Council asks Public to Conserve Water due to Warm Weather

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Customers for conserving water over the past few months which has resulted in reduced demand. However we are appealing to the public and businesses to continue to conserve water and minimise usage as we only have a limited capacity for the production of treated water.

The BRAND Project will be holding a conference on Place Branding in Dun Laoghaire on the 21st June this year.

Come along to find out how the towns of Rhyl, Holyhead, Athy and Dun Laoghaire have worked to engage and re-energise local communities and reposition themselves as positive places to be.

Over the last 3 years work has been taking place to help strengthen the identity and improve the reputation of these towns helping to create a strong place brand.

There will be a series of short presentations from each of the BRAND Project partners so you can take-away hints, tips and tools from each town that could benefit your place.

Proposed Temporary Closure of Main Street Dundrum

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is proposing to close Main Street, Dundrum between its junction with Upper Kilmacud Road to just south of the entrance to the old Dundrum Shopping Centre.The closure is to take place from 1.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. on Sunday 24th June, 2012.

The purpose of the proposed closure is to facilitate the Dundrum Arts and Cultural Festival.

Extension of Temporary Closure of Church Road, Ballybrack

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council proposes to extend the temporary closure of Church Road, Ballybrack to through traffic, from its junction with Wyattville Road and Military Road to its junction with Killiney Avenue, until Friday 25th May, 2012 due to unforeseen ground conditions and severe weather.

The purpose of the closure is to facilitate road restoration works.

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council Approves Capital Expenditure Programme of 165million euro for the 4 Year period 2012 to 2015

The Council at its meeting last night approved a Capital Expenditure Programme of 165 million euro over the 4 year period 2012 to 2015. Approximately 113 million euro of the total expenditure of 165 million euro will be funded from the Council's own resources, with the balance of 52 million euro coming from non Council sources - mainly grant aid from central government Departments. The Council will not have to undertake any borrowing to fund the Capital Expenditure Programme.
