Hola a todxs and welcome to the CMLL Weekly Review! Last Night CMLL had their 93th Anniversary Show, with two women’s matches featuring CMLL, AEW and STARDOM talent.

But first to celebrate the Mexican Independence day. CMLL had a Mexican night with the Mexican National Women’s Champion, Thunder Rosa successfully retaining her title against Dark Silueta.

On the anniversary show, Friday night, Sanely, Candela and Kira made their anniversary debuts taking on Mei Seira, Maika and Ema Maishima in a six women tag team match.

STARDOM continued with their winning ways defeating the CMLL amazon’s after a checkmate from Mei Seira.

Before the title match, Tessa Blanchard and Persephone (& Starlight Kid) came face to face during CMLL Informa. Things reached their climax after Tessa accused Perse of avoiding México (and her) by spending her time elsewhere.

While Mina Shirakawa promised to steal the mexican fan’s hearts, the show and the CMLL championship, sending her “beshitos” to everyone watching.

After winning the Viva México Cup, Starlight Kid proudly represented Japan while Tessa came into the match alongside her father Tully Blanchard.

Unafraid to reference or not reference, Persephone made a small tribute to the late and great Eddie Guerrero retaining her title by stealing the win choosing brains over brawns.

The third, and likely final, Money in the Bank qualifier from Raw has been confirmed. This Monday, Sept. 21 will have Roxanne Perez vs. IYO SKY vs. the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina battle it out for a spot. The winner will join the field of already confirmed participants, Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, and Jacy Jayne.

This year’s MITB is shaping up so far to have brand nee participants for the first time. This opens the field to a possible fresh win for the briefcase. The next qualifier from SmackDown has been confirmed as Giulia vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Lash Legend. There will be a total of six women in the ladder match.

Friday Night SmackDown aired this week from inside the Hilliard Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Over on Raw, both Sol Ruca and Lola Vice have already qualified for this year’s women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Tonight, the blue brand will have to find one of their own in a triple threat match. Between Alexa Bliss, Jacy Jayne, and Jade Cargill, who will come out on top? Let’s get started and find out.

Candice LeRae came out with Johnny Gargano to interrupt Sami Zayn and Nick Aldis in the ring and said her husband was next in line to challenge Sami for the WWE Championship, but Kevin Owens made his way out and hit Gargano with a stunner. She was later seen backstage telling Johnny that he should have expected to have been attacked.

In the locker room, Tatum Paxley was lighting some candles on a table as Alexa Bliss was stretching. Charlotte Flair booty-bumped her and blew out one of Tatum’s candles when she tried to explain what the candle represented. Bliss knows that Flair and Paxley have her back, but she’s just trying to focus on what she needs to do to qualify for Money in the Bank. Flair and Paxley will have their opportunities, but right now she needs to focus on what she needs to do on her own. Paxley sees this as an opportunity for her and Flair to bond together; having beaten Fatal Influence last week, those Women’s Tag Team Championships, held by Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley, are just as good as theirs.

Paxley then explained two other candles to Flair: one is for serenity, but The Queen unknowingly blows out one that Paxley explains represented bad luck. Flair frantically tried to light the “bad luck” candle after she was told of its purpose.

The WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton were in the back with SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis, who says that even though they’ve gone through a lot, Chelsea has proved without a shadow of a doubt that she deserves to be champion. While the champ appreciates his kind words, she says she couldn’t have done it without Stratton, when Danhausen stops by and mentions that some guy named “Mickie” has been calling and is very angry.

After Nick walks back into his office, Tiffany tells Chelsea that she spoke to him and she will be in a Money in the Bank qualifying match. They then run into Nikki Bella, who says she saw her on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live (alongside 2004 Diva Search runner-up and current Real Housewife, Carmella DeCesare, which you can read here) but warns her to keep her name out of her mouth. Nikki knows that last week, she was pretty busy barely aching by Nia Jax, but she knows Green took a moment to watch her quick victory over Paige, and she’s coming after the WWE Women’s Championship, and unlike Tiffany, she doesn’t need qualifying matches to get those opportunities, because she is a legend and an icon.

Cathy Kelley is in Gorilla position interviewing The Baddies as Jade Cargill is all set to compete in the triple threat qualifier. B-Fab took exception to Charlotte and Tatum being next in line for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Michin adds and says that they could mop the floor with all three of Fatal Influence. Jade says that if anyone’s next in line for the titles, it’s her girls, because she’s coming back for the WWE Women’s Championship. She’s not letting Alexa or “Lacy” take what’s hers. Money in the Bank is hers and she’s coming for it.

The triple threat was underway afterwards. Jayne climbed up to the commentary desk to bask in the boos from the crowd before Bliss pulled her off. While all three tried gaining the upper hand throughout the first half of the match, Bliss eventually had the most momentum, taking advantage of Cargill being thrown into the post and onto the outside to unleash a flurry of offense on Jayne. The Storm would get back up and take out Bliss, but was thrown into the steel steps by Jayne, who got back in the ring and hit a running knee, but failed to put Bliss away.

Alexa got up on the turnbuckles to try Twisted Bliss, but Jayne rolled out of the ring, prompting the Columbus, Ohio native to hit a crossbody onto both Jayne and Cargill on the floor. Inside the ring, the fans cheered as Alexa hit Sister Abigail for what would surely get her the win, but as referee Daphanie LaShaunn counted, she was pulled at the leg by Jade Cargill, not at all looking to lose the match or lose out on an important opportunity. Bliss and Cargill fought, with Cargill reversing another Sister Abigail attempt into Jaded. Jayne would kick Cargill out of the ring and take advantage of a worn-out Bliss to pin her and win the match. Fallon and Lainey made their way out to celebrate with her as Jade looked on with a befuddled expression on her face.

After next week’s women’s Money in the Bank match was announced, Cathy has now teleported to the locker room to interview Giulia, who said she was standing in the ring with Charlotte and Lash, just like how Charlotte and Lash are standing in her way. The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) soon interrupted and mentioned how she broke Blake Monroe’s teeth two weeks ago, but The Beautiful Madness wasn’t going to stand back, stating that she doesn’t like Nia and Lash, and she beats people she doesn’t like. Lash warns that she is going to clean house next week, win the Money in the Bank briefcase, and bring home the WWE Women’s Championship. Giulia makes one final warning to Lash: let’s see how she looks after Giulia kicks her teeth out before mockingly doing Nia and Lash’s signature finger snap. Cathy looked like she was about to giggle at that before Nia and Lash snapped their fingers at her, ending the segment.

Money in the Bank takes place on Saturday, October 10th, from inside the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Six women will be competing in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, which will grant the winner a contract for a match against the Women’s World Champion or the WWE Women’s Champion. Here is the current status of the match and its confirmed participants:

• Sol Ruca vs. Lola Vice vs. Jacy Jayne vs. three participants to be determined

Friday Night SmackDown airs next week from inside the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, featuring the next women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match:

• Giulia vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Lash Legend

Former Diva Search contestant Carmella DeCesare, now Garcia, and WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green joined the Bravo network’s late night show Watch What Happens Live. The show is hosted by Bravo and The Real Housewives producer, Andy Cohen.

DeCesare may be newer to the Bravo audience as she has joined the new 20th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, but to a Diva like Chelsea Green, she knows exactly who she is.

An audience member asked the champ who would she pick as someone who would be good in a WWE ring from a Bravo show. Green said other than DeCesare who has already been one, she chose LaLa from Vanderpump Rules and The Valley. This left Cohen, who clearly doesn’t do his research, beffudled that DeCesare was a former diva…with DeCesare playing by saying “I don’t know what she’s talking about.” Green told him a quick Wikipedia search would help.

DeCesare was part of the 2004 Diva Search and placed runner up to Christy Hemme.

The TNA Knockouts Television Championship will have its first defense tonight as the champion, M By Elegance, defends against one-half of the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, Kiera Hogan. Hogan had pinned M once before to claim the tag titles, and she looks to pin M again to become the new champ.

M shows off a little bit, but Hogan catches her in the act and on the middle rope. She follows up with a step-up legdrop, but M kicks out.

Hogan tries to drive M into the ringpost, but puts a stop to it and takes over Hogan. M whiffs on the backfist, and this allows Hogan to come back with a flurry of strikes. Hogan catches M in the corner, but it’s not enough to put M away.  

M reverses into a Codebreaker and tries to follow up with a moonsault, but misses. Hogan hits the dropkick, but M fights through and catches Hogan in the corner to flatline her. She hits her signature piledriver and remains the TV champ.

Zoey Serrano is set to make her singles debut on TNA Impact tonight, and her opponent is none other than Harley Hudson. She is led by security due to the potential danger to the crowd and even the TNA staff. 

Before we start this match, TNA gives a special shoutout to former TNA Knockout, Tanea Brooks, also known to the professional wrestling world as Rebel. She currently fights against ALS. Visit iamals.org/rebel to donate and learn more. 

The match gets underway, and Serrano mocks Hudson with a series of pushups. But Hudson quickly shows Serrano not to mess with her. Hudson eats a flurry of hard chops courtesy of Serrano, but Hudson shows that she can serve it too.

Hudson fights out of the chokehold and drives through Serrano in the corner. Serrano dodges out to the apron and has a chance to launch a German suplex and drive Hudson’s neck into her knee.

Serrano looks to put away Hudson, but Hudson counters to almost pin her. Hudson launches a hard leg drop onto the apron, but still can’t put away Serrano. Serrano is done playing games and drives her knee into Hudson. She hits the Hell and Back and picks up the win.

Daria Rae comes out and is very proud of her signing. She tells Serrano to finish Hudson off, but Indi Hartwell comes out to save her. Hartwell is done dealing with Rae, but “The Suit” threatens Hartwell as she’s on “borrowed time.” 

Mila Moore also makes an appearance tonight as John Skyler tries to check up on her. After her brawl with Tasha Steelz last week, she says she’s okay, as Skyler tries to shoot his shot.

Nikki Bella and Paige had a true Diva off last week on SmackDown. A match between two former Divas Champions ended in a Diva match time of 3 minutes and 22 seconds. The last time these two had a singles match against each other has been over a decade.

On a recent episode of the Nikki & Brie Show podcast, Nikki says she came to SmackDown expecting a PLE type match. That’s not what happened.

“Our numbers ended up being the most talked about from SmackDown. Even though we thought we were going to have this like PLE match and I came in prepped for that, I love storytelling, so let’s continue this. I’m all about the story so take it away, you put in that, and it’s great heat and get people talking. ‘When is this going to happen? What’s next?’

“My friends were texting like, ‘Why was that only two minutes?’ It’s her fault. Go tell Paige. It’s her fault. She came in like an angry woman.”

Former WWE Women’s Speed Champion, Wren Sinclair has been showing a different side of herself lately. An angry, more aggressive side. Ever since her friend Kendal Grey lost the NXT Women’s Title and she herself lost the Women’s Speed Title making it now defunct, she hasn’t been handling it all so well.

She found herself suspended from NXT by Robert Stone on Sept. 8 following an attack on Kelani Jordan. This led to Sinclair striking a referee.

While speaking freely on Busted Open, Sinclair shared the following:

“I feel like it just gets to a certain point. I feel like I’m someone that always wanted to be here in the WWE and as someone who is that kind of person, you learn that closed mouth, ears open. That’s what I did and I feel like I’ve done that for the past three years. Where has that gotten me? In this last year alone, I have watched so many people come in and get things that I never got. There’s people walking in the door and getting t-shirts in the trailer a week later.

I’ve been here for almost three years and I don’t have anything to show for it. I was the Speed Champion, I was the last Speed Champion. Did I get a shirt for that? No. Did I get a championship celebration? No. So, it just gets to a point where it’s not only people stepping on you but it feels like the company is stepping on you. Why when I’ve been such a good little solider for them, what do I get from that? Why am I going to continue doing that, that’s literally insanity, just doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

I think it’s just something that bubbled up inside of me. Zilla Fatu literally came in during a main event match, ruined it, and what did he get? He got a championship match handed to him on a platter on a PLE. I do something, I beat the living tar out of Kelani and I accidentally hit a ref and what do I get? I get suspended. I don’t know, that was the most frustrating part because the one time that I show any bit of emotion or the one time I fall out of like, it’s a problem. But at the same time, I’m not gonna stop. Now that I’ve done this, I’ve had a taste for it.” (Fightful/Transcript)

The current NXT Women’s Champion, Kelani Jordan will likely be main roster bound after her current title reign.

In a mention by WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, following her match on Raw, plans have reportedly emerged for Kelani Jordan to move to the main roster following the conclusion of her NXT Women’s Championship run.

The feeling internally is that her main roster move is now a matter of when, not if, with the end of the year currently targeted for her permanent move.

Jordan captured the NXT Women’s Title recently at Heatwave from Kendal Grey. She is known to capture titles after just one shot such as the TNA Knockouts World Title and she was the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion. She is a homegrown talent and has been signed since 2022.

WWE has announced its most recent Performance Center class. In that, there are five women.

WWE.com lists Aalyah Mysterio (Gutierrez) as one of the new talents. Former WWE ID program talent Zoe Sager has also officially signed on to the new class. Aalyah had previously been mentioned by her father. WWE Hall of Famer, Rey Mysterio that she was training.

Cara Brown (Coeur d’Alene, ID) – Brown was an amateur wrestler at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee, where she also worked as a manager for the football team. 

Katie Reynolds (Kokomo, IN) – Reynolds has experience in the squared circle as a former TNA referee, who went under the ring name “Alice Lane.” 

Aalyah Gutierrez (San Diego, CA) – Gutierrez is no stranger to WWE as her father is WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, and she is brother to Dominik Mysterio. Gutierrez has appeared on WWE television many times, most recently at WrestleMania 39 where she sat ringside for the matchup between her father and brother.

Zoë Sager (Edmonton, Canada) – Formerly signed to the WWE ID program, Sager is now training at the WWE Performance Center. Sager played rugby and competed in amateur wrestling at her high school. Sager has contended for the WWE Women’s ID Championship and has had dark matches on NXT.

Ana da Silva (Ribeirao das Neves, Brazil) – da Silva brings championship pedigree from Brazil. She is a former track and field athlete, specializing in shot put at the University of Georgia, and has represented Brazil on the national stage. da Silva became a three-time national champion in Brazil and was a competitor at the 2016 World U20 Championships.
