I attended the screening with my tween daughter and found it to be appropriate for her age group. This, of course is a matter of opinion. If your child is sensitive to any sort of violence you may want to refrain.  We shared more laughs in the film than cringes and from the reaction of my fellow movie goers, the sentiment was shared.  The film was full of both wit and action and I enjoyed hearing the fans cheer in the theater for the hero that they had an affinity for.

I also have to admit that as a Disneyphile, I was a tad bit disenchanted when I learned of the Disney/Marvel marriage.  I thought it might muddy the Disney waters.  However, this film knocked my socks off and I can’t wait to see what the studio has in store for Disney and Marvel fans alike moving forward.

I don’t want to include any spoilers in this review. I do want to disclose that our pre-screening was complementary, but I enjoyed the film so much that I will be paying to go see it again in theaters when it opens tomorrow. It’s THAT good!

The official synopsis…”Marvel Studios presents “Marvel’s The Avengers”—the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Oh..I will add one piece of advice here at the end. Make sure you stay seated in the theater until after the credits have rolled. There’s something you’re not going to want to miss!  Now ASSEMBLE yourself immediately and head out to your local theater to see “Marvel’s The Avengers”!

Super Cute! Tutorial available at Bake Happy

I’ve even been known to eat there twice in one day and I did just that on a recent stay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort with my pal Theme Park Mom.

My favorite thing to get is a cheeseburger -juicy beef patty served on a fresh baked bun. Single $9.49; Double $14.49 …with onion rings (an up-charge, but the best onion rings on property)…

OR I’ll just skip the protien and devour an entire bowl of onion rings by themselves

and then for dessert, a 2-scoop coffee ice cream sundae with marshmallow fluff topping.  All sundaes come standard with sliced almonds and a cherry and the majority of the toppings are put at the bottom of the serving vessel as the ice cream is piled so high that “toppings” would fall off the top!

This is the Frozen Sunshine - orange sherbet, vanilla ice cream and seltzer, blended to perfection, topped with whipped cream, and a candied orange slice $4.99 …and yes, they give you the lil bit of extra “sunshine” in the mixing cup!

This is the Fudge Mud Slide - A gooey chewy Brownie, Hot Fudge, Three Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, Oreo Cookies, topped with Whipped Cream and a Cherry $7.99 and Milky Way Sundae - Bundt Cake topped with three scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Butterscotch, Whipped Cream and a Cherry $7.99.  If I can’t secure a booth here I like to sit up at the bar and watch them make these frozen creations!

Another monster you may want to tackle is the No Way Jose - A Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge Delight with Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Morsels, Whipped Cream and a Cherry $7.99

Here’s a look at the Strawberry Shortcake - Slice of Angel Food Cake, Vanilla Ice Cream, Strawberry Topping, Whipped Cream, Rainbow Sprinkles and a Cherry $5.99

If you’re not in the mood for a burger, then there must be something wrong with you…but really, I can also recommend the Roast Beef Sub - Grilled Roast Beef with Au Jus and topped with Provolone Cheese, Grilled Onions, and Peppers $12.49 and if you are eating healthy, simply ask your server sub out fruit for your fries (there really must be something wrong with you).

If you’re from New York, you can ask them to make you an Egg Cream…YUCK!  Which my friend ,who ordered this concoction, whom is from New York, says is neither egg nor cream.  Think of a chocolate milk soda.  Love how they floated the B.C. logo on top! Depending on who is working at the time you may or may not get this item as it is not on the menu but Disney Cast Members are oh so accommodating!

…of course the restaurant is best known for their Kitchen Sink - Eight Scoops of Ice Cream served with all the Toppings in the house and a whole can of Whipped Cream $23.99 You can see a picture and read about that over here.  Well…Here’s a Teaser!

Also, if you want to swap out any of the ice cream flavors in any of their signature Ice Cream Creations, including the Kitchen Sink, just ask. The server will be happy to make the adjustment for you.  Many folks “in-the-know” will also inquire about the flavor of the month, which of course changes from month to month. Last month it was Dulce de Leche.

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is nestled in between the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts by the pool.  They do NOT take reservations and I have found that getting there right at opening (11am) is best as there is limited seating inside the restaurant itself.  We have been the first customers of the day and were welcomed in grand style with flashing lights and clapping and were dubbed “the first family of the day”! Woo Hoo!  If you try and get seated around 9pm when Illuminations is wrapping up over at Epcot, good luck. You will probably have to wait 45 minutes to an hour.  The restaurant closes at 11pm.  There is also a “To-Go” area of the restaurant with a limited ice-cream menu, where you can get your treat to go and sit at one of the tables near the pool area.

Of course what review would be complete without showing you around the restaurant! Kitschy-Coo!

It would be an understatement to say that I loved lodging at this resort. I was over the moon! So glad that we were able to stay here for a much needed girls weekend/media trip and I snapped as many pictures as possible with all of my fellow DisneySMMoms attendees in mind. Counting down the days until the celebration is here!!!
