Nicholas Joyride — Wed, 03 Jun 2015 02:57:06 +0000

I was watching the incredible (Tuesday night) live stream from VisualICandy.com tonight with a mix by DJ Callen and ran into this crazy electro swing tune from Enzo Siffredi & Jfth. I hope you dig it!

Mobile-Ready Announcement

This week (March 23-27), I’ll be updating the site for smartphone compatibility. I had been waiting to work out some audio player bugs on the desktop version, but I’m re-prioritizing the site to generate more gigs above delivering great new tunes on a weekly basis. There are a million sites that do the latter well. … Continue reading →

FJR1300: Mystery Leak

Nicholas Joyride — Mon, 22 Sep 2014 23:36:05 +0000

My motorcycle is leaking some kind of fluid. I suspect it is brake fluid since the first time I noticed the leak most of the fluid was on the brake side of the rear wheel.

The problem I ran into today is getting access to check the brake fluid level. I’ve removed all of the obvious retaining clips and bolts holding “Panel F” in place but there must be that one last bolt I need to remove. I don’t see how I can get it off, unless I remove this decal.

Any ideas?

Feeling Defeated? This song is for you…

Nicholas Joyride — Sat, 24 May 2014 07:01:43 +0000

I have always wanted to help people to get past their gloomy days. If you’re having one of them today, I think the words of my friend David Ronderos will help. Maybe the rain is just what you need. After all — EVERYTHING NEEDS RAIN TO GROW.

Throwback Thursday: Bones Edition

Nicholas Joyride — Fri, 21 Feb 2014 05:22:44 +0000

In the 2000s, Icedbreaks worked with a number of promoters to bring a variety of shows to the Fargo-Moorhead community. In 2003, we teamed up with Red River Rising to bring Frankie Bones, ESP Woody McBride, and G-13 to fill up the midwest leg of the We Sold Our Souls For Techno Tour. It was a killer time PLUS, we got a great recording of many of the DJs.

For this #TBT I dug out the 2 CDs that resulted from Frankie Bones’ mayhem on wax. I hope you dig it.

The One Motorcycle Show – Feb 7-9th, 2014

Nicholas Joyride — Fri, 31 Jan 2014 00:58:29 +0000

The One Motorcycle Show is not about rules or pre-conceived notions because their is no right or wrong way to build a bike. It’s about motorcycles with a purpose and a story. It’s the opportunity to get rare, weird, old, new, and all around amazing bikes together in one spot. It’s one-off concepts, and pristine-better- than-showroom classics. It’s the old and new generations getting together to celebrate the One motorcycle. We’re a community on the search for the ultimate truth of mechanism and it’s essential one-ness.

New Earplugs from Etymotic Research

Nicholas Joyride — Sun, 12 Jan 2014 00:02:18 +0000

My new HiFi earplugs from Etymotic Research came in the mail today. I got them at the recommendation of an audio engineer friend in Portland. I have grown tired of stuffing toilet paper or paper towels in my ears if I forget my plugs… and I miss the high end when I put in my favorite foam plugs. Here are some of the features from the company’s website, see all the claims, benefits and features at etymotic.com:

3-Piece Design:

Consistent Bandwidth Attenuation:

I am eager to try them out. Click on the photo for the Amazon store where I bought mine.

At only $12.99, my new earplugs should dampen all levels equally so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on any particular bandwidth.

FMPDX Video Set Streaming Today

Nicholas Joyride — Mon, 30 Dec 2013 22:27:42 +0000

This September, I was asked to play for a Sunday BBQ that follows the monthly house music event, FLIGHT. The BBQs are webcast LIVE via MixLR and the video archived for later release.

This morning marks the release of that video archive for my set. I played alongside Ben Tactic and Shane Bowser. Each of us had big gigs coming the following week. Thanks to Andrew Boie, James Collier, and Chris Demetras (Art of Hot) for having me.

Sundays have never felt this good… regardless of hangover. I hope you find some gems in my mix.
