At Shanghai Pudong airport (PVG), the toilets (just like the majority of new public toilets across Shanghai) are luxurious. Thanks to the Expo and the Olympics before them, the standards of public conveniences have sky-rocketed across the country.

I can’t believe it’s been so long since I wrote here – so many people have called me ‘lazy’…and it’s sort of true! My head’s been under the radar, but I have been:

It almost seems inevitable at this point – Google will be pulling out of China. It is unclear about what exactly will still be available to the millions of people who use Google’s services every day here, but staff at Google.cn were rumoured to have spent yesterday watching Avatar and eating a farewell meal, before either joining the US office or finding new employment.

It’s been confirmed that Baidu was in fact hacked by the funnily named ‘Iranian Cyber Army’ earlier today.

Reports on Kaixin001 (The Chinese equivalent of Facebook) suggest that Baidu (The Chinese equivalent of Google) was hacked early this morning by Iranian cyber terrorists! This might be a hoax, but I think if it was then….they would have made a better PS picture!

I went to see Avatar at the cinema on Friday night! I think that it is the first movie that has been totally hyped beyond recognition, then when I went to see it finally surpassed all of my expectations!

Avatar is a really long movie but when it finished it felt like I’d just sat down – I think that’s a positive thing. One non-positive thing is that I drank three beers during it and so I was really REALLY bursting for a piss when it finished. This might have led to me forgetting what happened during the last thirty minutes of the movie because of the rush of blood to my head. That’s a good reason to watch it again though!
