This mix has been mastered by the legend Scott Bond and when listening to it we understand exactly why he has earned that title of legend. To me this mix is the kind that is great to listen to on a long drive, it is packed full of uplifting tunes, soaring melodies and soothing vocals. Although this is an uplifting trance mix there is great variety in the tracks and their nature, but a major theme throughout this mix is that dreamy and euphoric sound. It’s perfect for those of us that love trance in its purest form!

A message from the DJ – Scott Bond:

Throughout last year, I have been fortunate enough to receive some exceptional trance music from a whole host of different producers and labels around the globe. The music scene moves fast and I feel that some of these artists and producers sometimes do not receive the credit and airplay that they rightly deserve.

I’m not a follower of the latest trend and have always been a believer in two types of music, good or bad. I assess on whether the tune is firstly any good and secondly, did it stand out to me – who made it, what label it is on or if another DJ has been playing it out is irrelevant.

I have created a 3 hour mix which I would consider to be a tapestry of trance. “REBOOTED Vol.01″ is first in a series of cutting edge, uplifting trance. It is a mix woven with care and attention, containing the finest ingredients to have graced my ears in 2012. This should not to be perceived as a “Best of 2012″ or “An End of Year 2012″ mix but more of an extended online mix album, crafted with that same degree of quality.

About Scott Bond:

Scott Bond: DJ, Producer and Promoter. So instead of my usual review I’ve chosen to do a shorter post outlining the 3 best and 3 worst aspects of my day at the recent Future Music Festival!

BEST

Hardwell: This guy is only so young but he was definitely the shining light of my day! He played a set full of energy, great tracks and although he predominantly plays house he threw in a few unexpected trance tracks! My favourite of his set was Invasion by W&W which is by now a trance classic!

Flemington Racecourse: Although there’s a great vibe present at most summer festivals, for me there’s something about Flemington that is just magic. It could be due to the freshly cut grass or the immaculate flora & fauna that the racecourse keeps, but either way this place adds that fun and jovial element to the festival that concrete-covered venues just don’t have.

The lineup as a whole: Every year it seems that Future Entertainment bring this festival to another level. This year saw something amazing for a fan of almost any genre! The trance acts for this year were some of the best I’ve seen at recent festivals and consisted of: TyDi, Super8 & Tab, Ben Gold, Andy Moor, W&W and Cosmic Gate.

WORST

The volume at the trance stage: Unfortunately this year the Wake Your Mind stage hosting all of the trance artists at this year’s event was moved to an outside area; previously being in a large tent towards the back of the festival. This stage was not only outside but it was marginally smaller. Smaller stage = smaller speakers = less sound…. this greatly disappointed me as I couldn’t hear the music properly unless I pushed far into the thick crowd!

The hot weather: This one isn’t the organiser’s fault. Unfortunately Melbourne’s weather is known to be extremely volatile and crazy, so our city decided that the day of the event would be not only hot, but sticky as well. This makes for one messy and sweaty festival! But there isn’t much that can be done about this… it’s all part of the experience… for better or for worse!

Lack of water: on a hot day and being surrounded by people on all sides, dancing non-stop for 10 hours straight can really work up a thirst. One problem I faced was that it was very difficult to buy WATER at the event. Organisers allowed the sale of water only at designated stations (where the lines were massive), and had not permitted food sellers to sell water. My group of friends and I were forced to buy other soft drinks, either drink or empty out the contents and then refill the bottles from the taps. This wasn’t a huge issue but it was rather inconvenient.

Hello fellow trance people!

We’re back again with yet another varied trance mix. This one’s right on the cutting edge of Psychedelic trance, with blends of all sorts of rhythm and sounds. The man who will be taking you on this 1 and a half hour long journey is Colm Mulgrew. His selection of psychedelic music is not for the feint hearted. Although it is gritty, there are beautiful melodies woven into the mix, along with wonderful psychedelic speakers.

Hello hello hello, it’s time for Valentines celebrations!

We are back again with a wonderful fusion of tracks to go along with the love that this day is all about. Today is a day to love and appreciate all things, all beings, and of course… love for that all important trance music.

Hosting us on this lovely journey, is another talented new DJ to commandeer our TranceMix decks, his name is Karl Forde.

Karl Forde is a producer of electronic music, and currently has over 30 tracks and remixes released. He’s been producing since 2007, which saw the release of his debut track, “Eternal Future“with Deeplife Records. This was followed by the release of the Eternal Future album on February 14, 2008. The album includes an exclusive remix of “You Were On His Mind” by Dj Ru from Aloft Studios, United Kingdom.

With many releases under his belt, 2013 brings new and exciting things for Karl Forde. While he is constantly working on brand new tracks and remixes, he also has 2 online radio mix shows. Karl Forde’s Fusion 22 airs every Wed night from 9-11 EST on Godsdjs Radio and every 2nd Saturday of the month 4-5 pm EST on God Radio Greece. Happy New Year everyone! I hope your January has been going very well for you.

To celebrate the coming of 2013, we have a super uplifting 2 and a half hour mix from DJ Ravemaster. Much like our last mix in 2012, Renaissance is full of beautiful melodies, and incredible synths, what trance music is all about.

We decided to entitle this mix as Renaissance because of this new age, this new world we are shifting into. Many are calling it the golden age, as we go through this apocalypse. I use apocalypse in its original meaning, to uncover, to reveal, to become more aware.

I hope this mix will inspire you to be the new world you want to see, the world of love, in this age of love.

22. The Promoters reserve the rights in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardize the fair and proper conduct of the competition. The Promoters legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

23. If for any reason the competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoters reserve the rights in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.

24. In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoters may in their absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions at a later date.

About the DJ:

Tommy Urbanski was born in Katowice in southern Poland.

From 2001 to 2004 he was a full time DJ playing his sets all over Poland, also participating in the Budapest Parade After Party in 2002.

He has now been living in London for the last eight years.

After a few years break from DJ’ing caused by mind numbing work and (let’s be honest) laziness & lack of inspiration, he decided that music is too important to let go and recently started to be creative again.

As there is too much good music to stay boxed in one genre his mixing styles and music choices are diverse and can oscillate between the moods of jazzy chill-out (for recreational and relaxing purposes:) right to occasional deep-Tech-House.

After a few very successful podcasts on trancemix.org Tommy Urbanski has now officially returned to his roots of Progressive Psy-Trance.

I know it’s been a while, and we thank you all for waiting. Our weekly trance mix show will now be a monthly show, this is so that we can keep the trance mix show going whilst we build the next stage of the TranceMix and DJMixes project entitled GrooveSurge.

GrooveSurge’s mission will be the same as TranceMix/DJMixes: “Our mission is to increase connectivity between people, through the exploration of music and its culture.“. I can’t say too much about what you can expect from GrooveSurge just yet, but you can expect an even better trance experience there. As part of this release, Brioni Faith ran a remix competition – where the winners got to have their remix featured on the release. Our guest Djs for this show are two of the three winners from that competition: Deep Energy (The official winner) and Nige-B (Runner up).

The show kicks off with Deep Energy’s amazing remix – (that literally blew the judges away!) then flows into some atmospheric and uplifting trance from Nige-B, and then moves into some harder hitting tech and driving trance from Deep Energy.

Keep an ear our for Nige-B’s stunning Cyber Sex remix featured in his set as well.

Not only do we get to share the new release ‘The Dream’ with you, but we also have a very special show put together by 2 of the Djs/Producers that have been part of this release.

The show begins with our featured tune this week: Carlsën & Thunder feat. Brioni Faith – The Dream. Followed by 2 incredibly uplifting trance mixes. The first mix is from Rafaël Carlsën; one of the writers of ‘The Dream’, and then the second mix is from Martin Libsen, who has a created a couple of epic remixes for this release.

Its nearly two hours of uplifting, progressive, power trance, with some amazing breakdowns and stunning atmospheric synths.

Coming from Poland, and also known as Marcin Liberkowski, Marcin has been making trance music since 2008 – and going by the name Martin Libsen since 2010.

His style leans towards uplifting, epic melodies, dynamic tech trance, and even into a bit of psy trance, as Martin is constantly finding new ways to grow and evolve as a Music Producer.

He has gained a lot of support and recoginition from many of the big names, including Roger Shah, Aly & FIla and many others. Martin is not only developing a reputation for his quality remixes, but as as a prominent music producer in his own right.
