Disney, Indiana - Episode 100 - Who Framed Disney, Indiana?

Hello everyone and welcome to a very special episode, number 100! For this milestone episode our hosts decided to cover something near and dear to co-host Scott's heart. That's right, it's time for Wall-to-Wall Roger Rabbit in Disney, Indiana!

They start off in Belle's books with a look at what started it all with a review of Gary K. Wolf's 1981 novel Who Censored Roger Rabbit? After that, they head over to the Main Street Cinema to review the 1988 classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit, directed by Robert Zemeckis and released by Disney-owned Touchstone Pictures. Besides the film, they also review the three Roger Rabbit shorts released to the Big Screen.

Once they finish their popcorn, they return to Belle's to review Gary K. Wolf's follow-up novel Who P-P-P-Plugged Roger Rabbit? and end their journey around Toontown at the Ink and Paint Club to talk about how Roger Rabbit and his pals have been used at the Disney parks around the world.

Disney, Indiana - Episode 99 - A Golden Guest Host

Hello everyone! In today's episode, the town high mucky-mucks were called away for some very important business out of town and were not available to host the show. But don't fear everyone, as our neighborhood cinema projectionist Mortis was able to fill in and bring you the episode this week.

In today's episode, Tracey and Scott continue their year-long examination of the cartoon shorts of the Walt Disney Company with a look at Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is March's Salute to Shorts segment. They'll discuss the history of the character, review some of the shorts, look how Disney lost and then regained this classic character.

Tracey then stops by Belle's Books to share her thoughts on the book Walt Before Mickey: Disney’s Early Years, 1919-1928 by Timothy S Susanin. It's a book that we've been using as a reference for the Salute to Shorts segments in 2012.

Then our hosts will take a look at the troubled history of John Carter, Disney's newest live action film in theaters now. They will cover the long and strange development history of this project, Disney's current involvement and share their thoughts on this film.

With the cabbages and kings.

Well, we don't have much on cabbages and kings, but we do have a lot of Alice to make up for that! In episode number 94 of the Disney, Indiana podcast our hosts get lost in Wonderland and they take a look at both the 1951 and 2010 Disney Alice and Wonderland films. They take a look at each film's creation, story, music and history before they put them head to head to find out which they enjoy more.

Buzzy over at WWED joins in the madness as well by sharing some songs from both Alice in Wonderland versions, including a rare recording from the 1950 Disney special "One Hour in Wonderland".

Tracey and Scott are not finished with Alice after they leave Wonderland either. They turn their attention to the Alice Comedies created by Walt Disney in the 1920s in this month's Salute to Shorts segment.

They wrap up the show with a call over to the Main Street Cinema and some listener feedback. It's all here in episode 94.

In today's episode, Tracey and Scott bring you their reviews of two different Disney stage shows they attended recently. First they'll talk about seeing a travelling company's performance of Beauty and the Beast: The Musical at Purdue University. Not only do they review this performance, but they'll look at the history of the musical from its start on Broadway.

Then our hosts turn their attention to the tri-state area as they bring you their thoughts on seeing Phineas and Ferb: The Best Live Tour Ever! in Indianapolis. Did the show live up to its name? Did Candace bust the show or did Dr. Doofenshmirtz steal it? They'll give you the details.

Also in this episode is the 40th Flashback feature for the month of November, and it's a sad one for Scott as our hosts look at Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. This attraction is one of Scott's all time favorites. They talk about its history, both in Florida and California, and share some ride audio as well. They will also talk about the removal of the attraction from Florida and where you might find some tributes to the beloved J. Thaddeus Toad.

Disney, Indiana - Episode 082 - While They Were Crusin'

In today’s episode, Tracey and Scott have entrusted Disney, Indiana into the cyber hands of Jessica, the master control program that runs the town. They aren't here to host the show themselves as they are currently on the Disney Wonder somewhere in Alaskan waters.

Jessica has cued up some Walt Disney World audio to share with everyone - all recorded by Tracey and Scott. First up, a recording from May 2009 of the British Invasion from the UK pavilion at Epcot. Then she has some Off Kilter from the same trip performing at the Canadian pavilion. The last bit of audio is a 2010 recording of the Tiki Room: Under New Management from the Magic Kingdom.

We have a very special guest visiting Disney, Indiana this week. The original Belle from the Broadway production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Susan Egan joins our hosts Tracey and Scott at the Ink and Paint club. While waiting for the show, they talk about Susan's career including getting her start in show business, playing Belle on Broadway, voicing Megara in Disney's Hercules, her other Broadway work and musical recordings and her current projects.

After meeting this truly wonderful Disney princess, Tracey and Scott continue their year long celebration of Walt Disney World's 40th Anniversary with a look at the Hall of Presidents in this month's 40th Flashback. They share the audio from the original show from 1971 as well as review the attraction's history and changes over the years.

All this plus a call to the Main Street Cinema to see what Mortis is playing this week, celebrating their third podcasting anniversary and covering some listener feedback.

Yo Ho, Yo Ho it's a Pirates Life for us on episode 73 of the Disney, Indiana podcast. Tracey and Scott begin a four episode marathon looking at Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise.

In this episode they set sail on this adventure by begining this trek at the inspiration for the films - the theme park attraction. They'll look at it's history and have Buzzy play a very special historical recording from the attraction.

Then they turn their attention to the 2003 blockbuster The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. They will look at the making of the film and share their thoughts of the film.

In upcomming episodes they will continue their look at the Pirates films including the next episode's look at Dead Man's Chest.

Tracey and Scott continue the Perspective on Pixar series with a look at 2010's Toy Story 3, sharing their feelings on the film and the recently released blu ray release of this film.

Between these two films, they listen in on WWED where Buzzy plays some songs for both films as well as a ride thru of Toy Story Mania! at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida.

It's been a tough week here is Disney, Indiana. Our hosts lost their puppy Spooner, the namesake of Spooner studios, at the age of almost 15 years. She had been a part of their life since she was a little puppy of 3 months old. Disney, Indiana - Episode 041 - Tempting Fate

Tracey and Scott are at the Disney, Indiana Historical Society's office to lean a little about Downtown Disney's history. But all goes wrong when Tracey grabs the wrong volume and starts learning about the history of New Orleans Square. She deceides to change up the show and talk about this area of Disneyland - this does not sit well with Scott and he stops the show. You see, he's a Indianapolis Colts fan and he sees bad luck with talking about New Orleans Square on the day the Colts are playing the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl 44.

Scott is late for the show again, but it turns out not to be his fault (this time). After that is all straightened out, our hosts take a look at the beginnings of the Pixar Animation Studios. They dig all the way back to its days at Lucasfilm and trace its history up until the release of Toy Story.

They also take a look at the Pixar characters' roles in parades at both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California and share some photos from these parades on their Flickr photo album.

Tracey and Scott invite the residents of Disney, Indiana to "dinner and a movie". They share their impression of the Disney Dining Plan; during their trip to Walt Disney World in December, they qualified for the Free Standard plan by having a Disney Visa card. This was their first time on the plan and they discuss the pros and cons of their experience.

Later, they talk about Bolt - Disney's newest animated feature film. Not only do they give their review of the film, they look a little into the troubled past of the filem and discuss what might have been.

First they look back to their trip to Disneyland in December of 2005. During this trip, they took the Holiday Time at Disneyland tour. Tracey and Scott share the tour with the residents of Disney, Indiana.

Later, they talk about a trip to Walt Disney World in December of 2004 when they took the Yuletide Fantasy Tour. This tour takes you all around the resort, including the parks and resorts. Your hosts share their tour with everyone.

Disney, Indiana - Episode 008 - Runaway Mousefest...

In this episode, Scott and Tracey run a couple of errands around Disney, Indiana and invite their listeners along for the ride.

First, Tracey stops by Belle's Books for a review of two books that focus on the Man behind the Mouse: Walt Disney. She reviews "The Disney Version: The Life, Times, Art and Commerce of Walt Disney" and "Walking Walt".

On his way across town, Scott tunes in to WWED for a little Disney music. Sorry to say, but these weeks tracks are not available for sale.

Stopping at the local video store, Scott reviews the 1995 animated short-subject "Runaway Brain" - providing a synopsis of the story, as well as a couple of audio clips and trivia about the feature. The short is available on Walt Disney Treasures - Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Volume Two

Scott and Tracey meet up at the travel agency to talk about their plans for their December Walt Disney World vacation, which will include their 4th Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and lots of Mousefest activities.

They wrap up the show by talking a bit about a couple of non-Disney podcasts who are "helpin' a brother out". They also welcome several new residents of Disney, Indiana and respond to listener feedback.

Episode 003: What Foolishness Would You Like to See?

"It's time to get things started" with Scott and Tracey! This episode, we devote two segments to a discussion of how the Jim Henson Muppets have become a part of the Disney family.

In segment one, we talk about Muppet*Vision 3D, a wonderful 3D movie attraction found in both Walt Disney World at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and at the Disneyland Resort in the Hollywood Backlot section of Disney's California Adventure. We talk about the buildings, the pre-show and the show itself, sharing some Disney Details and audio clips.

Next, we discuss a show we caught on the local public-access TV station, WDTV: "The Muppets at Walt Disney World".
