I first started DJing for Hard On in their back room. That’s right, I provided music to fuck to. Now I play on their main floor putting the funk into fetish with a unique sound of uplifting yet dirty and sexy beats. I am still a soundtrack to a room full of fuckers, but you can also join me on the dance floor. Whorehouse & Other Beats is a collection of diiiiirty, funky, pumping and tech house vibes. I also noticed a nod to the old skool with some sexy acid house styled grooves (about in the middle of the mix) which takes me back to the days, but this with a more underground vibe. More like this please!

Some of you may be thinking is Whore House a new genre? My intention was to create a soundscape that was Burlesque in feel, with vocals, a tad of disco, some dirty acid rhythms and tunes to make you shake your money maker (see where I am gong with this). RUPERT STREET is one of Soho favourite bars and over the last few months it has been getting a lot of attention with a renovation, a funked up music policy and a fabulous list of cocktails. It has become the perfect place for a drink and a boogie wither as a complete (yet early) night out or the great start to a weekend of partying.

A recent photoshoot by Boyz Magazine featuring Rupert Street highlighted these changes and included four of it’s resident DJs Phill Marriott, Rich B, Brent Nicholls & Alessandro Londra who all appeared on the cover of the magazine. Trying to establish a new Wig Party tradition, that is to record the after party to giveaway as a FREE DOWNLOAD, we ran into technical difficulties at the venue Shadow Lounge. The recorder kept on giving us a feed back loop and we couldn't figure out why. Still wanting to create something special as a thank you for all the support shown by the Halloween ghoulsters we decided on an inspired post-party mix where each DJ on the night selected 5 of their favourite tunes played and it was then compiled into a single podcast, in the order the DJs played. This is the first time ever these 5 DJs (including myself) appear on a single mix. And I've got to say the choice of tunes, the variety and styles make this a stomping podcast!

From commercial house to dirty house, remixes, anthems and future house sit side by side. From the opening track that mashes Madonna with the Human League we venture on a deep house journey. Seductive rhythms, sultry vocals and gritty bass limes hallmark the deep house sound with stand out offerings from Submotion Orchestra with "Thinking" and fantastic take on Michael Jacksons "Remember The Time" by Stuff. Thrown in amongst this you will find commercial tracks such as Agentha Faltskog's latest single "Dance Your Pain Away" and The Wanted's "Walk Like Rihanna". There are a couple of fantastic bootlegs on here too...listen out for the mash up between Madonna's "Vogue" and Ducks Sauce's "Barbara Streisand...it's wicked! As the mix progresses it gets more up tempo, a little harder and definitely dirtier...with stand out tracks being "Gluttony" by Lica Cassini and "The End" by Stefano Noferini. Add to all this some amazing remixes of big classic tunes and you get my Gaydio Summer sound.

This mix embraces Hard On's deeper side as we explore the new genre of hip shaking, dirty and sexy deep house.  Focusing on the year 1990, i have picked 30 tracks that I remember playing back in the days in Sydney. Dance music still remained eclectic and varied from acid house to SAW pop styled dance tunes, from low tempo funky grooves to stomping italo house. They are all represented on this mix.

 Big pop stars like Madonna kept belting them out while this was the year of Kylie Minogue who had 4 big tracks of which I selected my favourite 'Step Back In Time' and the biggest floor filler of the time 'What Do I Have To Do'. Italo house was still packing the floor, Acid House was starting to fade and there was a nod to the big band with certain remixes of big hits packing the floor. This is 1990. Do the do!

This podcast is a 2 hour extraction reflecting a sexy, funky, some times deep but always uplifting soundtrack heralding the return of Playtime. As with all Live Sessions there is no tracklist, so sit back, turn it up and get ready to PLAY!

The tracks and order are not exactly what I played on the night, but is very close, the tunes taken from the playlist that I could recall. The music is very uplifting and made up of several genres. There is that 'circuit' sound that still seems to be popular with some of the continental lads. I also added some driving funky house into the mix, a few commercial remixes, and a couple of anthems for good measure.

After hearing the other DJs there was no doubt my sound was going to stand out...it was less tribal and more funky. It had more disco elements and less Guetta/circuit flavours, and to be honest I was concerned it may not work. It did (much to my relief). So much that I was rushed with requests for a copy of it, so here it is, as close as I could get.

I would like to thank the Delice boys for the fun and the memories and look forward to doing it again.

With a new radio station, my ability to create any mix i wanted was to good an opportunity. I decided to select a gorgeous selection of saucy grooves from current cuts to a few of my favourites, and then mix them all up.

You will quite a few genres in this one hour mix...Deep House certainly gets it's head in, along with some gorgeous vocal tunes, some very funky rhythms, some really amazing covers/remixes and a tad of disco. I also dropped in a few mashups. Some of the feature tracks include Hum, Pride (In The Name Of Love), Happy (always packs a floor), and a fab speed garage styled take on Music In Me.

This mix features several of the biggest Italo house records 'Ride on Tome' by Black Box, Numero Uno by Starlight and the rework of the Chicago house classic Work It To The Bone' by Italo producers Capella with "Haylom Halib'. Throw in the 49ers 'Touch Me', the stompers favourites 'Pump Up The Jam' by Technotronic and Kaze 'Stomp' and you are getting a good idea of how music was changing. By 1989 I was loving the Italo House sound that was starting to emerge. This mix contains some defining artists like Madonna, Donna Summer, Rick Astley, Lisa Stansfield, Blackbox and Soul II Soul. Again diversity rules here from PWL mixes, Hip-house, Stomping, Italo House and Soulful precursors to RnB. And yes, all these were played...some are pure classics like 'Ride On Time' and spawned a genre, others were part of dancing trend call stomping (yes, I could do it!) such as Stomp by Kaze and Get Busy by Mr Lee. This is when Madonna started to go stellar, Donna Summer turned to PWL and others thought megamixes were a geat way of defining an era. And there was the Reynold Girls on PWL who chanted 'rolling stones, golden oldies ,we dont want them back, we would rather jack than Fleetwood Mac...and Ezee Posse who claimed 'every things starts with an E'. 1988 was a year of diversity and marked a time of change. While Stock, Aitken & Waterman still reigned supreme and they have several productions on here While SAW also embraced the jacking sound of house too, it was Acid House that was changing the sound on the dancefloors and the charts. While jacking house was reaching it's end of influence, acid was coming out full force, and this sound is featured on LGS 1988 VOL 2- Acid In My Tea Mix (out soon)

I began DJing  roughly in 1987 which is why the first of these mixes is called LGS 1987. On it I have mixed 20 tunes that were in my 'box' at the time. It is a real walk down, or should I sat boogie, down memory lane.

In those days music had variety, and several genres would quite happily sit side by side. From Jacking house to the sound of Stock, Aitken & Waterman and from Acid House to hip-hop inspired tunes. This was the time of the sampler, which Pump Up The Volume by MARRS used to full effect. It was also the time of Ecstasy...real E's...100% (or close to) MDMA.

This mix proved a challenge, cutting it back to a collection of favourites without the fillers, the bridges and other various hits that would see smooth mixes and easy transition. Quite often in those a day one genre wold end cold and another would start. There is an element of this on here but I have done by best to create one seamless mix that would seem at home on the Mardi Gras dancefloor.

Songs only become special because we add meaning to them. Many of these tunes had collective memories, and although each track will mean something different to each person, they were part of the soundtrack that united us. LGS1987 is a tribute to the music that shaped our lives from that year.
