Allen played in a total of 38 events on the 2011 PDGA Tour and she placed in the top six of all three PDGA Majors she entered, top 4 at five NTs, and won 8 SuperTour events. To say Ricky Wysocki had a terrific season last year would be quite an understatement. Hitting the road for the first time, Ricky played in 44 events and racked up 15 wins, including a PDGA Major. Not too shabby for the 18-year old, who discovered disc golf just 4 years ago. To top it off, Ricky was chosen over 6 other finalists as the 2011 Rookie of the Year.

David Feldberg, Valarie Jenkins Winners at Disc Golf's CSUMB Otter Open - Yahoo! Sports:

The CSUMB Otter Open took place in Seaside, on the beautiful central coast of California, over the weekend of February 18-19 at the CSUMB Oaks Disc Golf Course. With many of the world's top disc golf professionals competing in this PDGA sanctioned A-Tier event, it was David Feldberg of Portland, Oregon who emerged the winner in the men's open division with a final score of 25-under par.

The women's open division winner was three-time Women's World Champion Valarie Jenkins from Capitola, California with a final score of 13-over par. Jenkins has a lot been doing many great things to help get more women involved in the sport, and is ranked the number one female disc golfer in the world.

The 34th annual Wintertime Open for Pros took place in Pasadena, CA over the weekend of February 18-19, 2012 at the Oak Grove Disc Golf Course in Hahamongna Park. Disc golfers got to enjoy the comfortable winter climate of southern California, and with 69 players coming out to compete, it was Paul McBeth, 2011 NT Champion of Huntington Beach, California who captured the win with an impressive final score of 30-under par.

Love Sunday!

Carpooled with JB [Jon Baldwin] to Pinto Lake, where we met Tony Tran, Troy Farrington & Scottie D to play around of Disc Golf.

The beauty of Pinto, not withstanding the surrounding geography, is how tranquil it is compared to DeLaVeaga.

This was my first round at Pinto since the Worlds back in August. It was an unbelievably beautiful day for the end of January, with temps approaching 70 degrees. I started off poorly, with bogeys on 3 of the first 4 holes. I finally started to play smarter when we reached the meadow, and finished the round at 1 over par, with a bogey on the last hole.

We saw the John Hernlund birthday group on hole #1 as we were finishing: John, his wife Christine, Sharon & Leroy Jenkins, Merle Witvoet and Teri Duncan amongst others, were all having a great time.

More importantly, I was able to throw my new 'blizzard' discs that I received from HeroDiscUsa.com, and I am amazed at the increased distance I am getting. I am partial to the Katana and the Wraith, as the Destroyer and Boss are somewhat overstable for my arm speed. If you have not tried these discs yet, you need to!

I don't know how many of you play or have heard of Disc Golf, but there is a new course that was installed less than an hour away that is facing some unwarranted opposition and has actually cause the baskets at the course to be pulled while an official "review" is done to measure the environmental impact.
