The food at Cebu City Sports Club is pretty good. However, the placement of their food somehow is misplaced.

One place has the salad and the main course but the fruits is placed all the way to the end of the main course.

While that may look normal, I would not have minded if they had only one place for all of their food.

The opposite side featured seafood, lechon, siomai and sushi which, for seafood and lechon alone can be considered as part of the main course.

They also have a specific salad buffet if you prefer only salad so that is a pretty good option for health conscious buffs who want to gobble up veggie types only.

This small Korean restaurant is located just beside Cebu Parklane Hotel. The place is not that very neat. There are better Korean restaurants scattered across Cebu where the place looks cleaner than this.

The food is not delicious. I ordered ramen and it did not look the same as the one in their menu. It was only ramen and soup. That's it! A total rip-off.

The sushi like food that we ordered looks the same as the one you see that gets sold in SM. Heck, even SM's version probably looks better since it won't break easily.

The price is overly expensive and they also have an owner that instructs her staff to start cooking when the customer is actually asking what the ingredients are in their menu.

Be careful. Their table has some openings in between and some small roaches might come out all of a sudden.

The staff even took it using his own hand. Yuck! He did not even bother using tissue paper to get it.

Never going back to this joint again!

Allegro is Maribago Bluewater Resort's restaurant serving guests breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. I like the interior design of the place, even more so that they also changed the food setup for breakfast and lunch.

The food is really good. There are enough of varieties to keep your gastronomical temptations in check.

Appetizers, main course, desserts. All pretty good! This was the first time that I gobbled up buffet for breakfast and lunch so I had to limit my intake to a minimum.

If it was only either one of the two buffets, I definitely would have eaten more.

Service is good. Staff is friendly, alert and courteous and they really make you feel welcome. Delicious food experience at Allegro!

I love Fruits in Ice Cream. Seriously. Compared to Gellatissimo which is sweeter, FIC can really attract the health conscious.

Sure, Gellatissimo mentions 98% fat free. But even so, the sugar itself nullifies that fact. Their ice cream is just too sweet for my taste.

UCC Cafe March 2015

UCC Cafe is known for their coffee. So people say. I, however, opted to try their food since in my taste, there is no difference with brewed coffee.

Whether they be Starbucks, UCC, Figaro, Coffee Bean or whatever, the taste is still the same.

The prices of their food are comparable to the likes of TGIF and Italiannis so you better have your wallet or credit card prepared for the worst LOL.

But really. I do not mind the price as long as the food tastes great.

And boy, UCC Cafe's food is heaven!

We ordered:

Chicken Teriyaki Salad for PHP329.00 which may look like it won't make you full but once you gobble up half of it, you'd wish you did not order any other.

Indian Curry Spaghetti for PHP399.00 may look like the content ain't much but really, this one can make anybody's tummy full after consuming even just half of it. And yes, the curry is yummy too!

Seafood Risotto for PHP499.00 may look overpriced considering the content ain't that plentiful but as I said awhile ago, if it tastes good then it definitely is worth it. Love the taste by the way. The saltiness favored my preferences because my wife and I are not that into salty food anyway.

The only downside with our experience is seeing a large fly suddenly land on top of the Seafood Risotto and the staff just took it with her bare hands after we complained about it.

Also, we should have been given a new one rather than adding the part that we ate and the part that was contaminated by the fly.

Still, it cannot be denied that the food at UCC Cafe is very good!

Chix Savor has some good tasting food here. And one of the crew kept the whole crowd entertained with his charisma.

Imagine that. I don't get to experience that kind of customer service in just about any food joint I dine in.

Beef Brisket Mami for PHP95.00
Big Brother Belly for PHP135.00
Sizzling Burger Steak PHP138.00

The prices are fairly affordable. I definitely will go back here again when I will have the chance! Our first time was coincidental because we wanted to get a massage that time and wanted to eat dinner first.

Chix Savor is located just across Tree Shade Spa near IT Park so it was a no brainer trying this food joint since a friend of mine already told me that the food here is good.

No question about it. It was worth it!

Last December 2014, my wife and I finally got the chance to try out Cafe Saree. They have a branch at an Escario outlet but the one we went to is located in Rustan's Grocery Area in Ayala Center Cebu's new wing.

We already had a hunch it could be pricey but what the heck. We wanted to try out their food. After all, if it is delicious then the price should be worth it.

We ordered the following:

Beef Salpicao. For PHP285, this was not worth it. The order we had was very oily and salty as well.

Jambalaya A' La Mama was also not that good although I hvae to admit, the sauce was pretty good.

Cafe Saree is a fine dining place. Don't expect yourself to be full. The servings on both Beef Salpicao and Jambalaya were not in the norm.

The container was more or less almost the same size as the ones used in Dimsum restaurants a few years back (note that Dimsum containers for Steamed rice nowadays have shrunk).

Overall, it was not a satisfying experience for me. If the food was delicious, I would not have minded the pricey price tag that came along with it.

If there is one thing about Cafe Talk that is obvious, it is because this place is good only for young people.

For starters, it is packed with so many students. And why not, people can lounge all the want in small areas that looks like small divided rooms.

This place is actually good to hang out. However, old people tend to shy away from these kind of places.

Why? Each area is so small. One cannot sit properly except in an Indian position. And for someone at my age, I tend to get tired sitting like that.

Plus, the staff seemingly condones letting customers shout, squeal and run around on the second floor whilst the poor people at the first floor can get annoyed by the noisy thumps of bigfoot and godzilla feet stomping around.

The Food

Cafe Talk has a few selection of food so customers are only constrained to choices of spaghetti, rice with toppings of chicken with 2 different kinds of sauce and french fries.

Their drinks are pretty good too. At PHP150.00, I would say the price ain't that bad.

The spaghetti was the best order that we had considering the serving was plentiful. However, the rice with chicken order was somewhat small although the sauce cannot be denied that it was delicious! These two orders costs almost PHP200.00, probably around PHP180.00,

The place

As I said awhile ago, this place is really for young guns although what's to stop old people from chilling out here, right? Some of their areas even have Android USB attached to monitors so guests can play some games there, though I would not advise you to waste your time because their Internet connection is terrible you will just waste your time using it.

These kind of cafes have seen a boom in Cebu. And for good reason. The place is the perfect hangout for people to get together, chill, hang out and have fun.

Some people like me, well ... my legs need to be relaxed and their narrow hangout areas just are not meant for me at my age he he he.

Siam @ Ayala Center Cebu, The Terraces March 2014

A few months back, my wife and I craved for some Thai cuisine. Siam at The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu is one Thai restaurant you should not miss.

I had tried many other branches in other cities like in Cagayan de Oro and I have to say the food in their Terraces branch is the best.

For a simple dinner, we ordered Chicken in Red Curry, Bangkok Express and Spicy Beef Rice.

There is always something about Asian spice that drives my gastronomical appetite. Siam Restaurant at the Terraces is only one of a few restaurant that I consider my favorite.

Everything Yummy @ IT Park March 2014

We checked out Everything Yummy in eBloc 2 Building in IT Park a few months back and I ordered their Burger Steak.

So what can I say? Nothing special nor out of the ordinary but some positive here is that their sauce is pretty delicious!

They also have other branches at Piazza Elesia and Talamban, in Cebu Philippines. Their branch in IT Park may not look like one stylish restaurant but the food served was pretty good.

KKa Chi Korean Restaurant October @ 2014

Frankly, even I was surprised when we ordered Kka Chi Restaurant's Eolkuen Ramen. It can be goodf or 2 pax.

And for only PHP200.00, it comes with 3 side dishes, one of them which is kimchi.

Now this, is a sweet deal.

Kka Chi Restaurant is owned by a Korean and is located near IT Park, where in front of the old prison which is now a leased building owned by the government, you can find Tree Shade Spa and another Korean restaurant which I forgot the name that used to be La Tegola.

Beside it perpendicularly (if there is such a word) is where Kka Chi Restaurant sits. I forgot to take a photo of their joint's signage but you cannot miss it, with the bright lights and color-notificing theme.

Pandanon Island @ Cebu March 2014

Pandanon Island is sandwiched between Cebu and Bohol and is one of many islands that can be visited amongst Cebu's various island hopping services.

The best place to go there is always during the early part of the morning. Why? Take the photos for example. I was lucky there were not that many people strolling on the shores because of the hot weather.

Most were inside the huts so I was very lucky and fortunate to take some photos of the shoreline without any crowd.

While its beach may not boast that many fish when you go snorkeling, it does have its fair share of sea creatures that are fun to watch.

Heck, I will never forget this experience because after this and the next stop we went to which was the fish sanctuary, my neck hurt like hell from moving left and right looking at the wondrous sea creatures lurking beneath.

Murray's New Orleans Bourbon Street Ribs @ Ayala Cebu New Wing September 2014

The New Orleans restaurant area located on the rooftop of Ayala Center Cebu's new wing is packed with good looking and sexy staffs.

Really.

The place is still new and I can tell judging by how they move around that they are still new at it and not used to being looked at many times in and out of the restaurant area.

New Orleans offers quite a good lineup of different cuisine. Their prices are comparable to that of TGIF and Italiannis.

The following were what we ordered:

New Orleans Pasta Etoufee PHP310 - this may depend on one's preference. My wife was not satisfied with it but I was. I loved the spicy flavor.

New Orleans Black Tuna PHP295 - I think this is quite expensive considering it does not even come with rice. What you see is what you get. Although I have to say I loved how the tuna was flavored and prepared. Plus those huge onions are always a heavenly sight to me ;).

New Orleans Chicken Jambalaya - I forgot the price for this one though but I think it costs around PHP350. This was a pretty good order. While the rice content is not as much as Irie Gastropubliko's version, they have more mixes than the rice. A must try!

Chopchop Ranch Salad - I do not know why they call this Chopchop but the salad was pretty good. This order can be in half or full. The amount of meat, fruit and others that were mixed with the vegetable was okay. Plus the there was something in the sauce that made me want to eat more. I just could not figure out what. And yes, I forgot to ask the staff about it. LOL!

Rockefeller Baked Oyster - yummy! What more can I say?!

Service was okay. I think I will give them a chance since the establishment is still new. The staff who entertained us did not inform us that the Black Tune order does not come with rice so it was a bad move considering we were already hungry and we were never informed about it.

Luckily, it is only rice so it did not take long for them to give us one.

Overall, it was a hearty meal we had during our first time there. And it probably won't be the last ;).

Grand Majestic Food @ Grand Convention Seminar Hall August 2014

This ain't buffet but for any kind of seminars held at the new Grand Convention Center, the menu is taken from the Grand Majestic's menu.

One of the seminars I attended had a very tasty lineup treat for dinner. They had chocolate truffle cake, pork belly, fish fillet, pasta, broccoli and vegetable and grilled chicken.

I asked one of the staff where they ordered the chocolate truffle cake because it was delicious. I was surprised when I was told all the food was prepared by Grand Majestic.

Then I thought, no surprise there. Their buffet of main course, appetizers and desserts is heavenly!

The old Grand Majestic used to serve mainly Chinese cuisine but the new Grand Majestic serves totally different cuisine every day.

HIFI KTV May 2014

Considering that HIFI KTV is still new, it definitely is a good time to check the place and experience easy to use KTV systems, a clean environment, delicious food and spacious rooms.

HIFI KTV is located in City Times Square at the back of Parkmall.

At first glance, people may mistake the place as very expensive but no. The prices are pretty good from their KTV use to their food.

One can hang out in the lobby that serves as a bar. If you want privacy, you head on straight upstairs and choose from the many rooms available.

What caught my attention was this image below. A touch screen menu to choose your songs. Now that beats having to pass over the folder containing all the songs available. There were many songs that were currently new last I checked so it is quite different from other KTV joints that showcase majority of old songs.

Now, who wouldn't want to look for a song using a physical folder list compared to using a touch screen like the one above?

As for the food ... Well, it was a heck of a feast. I am not sure if they offer this package until now but when we went there, they had a package price of around PHP1,300 I think where it was consumable. Pretty fair package if you ask me.

Fried Rice, Nachos, Liempo, Chicken, Fruit Dessert, Sisig, Nuts and Sotanghon. All worth it!

The people behind these apps are parents themselves so they definitely have an idea what kids enjoy and they have put these factors into fun-filled, game-challenging puzzles suitable for kids of any age.

Some kids apps cater to a specific age range for kids but nevertheless, they have a whole other set of kids apps that are worth checking out.

I don't put my full expectation that kids apps are like apps for teens and adults. The important factors that I look for in a kids app is that it is interactive, has stunning visuals, entertaining audio and sound effects and simply some puzzles whether challenging or not.

Young kids just enjoy tapping anything they see on the screen so definitely the graphics for this app are very eye catching that it definitely caught my kids' attention all the time.

Kids Academy has a variety of apps that cater to kids for a specific set of age range and then some that is for everybody. These games are best played in tablets. I cannot recommend the phone because any kid might get bad eyesight from looking at small screens.

Younger kids may not care since they tend to just tap anywhere on the screen and see what happens next. For older kids in the preschool and kindergarten level wanting to learn puzzles, tablets are the preferred medium.

Regardless, this is a very good app worth to check out.
