The railings on top are there for safety when the workers were attatching the cables, so i think they will come down. It needs alot more themeing for it to look any bit ok! I dont know what they were thinking when they designed Toy Story Playland! I wish they had spent the money on one GOOD ride and not 3 bad ones! and to make things worse its not even going to be open until august!! so disappointing!

I think the whole of WDS needs some serious vegetation added to it. The main thing that comes to mind when one is in there is the amount of concrete. If you compare Disney's Hollywood Studios in WDW one can see how lush it looks with the amount of greenery there.

Lets hope after all the commotion at DCA John Lasseter and Robert Iger will point their concentration to our slice of the Disney magic here in Europe. The damage from Mike Eisner is still left and we need help!!!!

IMO, I think that we should all just hold back and take a deep breath - we don't know exactly what the Disney team have in mind as the designs are simply that - designs! What we need to do is stop with the negativity and think of some positives as we don't have a clue what the finished product is going to be like.

^ I think the Studios need a lot of trees, just like the Disneyland Park. Not only to cover Toy Story Playland, but also in the rest of the park. When you look at the Disneyland Park, you'll see that trees cover other themes from eachother, so you won't be ably to see Big Thunder Mountain from Adventureland and the Orbitron from Fantasyland.

I agree John. I have vented my frustration elsewhere on DLRPtoday blog - more to do with opening date of Toyland. Tower of Terror is hideous, now this!

I appreciate DLRP is a smaller park than in the US, but the latest attractions are so small-scale in terms of 'Wow-factor'. A series of houses with balloon clusters that rise and fall at some falls - all directly based on UP! would have been nice.

Now I am truly upset. When I last went to DLP, Pirates of the Caribbean attraction was "Closed for your future enjoyment", so really frustrated that then meant an increase in the queues for other rides such as Thunder Mountain (so didn't get to go on that one either).

I had booked with Short Breaks from here in the UK, and at the time of booking the official Disney site stated Summer 2010. Being optimistic, I am travelling mid-Summer and will subsequently miss the opening of the Toy Story Land that was being heavily featured as part of the next gen promotion.

With the launch of the Alice in Wonderland movie, i was expecting improvements to the attractions relative to that, but still the same, lame maze.

So, what's actually new for me to see in the 4 years since i went last? No doubt by the time i go, thunder mountain will be closed for my future enjoyment too!

It was very crowded on Saturday with St. David’s day. It began to clear up around 9pm.
I was surprised because there where fireworks just an hour later. I had no problem finding a good spot to film the fireworks.

Next week St Patrick’s Day, I can’t wait!!!

The frightening part is that this ugly tower is probably almost finished. If I look at the concepts, the only thing that's missing are the horizontal beams connecting those overhanging platforms, but maybe they just omited them in the final design. The pesky railings on top also aren't in the concept, so there is hope they might remove them too.

Even Jumping Jellyfish in DCA looks better, with at least a minimal level of theming tacked onto it.

They should move over some of those already nicely grown sequoias surrounding Sequoia Lodge and fence off the whole area with it. Something with considerable height is needed to make this disappear.

Thank god it's gone! something that definatley won't be missed... It's great to see the Welsh fetival thingy happening Annually. I'd love to go to the one next year. I don't think "what a relief" sounds too good in Welsh... "Dyna rhyddhad", perhaps... "o'r diwedd!" (it's about time") works better.

I commented on another issue earlier, but reading this article it reminds me that I really desire an improvement of Tram Tour and Armageddon. Especially in Armageddon it's the cast inside the mainshow who can make a difference. If you are in the show, but don't know what you're about to see (simply cause you weren't paying attention in the boring mainly french spoken pre-show), you really need funny Cast Members in the mainshow to know where to look.

My team in 2002 were "acting" on the voice of Colonel Andropov, walking around the show towards the spots where the effects were shown. It helps the spectators to see the SFX. Instead of seeing 2 effects and the flame, you see 10 effects, an open corridor where we almost flew into space and 3 flames. The people were thinking 2 things: 1) I've seen some cool effects, nice show 2) These guys are crazy, the do bring some magic into this attraction.

There is room for improvement if you look at the current cast in both parks!

I commented on another issue earlier, but reading this article it reminds me that I really desire an improvement of Tram Tour and Armageddon. Especially in Armageddon it’s the cast inside the mainshow who can make a difference. If you are in the show, but don’t know what you’re about to see (simply cause you weren’t paying attention in the boring mainly french spoken pre-show), you really need funny Cast Members in the mainshow to know where to look.

My team in 2002 were “acting” on the voice of Colonel Andropov, walking around the show towards the spots where the effects were shown. It helps the spectators to see the SFX. Instead of seeing 2 effects and the flame, you see 10 effects, an open corridor where we almost flew into space and 3 flames. The people were thinking 2 things: 1) I’ve seen some cool effects, nice show 2) These guys are crazy, the do bring some magic into this attraction.

There is room for improvement if you look at the current cast in both parks!

The critics are understandable in a way, but it's always easy to talk about problem, instead of solving them. In this time of crisis, after a positive increase of revenues during the 15 years celebration - it's now a fact that there hardly any money to invest in major attractions. We were lucky to obtain a coaster such as Crush and to get the Tower of Terror, but if you have no money to spend, this Toy Story theme is the best you can get sofar. It's easy to compare those attractions with Six Flags, but these attractions you also find already in other Disney themeparks. Also in the amazing big financial moneymaker Walt Disney World you find such a part in the park (a Bug's Life). An not to mention that the Rock 'n Rollercoaster was already excisting in Six Flags Holland way before the Disney version came in Florida.

Spalsh Mountain is nice, but only fun in hot springs and warm summers. It's an attraction which you have to shut down in winter. Even in rain it's crap. Soarin is to expensive for the moment. Mission Space would be cool, a blockbuster, but it has major difficulties to operate properly. You have all wonderful ideas how it should be, but you are sometimes far from the reality how it can be, with the money there is (n't).

Maybe it's a good reason not to come for a while...to be suprised and amazed when a major attractions can finally be provided by external investors. Until then...enjoy the attractions you'll find.

First necessary investment: staff who can bring back the magic!

It makes me sad. Asthetics should come first. It's supposed to be immersive. It's been a while since I saw a track poking out of the Hollywood Hills. Lame.
