Just discovered this great Disco-gem thanks to the blog "Overfitting Disco".
I have been following this blog for quite a while now and it always brings me to new tracks and ideas somehow .. no full downloads on this blog but the 30 second samples of the very rare and obscure disco + electro tracks always get me going for sure !.
They DO have 24/7 streaming disco-radio though which kicks ass .. it's the best !.
Anyway: this track is from a German group "Air" (not to be mistaken by the French band with the same name). This disco-act only released one single "Warp Factor One" in 1980, but what a great track it is !.

After a period of being somewhat inactive on the disco-scene (on the internet anyway) things are picking up again: a new YouTube account is up + running and i'll upload lots of videos in the next few months !. Apart from that i've always wanted to stream Disco-videos 24/7 .. so that's what i set out to do in 2010 !. For now i've signed up with UStream and am testing it now on my website. For now it's just great (Italo) discomusic with streaming video from my (crappy) webcam .. but hey: it's online for now !. Within a week or two there will be a dedicated 2nd Pc to serve all the real disco-videos to the website (which i'm starting up again from scratch as well).
2010 is a great year for new beginnings for sure !.
If you are into disco-videos from 1974-1988, keep watching this space or the main website.

Starting to upload some more videos to YouTube again.
When previous YouTube accounts get deleted one has to come up with new videos, or new (extended) versions of videos, and uploading these videos in High-Quality, so that's what i'm gonna do as from now (as i don't want to repeat myself or others .. so no stuff that's already on YouTube).
Anyway: here's an extended videomix of this great 1985 track bij Alba in HQ (Italian Festivalbar 1985). The original Festivalbar video was a lot shorter and broke of halfway the track, this is a full version. Enjoy!.

Well, once again my last YouTube account has been 'suspended' (deleted) a few weeks ago .. hundreds of video's and over a million comments gone overnight .. oh well, it's just my 'virtual' life thank God !.
The question now is: do i start uploading video's to YouTube all over again or do i seek some alternative way to get my vid's 'out there' ?.
The plan for now is to start Disco-Tv soon (not using YouTube) and i'm well underway getting it all worked out and online soon !. Disco-Tv will be a mix of all kinds of Discomusic (Soul, Boogie, Italo, Electro and even some New-Wave + current Eurodisco stuff as well). For now there is a Test-Version online at the main site www.discoimperium.com where you can see the other content that's on the site as well.

Over the years there have been a lot of great 'Disco Ladies' that have released a lot of great 'Electrodisco' tracks (ever since Donna Summer's "I Feel Love") and Sylvia Love has contributed to that list of all time favorite Electrodisco classics for sure !!. The 'Electro Disco' scene is getting a whole new lease of life nowadays as people from that generation are re-discovering it all over again .. but this time 'round these people (together with new and younger generations) don't want to just hear the commercial "I Feel Love" kinda tracks anymore but are also more into the somewhat lesser known tracks from that Era (1977 to 1987).
(Online) record companies + stores have been noticing this and are digitizing and releasing these tracks all over again, mostly on compilation Cd's and online.
Here are a few a great new releases on Cd from the 'Disco Discharge' Cd releases including all time electrodisco favorites: "Instant Love" (Disco Discharge - Disco Ladies) and "Extraterrestrial Lover" (Disco Discharge - Euro Disco) by Sylvia Love.
