that knowledge up through your social self like seedlings struggling up through the dirt to break surface, seek sunlight. You get glimme
