Welcome to this week’s edition of Unwrapped! As always, we will be grading all of the new photoshoots (or “eye candy”, as we like to call them) from the week gone by, judging them like so:

Sweet (Great) • Bland (Iffy) • Sour (Awful)

You, the reader, will also get the chance to grade the “eye candy” yourself by giving your opinion on each shoot and voting for your favorite out of the whole bunch. Now, dive in!

Gail Kim’s Midnight Blue
Grade: Sweet. With Gail’s ring attire, once you’ve seen one, you think you’ve seen it all. Not the case with this rather capturing blue and black sequined outfit. This ring attire may just be my favourite of Gail’s. As for the shots, Gail isn’t doing anything too special but she looks so flawless: not a single hair out of place and a beautiful smile. There are a couple of stunning close up shots too that have a poignant feel about them. Gail’s best photoshoot yet.

Katie Lea’s Visual Aid
Grade: Sour. Katie Lea’s photoshoots are always unique — she’s always using her arms, she’s always wearing excessive makeup and she’s always looking goth-like. This photoshoot however, has a new element to it… Katie seems to have goggles strapped to her forehead. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Is she going for a futuristic goth look? Who knows. Frankly, I’d be worried to know why. There’s just far too much going on: her hair, her makeup, her metallic coloured ring attire and her funky poses. It’s just super distracting and gives me a migraine.

Natalya’s Ladder to Success
Grade: Sour. Office wear, dangly earrings, high heels and a ladder. Either Natalya is starring in an infomercial about office safety or she’s starring in an ad campaign about the metaphorical climbing of the ladder to success? I’d like to think the latter. Even then, the ladder is yet another oddly placed prop just like Katie’s goggles and I just don’t know what’s going on here. On the bright side, she’s out of her Hart Dynasty ring attire but this isn’t a huge step up.

Rosa Mendes‘ Come Hither
Grade: Sweet. She of sexy couch poses is back! In a sequel to last year’s gorgeous photoshoot where a leather-clad Rosa rollicked with a leather-clad couch, Rosa has once again found a couch to work her magic on. This may be one sequel that doesn’t stink! Rosa, this time is wearing a gorgeous deep purple dress. I love this colour and it looks like a million bucks on Rosa. The newly reacquired Raw Diva looks extremely flirtatious with her ‘come hither’ facial expressions; that half smile, those wandering eyes — it’s like she’s looking right at you. Yes, you! She looks like she’s trying to grab your attention but isn’t being overtly sexy, which just happens to be incredibly sexy. Are you following? And then we get the non-chalant, “I’m just playing with my hair” poses that pretty much seals the deal for boners/girl crushes.

Tiffany‘ Director’s Cut
Grade: Sweet. Last time we saw a photoshoot from Tiffany, she was trying out to be a cheerleader. This time, she’s trying her hand at directing? Keeping with today’s theme of random props in one’s photoshoot, Tiffany is playing around with a chair that’s not dissimilar to what you’d see on a movie set. The outfit is blah which tells me that this photoshoot was done while she was still ECW GM but it’s the poses that really have me liking this shoot. This photoshoot shouldn’t work but Tiffany comes across fun, playful and care-free as she lounges on the chair with a smiley face with legs kicked up in the air. Her eyes and her smile sell this one.

Impact moved to Monday nights, going head to head with Raw and both shows saw the same amount of girls competing. TakeDown saw the debut of the Straight Edge Diva, Serena. And SmackDown saw the in-ring debut of Tiffany. What was the best match or moment from this week? Vote below.

Kanellis will be competing against the likes of Sharon Osbourne, Cyndi Lauper, Bret Michaels and more. Her chosen charity is the Make a Wish Foundation.

Former WWE Diva, Stacy Keibler looked a picture of perfection at the premiere of boyfriend Geoff Stults’ new movie, “She’s Out of My League” this past week.

Stacy hit the red carpet in a rather simple red dress but looked gorgeous nonetheless. It’s customary to see plunging necklines and strapless dresses on the red carpet so I appreciate Stacy’s classic look. She looks great!

 

Divas beware, we judge what you wear! Welcome to the Diva Dirt Style Jury. We compile the looks from the week gone by and mark each look on a scale of 1-10. At the end of the scoring, we work out the combined score for each look and the Diva with the highest combined score is our winner and the Diva with the lowest combined score is our loser.

A few rules: We only judge outfits/ring attire that we haven’t judged before or we have already seen several times on TV before. If a Diva is seen in more than one outfit in any given week, we mark them as ‘#1′, ‘#2′ and so forth.

So, let the proverbial runway show begin!

THE BELLA TWINS
Cryssi: I don’t even know what this outfit is. I guess it’s some magician’s assistant type of thing. Either way, it’s ugly. Good thing the Bellas have their fit bodies and good looks, because that’s the only thing that helps this thing. 2/10
Erin: Those dresses kind of look like re-purposed garbage bags. Not cute, to say the least. Not liking the pink on them, either. Maybe they should have stolen Scarlett Johansson’s wardrobe from “The Prestige” if they wanted to rock the sexy magician’s assistant look. 3/10
Melanie: I guess it was obvious they’d be dressed as magician’s assistants but lulz, they could have done a better job. This looks like the Pleasure Chest version of a magician’s outfit if you catch my drift. 2/10
Steven: Looks like someone took a pair of scissors to Trish Stratus’ old black and pink gear. Definitely not the most practical outfit, but I think it serves it’s purpose here with the magic theme and all. 6/10

EVE TORRES
Cryssi: This is gorgeous and I absolutely love it. With Eve’s complexion, the shimmering green material absolutely pops. She looked beautiful on Raw this week. 9/10
Erin: I like the turquoise color, but not her tights’ design scheme. I just don’t like the design of them in general. As pretty as the color is, I’m just not feeling it as a whole. It doesn’t really look like “wrestling attire”, if you get what I mean. It sort of looks like a tank top and shorts modified to work in the ring, and I guess that’s probably the point. It looks awkward to wrestle in. 5/10
Melanie: I love the green and the detailing that’s gone into the top and shorts to make it a seemless outfit but at the same time, it has a Ninja Turtle feel to it lol. It’s certainly eye catching and for that reason, thumbs up. 7/10
Steven: Honestly, I wasn’t a fan of this gear when I saw it this Monday, but it’s been growing on me ever since. Green is still not my favorite color, but Eve is working it out here. 7/10

KATIE LEA
Cryssi: Katie has definitely had better outfits. The top of this one is very funky, but I like the pants a lot. She looks great in purple so she gets an extra point from me for that. I wish she’d ditch the white extension things in her hair though. 6/10
Erin: The layering on the top looks a little peculiar, and I’m not sure suede boots are the best ones to wrestle in. Still, it fits her gothic persona without looking too out of place or goofy. It’s not all that bad, but not all that great either. 6/10
Melanie: Pretty much all that we’ve come to expect from Katie. I like the purple. 5/10
Steven: l’ve always been a fan of Katie Lea’s eccentric sense of style. That said, her gear this week was a bit bland. Love the color on her however. 5/10

MARYSE
Cryssi: When it comes to fashion, Maryse doesn’t do a whole lot that’s wrong. Black seems to be one of her trademark colors and she always looks flawless. There’s nothing special about this attire, but with Maryse it doesn’t have to be special. She could make a potato sack look amazing. 8.5/10
Erin: This is about as plain as her ring attire gets. I like the simple black look, even if it kinda looks like she got attacked with a bedazzler. This is probably my favorite of her tight variations–it looks sexy, but not over the top, and I think that fits her persona the best. 8/10
Melanie: Ever since she started using material around her cleavage upon her return last November, her tops have looked pretty classy. It’s cute. 7/10
Steven: Nothing new with Maryse this week. She looks great as always, but I prefer most colorful outfits. Maybe if she’d added some colorful or metallic accents, this outfit could been more memorable. 6/10

SAVANNAH
Cryssi: I like this little dress. The color really greats on Savannah and shiney things always have appeal to me. It fits her beautifully and highlights what it needs to highlight without making her look slutty or trashy. It’s classical great. 8/10
Erin: Simple as can be, but brought to another level with a pretty bronze color. I love it. It’s tight and low cut, so it meets the “sexy” requirement, but still leaves enough to the imagination. It kind of reminds me of Lillian’s old sparkly ensembles, which isn’t a bad example to follow. 9/10
Melanie: Love it! Savannah looks glowing quite literally. The dress has some oomph to it and she needs little accessorizing. Great job. 8/10
Steven: I actually love this outfit! The color is great, the dress is sexy without being hoochie. I honestly don’t have anything bad to say. 10/10

TIFFANY #1
Cryssi: Tiffany is very pretty in purple and this simple little garment works for her. The look is plain but she jazzes it up with some blinging earring which keeps the whole look for being boring. Not groundbreaking, but Tiffany isn’t a flashy person. I like it. 6.75/10
Erin: Simple, and pretty ordinary. I like that the neckline doesn’t show us all she’s packing. The purple is alright, but not something I’d put all over a solid color dress. Maybe if it were in a deeper shade of purple, I’d like it better. 6/10
Melanie: I like the shade of purple and I think it fits nicely but it just lacks the spark that Savannah’s dress has. Also, the dangling earrings don’t look great. 6/10
Steven: Very simple look for Tiffany, borderline boring even. Maybe some more accessories, a necklace maybe, could’ve livened this up a bit. 5/10

TIFFANY #2
Cryssi: Tiffany isn’t the first diva to wrestle in a small skirt and she won’t be the last. I don’t have a problem with her wearing a skirt to wrestle in. I dislike the boots because I’ve never been a fan of white footwear and I hate the top. This outfit doesn’t work for me, but at least she’s wearing something to make herself stand out. 3/10
Erin: This looks like a rejected Dallas Cowboys cheerleader costume; the matching skirt and boots are probably to blame for that. At first glance it looked ultra trashy, but the more I look at it the cuter it gets. I mean, it fits for an unexperienced wrestler to wear it to the ring. She’s not supposed to be taken seriously in the ring yet, and this fits her persona at this stage. I was never a fan of girls wrestling in skirts, and I’m still not. But like I said, she’s not supposed to be taken seriously just yet. 6/10
Melanie: One of my biggest pet peeves is wrestling in skirts so imagine my horror when I saw Tiffany. I had really hoped that phase in wrestling was over. Tiffany’s skirt can hardly be called a skirt, it was barely there — at least Christy Hemme has the decency of using some more material. If Tiffany wants to be taken seriously, she needs to switch to some decent ring attire. 2/10
Steven: This outfit is screaming ‘Football Team Cheerleader’ to me, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I think the look goes well with her bubbly personality. It could use a few personal touches to make it more original, but not a bad look all in all. 7/10

What’s is in a name? Does it define who and what we are? What we mean to people? Or what we mean to ourselves? In some cases I think so… Krissy Vaine was a character that I conjured up in my imagination about eight years ago. She’s been to a lot of places and done a lot of things. She has been a WWE Diva (for a hot second) and spent many hours on the road working the independent circuit. She has made friends and enemies. She has seen the good, the bad and the ugly (and has been ugly herself) of the wrestling world and still managed to come out alive, yet different if that makes sense? All of these experiences must have an effect and change a person, right? I hope so. Otherwise what has all this been for? Krissy Vaine, eight years ago and Mrs. Vaine of the present are two completely different people. I’m now older, wiser and much, much more patient. All of the ups and downs and the crazy rollercoaster was for the better good of my growth — at least that’s how I’ve come to look at it. Slowly but surely, I’ve begun to resonate less and less with ‘Krissy VAINNNNE’. After 29 years, I believe that I’m actually comfortable with looking in the mirror and saying, “Hello Kristin, how the heck are ya? Glad to have ya back.”

Krissy Vaine was a mask. A facade to cover up the fact that on the inside, Kristin was a real hot mess. Krissy Vaine had confidence, while Kristin did not. Krissy Vaine had many people who loved her, while Kristin did not, Vaine knew who she was and Kristin did not have a clue… I knew who and what I wanted to be, but I was far from attaining it. The thing about masks and facades is that they only last for so long. You can only attempt to be something you are not for a certain period of time before it’s so hard on your soul that you snap. I fortunately got to snap in front of the whole world… Yay me! Haha. Something else that began to happen was that I really started to believe I was the ‘fake replica’ that I had conjured up of myself and I became that monster. I was lost and needed to find myself again. And with a quickness.

If not, the gremlins were gonna have me for breakfast! This was the hardest thing to break free from, for me. To separate from the persona. But I have been/am determined to keep doing it. I don’t want to be Krissy Vaine anymore. Vaine, ala the name, only cared about herself. Was only affected by what what she looked like, what happened to her and certainly didn’t care about others. I do however care about others and I’d like to impact the world if only in the smallest of ways.

I would compare the last few years of my life to that of a butterfly. I have been in my cocoon, learning, studying and dropping all that which no longer serves my purpose. It’s important to get rid of any excess baggage whether it be family, friends etc. that can impair your growth. Though not easy, in the long run, it’s worth it. Energy vampires, as I like to call them, prey on those they can take, take, take from. Possibly even wolves in sheeps’ clothing — so be careful! I can’t tell you how nice my days are now, to not be bothered with useless nonsense. The last few years have been cleansing, rejuvenating and idle at times. Boring even, but I knew that one day I would be ready to leave the nest. I’m ready to drop the last bit of the old me and emerge better and stronger than ever before. I’m standing on the mountain I’ve built for myself. Ready to spread my wings and fly.

Letting go of Krissy Vaine won’t be easy, but I believe it’s the last step in this chapter of the journey. Vaine has alot of baggage, cords and unneeded scrap metal in her arsenal. KRISTIN ASTARA is a fresh start… a new beginning. One filled with light, a path of illumination and knowingness — not darkness. Astara reaches for the stars with integrity and vigor and believes she deserves what falls at her feet, but what doesn’t, must not have meant to be. I hope that the death of Krissy Vaine and the birth of Kristin Astara is as exciting to all of you as it is to me.

I start training this Saturday, three times a week! Can’t wait to get in the ring more!

The company will send stars to the facility as it’s official training ground and Von Erich, who debuted in September, looks to be the school’s first student from TNA.

Despite debuting in September, Lacey hasn’t been seen in the ring that much due to her greenness. She is still expected to be part of TNA tapings.

Von Erich will also make her debut on Wrestlicious TakeDown next week teaming with her fellow Beautiful People team mate, Madison Rayne [as Amber Lively] in the main event. Of course, this was taped before Lacey joined TNA and The Beautiful People and just happens to be a coincidence.

Kanellis will make her debut on April 17th’s Underground 54 event which will air live on HDNet. A press release on Maria’s appointment is due Monday.

Is WWE’s loss MMA’s gain?

The 15 minute weekly show will not feature any matches, rather give fans behind the scenes access to the WSU stars. The show is set to debut in April on the Fight Network and online via InASecTV.com.

WSU issued the following on their website:

“UNCENSORED” will not be your standard wrestling show. “UNCENSORED” will give you behind-the-scenes access at WSU events and will open the doors to the people & stars of WSU. Each episode will be 10-15 minutes, and not only will the episodes air on the FIGHT network in Canada, but they will also be available online at InASecTV.com

WSU does not want to mislead our fans. This will not be a regular TV show with matches. This show is being designed to complement the WSU DVD series. This show will be used to feature WSU stars in ways you’ve never seen them before. The show will also be short, as we do not want to burn out our fans and we want every minute to be explosive.

WSU is aware other indy companies promise big things with their TV deals. WSU wants to let everyone know that this is just one step in the right direction. We are not promising to change the world, but we plan on offering free entertainment to you, 10-15 minutes a week through “UNCENSORED”. This deal is a deal that hopefully will give WSU more notice and notoriety. We are not trying to compete with anyone nor are we pretending that we are reinventing the wheel. “UNCENSORED” will simply be a show that will give everyone the inside scoops and latest news in WSU.

WSU is a company that supports itself through footage (DVD/VOD) sales. Instead of full matches airing on “UNCENSORED”, fans will be able to get to know the wrestlers, see what it is like to be a wrestler and understand the importance of many matches in WSU. New concepts will be implemented during the course of “UNCENSORED”.

WSU will continue to offer the very best and quality women wrestling shows through our live events & DVDs. “UNCENSORED” will be the show to understand & appreciate the hardest working women in professional wrestling today. Each episode of “UNCENSORED” will be used to promote future WSU events, future WSU Title Matches & give you all the latest on-goings in WSU.

April 14th marks the 5 year anniversary of Melina’s WWE debut, and we here at Diva Dirt want to commemorate that with an audio special akin to what we recently did for Maria, but this time we’ll be looking at Melina’s career through your eyes.
