Analog expert Michael Fremer, a writer for Stereophile magazine, allows viewers exclusive access to his listening room in this program. Demonstrating how to set up a Project RM-5 (known outside the U.S. as the RPM-5), a VPI Scoutmaster and a Rega P5, Fremer shares his talents to help his viewers enjoy an enhanced listening experience.

If you have ever wondered how to set up your turntable so your vinyl sounds like it is supposed to sound, this video is an enourmous help. Written, acted and produced by Michael Fremer, one of the very few Vinyl Gurus I have ever seen who can communicate and is listenable - and watchable. This video is both very informative and entertaining. Apart from the setting up of three turntables in three different price classes, all of which he does very well. Michael gives a short introduction to diferent LP qualities, from "Virgin" vinyl - British, to "Streetwalker" vinyl - American. And, during the various set-ups, he admonishes us, the watchers, to "don't go crazy" during set-up. At the end of the video, he introduces us to his personal turntable, the Continuum Audio Labs "Colibri". Said piece of equipment costing around USD 100,000.

Michael, when it came down to it, "went crazy"!

Very, very highly recommended.

Pro Audio - Alesis M1-ACTIVE-320USB Studio Monitors w USB - Pair DJPROAUDIO.com Just got these babies in. Very nice indeed. Rather small for some applications, but overall they are good studio or pc monitors. I would say the are best used in a small PC/MAC home based production set up. The thing that is really great about them is that you can use the outputs on these speakers to record whatever is playing through them. So, they act as an external sound card. Very impressive Alesis. Very impressive. Oh, did I mention the USB port? Straight connection to your PC/MAC without the use of any analog outs.

The price is just right too... $99 for the pair! Get em while we still have them!

Technics SL-1200MK4, SL1200MK4 Turntable Operation Manual

Thought you guys and girls out there might find this interesting. Straight from the service archives @ DJPA... It's the Operation Manual for the Technics SL-1200MK4 turntable (it's in Japanese). Of course, this turntable is not available here in the U.S., but if your in Japan, or one of the other lucky Asian countries, you can pick up this baby for a mere US$600 or so. I've seen a pair on ebay, and they sold for about $400, used. Which is actually a good price for something that is so hard to find. It's nothing fantastically special, but it does have the following unique features...

- 78 RPM
(we can mod your MK2, MK3, MK5s with this feature - but it's costly)
- RCA Female Connection Block
(we can mod your MK2, MK3, MK5 with this feature)
- Titanium Tonearm with OFC (oxygen free wire)
(we can do this too!)

Released in 1996, it's been doing ok in the Asian markets. But not so good that it warrants a worldwide release. I just wish they would include that RCA Female Connection block on all of their models! Would make life sooo much easier for us DJs on the road!

FACT: The famed Technics SL1200MK2 has sold over 3,000,000 units worldwide since it's release to the market in 1978! That's insane! No other turntable manufacturer even comes close!

This is bloody brilliant! Thankfully, the outcome was not what it was. However, a politician is a politician, and I don't care if your African or Jewish. When it comes to politics, there is no such thing as color, creed, or religion. It's about what are YOU GOING TO DO FOR ME. Unfortunately, the more power and money you have, the more you will do FOR ME.

So, President Elect Obama, this is truly a historic time and I am glad I was around to witness it all. For surely, I never imagine that a non-white old guy would run the country in my lifetime. But it has happened, and now NOT A SINGLE PERSON has an excuse. This man came from humble beginnings, from a single parent home... and now he is our president. No silver spoon here. For, if he can make it out of his world and into their world... ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. NO MORE EXCUSES AMERICA... Let us BE GREAT AGAIN.

But it all starts with YOU! Ask questions, investigate, do your own research. Don't let ANYONE tell you what to think, do, or say. ASK YOUR OWN QUESTIONS, and DEMAND ANSWERS. There are people who want us to remain complacement and 'dumb' - and unfortunately, it has gone on for far too long. It's time we WOKE UP and TOOK OUR COUNTRY BACK from these CROOKS.

There are three models in the new EON product range. The EON500 series loudspeakers feature a combination of JBL’s patented engineered components, enabling a smaller enclosure and lighter weight than competitive models. When combined with the products’ ease of handling, the EON500 series loudspeakers are ideal solutions for everyone from mobile DJs and musicians to systems integrators.

The unmatched reliability of the EON500 series loudspeakers is the result of JBL’s integrated design of the woofer, amplifier, wave guide and thermal management of all components. Additionally, all electroacoustic components have been specifically engineered for the EON system. Because the features and manufacturability of the system have also been developed in unison, the highly refined production process contributes to the reliability of the products.

The EON515 and EON510 are both 2-way powered speaker systems, offering mic and line level inputs, as well as selectable system EQ, giving users a “loudness” type control and the ability to roll off the low frequency for maximum performance with a subwoofer or when used as a floor monitor. Both models feature one XLR/ quarter-inch combo connector and additional quarter-inch inputs providing input flexibility and the ability to mix multiple sources. Each loudspeaker features one XLR output where the output signal is selectable, either the whole mix may be looped to another speaker (or sent to a mixing console), or simply the primary input for traditional “daisy-chaining.”

The EON515 is a 15-inch 2-way loudspeaker system offering a total of 450/900 watts (continuous/burst) power. All power in the EON515 is derived from latest Crown® Class–D technology; it’s highly efficient, compact and incredibly lightweight—less than 33 pounds (15 kilograms). The EON515 offers a 15-inch Differential Drive® woofer, a compact high-performance compression driver with a 1-inch exit and neodymium motor on a 100° x 60° wave guide.

The ultra-compact EON510 10-inch 2-way loudspeaker system offers a total of 280/560 watts (continuous/burst) power, weighing only 17 pounds (7.7 kilograms). The EON510 offers a 10-inch Differential Drive woofer, a compact high-performance compression driver with a 1-inch exit and neodymium motor on a 100- x 60-degree wave guide.

The EON518S subwoofer features a single 18-inch Differential Drive woofer in a vented enclosure, powered by a 500/1000 watts (continuous/burst) amplifier. It features a pole mount cup for sub/satellite applications, level control, dual inputs, a stereo crossover network, peak limiter and polarity reverse switch. It also has a speaker level input increasing connectivity, flexibility and system configuration options.

I met Mr. Robotnick at Regressive Technologies event, where he performed/DJ'd for the first time in NYC in a very LONG time. This was a few years ago, and the event was hosted by Elliot Taub (Ulysses of Scatalogics fame) and featured John Selway and a couple of other cats. It was a great event, and they played some music I hadn't heard in a long time. Stuff, that only I thought I had - my secret gems. Oh well, so much for that!

Doesn't matter, music should be shared - especially good music - which is rare to come by in these times. But Alexander dropped some serious vinyl on the 1200s, and it blew my mind. I must have been up there at least every other song asking him for the name and title. At the end of the night, he thanked me for my curiosity! FANTASTIC! I couldn't have asked for a better evening.

Thankfully Alexander Robotnick has made a very STRONG comeback, and I am in FULL support of it!
