Initial Loading Speed !

Hi,

To speed up initial loading speed of the site , I have received one of the suggestions , that it is beneficial to remove “CopyRight” provided at the bottom the page. But suggestions are silient about “Terms Of Use and Privacy Statement”

If the DNN site becomes slow due to above mentioned items, than it creates Doubt :-

Is DNN sites are suitable for sites having more than 10-20 pages

Child Portal Logout Issue

Hi All,

we are having multi sites as parent child sites.

iam facing a problem with child portal i.e..

if i create any user in child site and login into child site,

then after if i perform any action ex:even click on any page in the portal

site is getting log out .

this is only with the users created in child site only ..

if the user which was created in parent site we are able to login to child site also.

only issue is with the users created in child sites....

please any of u help me out from this issue...

Is it possible to have the login and password box on the homepage, so members can type in their details and login in straight away, instead of clicking on the login in link (taking to separate page to login)?

Hi.
I need to deploy my DNN (V5.1) Website.

My developing PC is also my web server station.
Currently it is in a developing stage as I need to click "debug" at the Visual Studio 2005 to run it and test.

How can I deploy this website so that user just enters the web link address to access the website?

For my web service, I will deploy via IIS.

My understanding is that you already have a existing web page (with all the functions/codings), you want to copy this into DNN 5.1? Is that what you trying to say?

Does DNN, or any of the gurus involved, have any system for generate “Affiliate Codes”?

Our main client OneLife International, is a Financial Education company, graduate from the program has then the option of becoming resellers – type affiliates.

Our project is to set up small websites for these resellers, using registration / list building tools as “Taknology” or similar. The information should be sent directly to OneLife, but with ID off the sender.

In addition we want to use banner ads on established reseller sites, taking the visitor to an OneLife Landing and Registration site.

Yes, I have seen almost all of those videos actually. I originally signed up to DNN Creative to learn more about skinning in particular, and your videos have been an invaluable resource! I believe these were the first ones to specifically focus on ASXC skinning though, no?

I suppose anything that falls under the category of "advanced skinning techniques" would be of interest to me. Just off the top of my head I might like to learn more about:

The DNNMenuNavigationProvider
I get the feeling I don't know the full capabilities of the default DNNMenuNavigationProvider. I know you like the HouseMenu (I've used it on a couple projects too -- it is nice), but nonetheless would be interested in doing some fancy things with the default menu. Isn't it a bit better than the SolPartMenu was? And maybe it can do some things the HouseMenu can't do?

jQuery
Maybe something about using jQuery to make photo slideshows or tabbed content within the text/html module?

Well anyway I'm what you'd call a 'satisfied' customer. I really do appreciate all your hard work and look forward to each issue. Thanks.

Two options.

First: Create a skin for the home page that doesn't include the breadcrumb. I'd just copy the skin and remove the breadcrumb code.

Second: Put some conditional code in the skin file around the breadcrumb that suppresses it if it's the home page. If you search around the forum, you'll find some references to putting conditional code into a skin. Since most of that came from Snapsis.com, you could go to their DotNetNuke support forums for more extensive discussions of how it's done. This month's discussion of ascx skins dovetails nicely with that discussion.

When building the skin, you register the skinobject controls once for each time you use the skinobject in your ascx file e.g. in the tutorial you register the dnn menu twice for two instances of the menu. Is it possible to just register the menu once and then use it twice by changing giving the second instance a different id only e.g. dnnMenu1, dnnMenu2.

Ok, I put it in the skin file and it is not working...

the skin file is an .ascx, do I put it inside the div tag

or above it? and is there other code I need to add to make it work?

Check Admin, Pages and see if you have duplicates of pages.
