This wasn't the set I had planned in my head, but I decided that the most important thing for the evening was to relax and have a good time and let things go where they needed to go. Judging by the crowd and the requests I got, the crowd seemed to content to go back to some of the Circuit classics, so I went that direction and had fun.

* My actual choice was World Hold On (Original Mix) - by Bob Sinclar. I had the wrong CD in the slot, so we got a surprise change in direction. On the one hand, I don't think it changed things TOO much, but I took it as a reminder to go ahead and be a little more flexible. It worked out well.

(R) I ended up playing 4 songs by request (one of them was a repeat of a song I had played very early on). I did have a few requests that didn't work with what I was doing.

You've got one classic 80s track and two recent hip/hop tracks that I wouldn't have known existed if I hadn't just looked them up on YouTube. Nothing personal, this just isn't what I do. The frustrating part of it is that the main room DJ probably would have been more than willing to play those for them -- some people just want to hear their song, regardless of what else is going on.

Dark Beat (Peter Rauhofer Mix) - Oscar G & Falcon

This last track was in the right ballpark, but the wrong set. A well known track from the past few years but at the time the guy asked, I was in the middle of a set that was all about happy-happy and high energy. Would have worked in a darker, more afterhours type of set but that just shows you the importance of song selection and timing.
