Yoona, who starred in KBS 2TV’s Monday-Tuesday drama, “Love Rain”, (script by Oh Sooyeon, directed by Yoon Sukho), talked with Star News on May 30th through SM Entertainment. She said, “During ‘Love Rain’, I reflected on myself and considered it to be valuable time.”

Yoona continued, “It’s been a while since I was in a drama. ‘Love Rain’ is a drama that has allowed me to experience a lot of different emotions which I couldn’t feel before in my previous works. But above all, it was good to have time to reflect on myself once more.”

Yoona also mentioned, “I was even happier that I got to work with good actors and staff. I will try my best to grow and improve for everyone.”

Eunjung, Qri and Hwayoung of girl group T-ara held an impromptu fan meet at a local store of a fried chicken retailer Gibalhan Chicken, which the group models for.

On May 30, the three members of the girl group visited a store in Cheonho-dong, eastern Seoul, following in the footsteps of other group members Soyeon and Hyomin who did the same earlier in the year in Busan.

“When Soyeon and Hyomin visited a local store in Busan for a fan meet, more than 3,000 fans came down to the store. Thus, we thought it might be a good idea to do the same in Seoul,” said a representative from the girl’s agency.

Meanwhile the fried chicken brand said that it chose T-ara to be the face of its brand as “the girls are popular with those in their teens right through to those in their 60s.”

With the face of the girls to its name, the brand said it hoped to expand into the Asian market. The retailer said that there are plans for different flavors named after girl group members in the near future.

Hallyu group Super Junior has dominated the academic world by landing a spot inside a Thai textbook.

In the music textbook for high school seniors, the Korean band was mentioned with an accompanying picture as “The artist who performed the biggest concert in Thailand.”

The mention was in reference to the band’s “Super Show 4” concert, which took place in Bangkok from March 16 to 18. The Thai concert run was extended by one night due to fans’ demands and amassed more than 40,000 audience members in total.

The show was noted for bringing the most number of audience members to a concert. With three concerts in a row, it was also the longest-running consecutive show in Thailand.

YG Entertainment has fallen short from the expectations with their first half of the year result of their agency's earnings. YG Entertainment has revealed their first half of the year report on the 30th of May and they have made 17.9 billion won in total sales and operating profit of 3 billion won with net profit of 3.6 billion won. Although the numbers are impressive it has fallen short compared to their numbers on the same period last year. Their earnings for the same period compared to last year fell 2.5% and 15.3% on their operating profit.

Nevertheless, YG Entertainment was able to rake more than 20 billion won for the first half which is huge but shows a huge gap in the market compared to SM Entertainment's 38.4 billion won sales for the first half of this year. YG Entertainment seemed to have started the year a little slower but experts say the company will manage to recover for the second half.

Experts say for the second half, it will be big for YG Entertainment and they will rapidly recover. The YG Family Concert in Japan and Big Bang and 2ne1's album sales in Japan will be reflected in the second half earnings as well as the upcoming Big Bang world tour, repacked album release and 2ne1's comeback. Experts say that they are expecting more or less around 29.6 billion won in operating profit and 74 billion won in sales and revenue byt the second half.
