DuPont opened a new scale-up soluble OLED material production facility

DuPont announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art, scale-up manufacturing facility designed to deliver production scale quantities of advanced solution-based printed OLED materials. DuPont specifically says that these materials will target OLED TV applications.

The new OLED facility has large-scale formulation systems and can support simultaneous production of multiple product lines. DuPont invested over $20 million in this new facility, which was also funded by a grant from the state of Delaware back in 2012.

New OLED gadget: LG Watch Urbane 2

The 2nd Edition of LG's Watch Urbane is the first Android Wear smartwatch that has built-in cellular (LTE) connection. The Watch Urbane 2 uses a circular 1.38" 480x480 (348 PPI) flexible (plastic) AMOLED display (the original Watch Urbane used a 1.3" 320x320). Other features include a GPS and a 570mAh battery that should last through one day.

LG did not yet reveal any launch plans or pricing information.

The Nexus 6P is Google's 2015 flagship phone, that runs the latest Android 6 (Marshmallow) OS. The 6P uses a 5.7" 2560x1440 (518 PPI) AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 810 v2.1 CPU, 3GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB of storage, a 12.3mp camera, a new fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C connectivity. The 6P is made from "aeronautical-grade aluminum".

The Nexus 6P is now available for pre-order on Google's stores in the US, UK, Ireland and Japan for $499 (32GB model, without a contract of course) and will ship in October 2015.
