dot net nuke 5.1.4be used to duplicate Access DB forms functionality

Hi all,

I have an access DB which has many forms, querys and reports that I want to duplicate into dotnetnuke.

Which modules will i need to make this happen and what do i need to do on the back end to transfer the data from access db to SQL?

Has anyone done this yet and are there any simple tutorials you reccomend I read?

E-Commerce Store Question

Hello! I may have to create a small level E-Commerce web site. I would like to ask you all which DNN store modules/extensions have you used or heard about that were found successful or unsuccessful?

I know DNN has a built in Store module, but have not found anyone using it that will show me a sample of a live site running a DNN store on it. I also know that there are 3rd party modules that are available for stores.

Could you provide me with some insight as to your experience or knowledge of E-Commerce sites in general? Thanks for your time!

Error accessing database...

Hey Guys/Gals,

I have always had a problem accessing my DNN database from Microsoft SQL Management Studio Express. I am running SQL Express 2005, and 95% of the time if I open SQL Management Studio Express, right-click on my DNN database and choose Properties I get the following error:

Database 'AAMunro_DNN' cannot be opened due to inaccessible files or insufficient memory or disk space. See the SQL Server errorlog for details. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 945).

Is this because DNN is currently accessing the database? It seems that if I stop IIS and let it sit for a few minutes I can then access the database, which makes me believe that its due to the file being opened by IIS/DNN (although the "Process Explorer" utility doesn't show it as being opened).

The reason I am looking at this problem again is that I am trying to use a utility I found (SQL Backup and FTP) to backup my database, and its reporting the same problem while trying to perform a backup.

I selected the Module definitions page.
I clicked on the pencil next to a module.
I went into a particular controls information, came out of it.

At some point I hit "Update Module" as I stated previously, and then, got this error.
One fix was to go into the web.config file properties through windows explorer. There i saw that it didnt have write checked, so I check it. That seemed to fix it.
I really didnt like that fix. ASPNET belongs to the users group, I think I should of just added another group to it that had sufficient authority, but I didnt like that either.
My other environments had ASPNET as a user and the web.config write unchecked.
This was the only time I ever had THIS issue with my web.config.

So, I am just wondering what DNN is trying to write to my web.config that its not telling me about ?

Yes, that's true.

But, if you are trying to get rid of a skin that is misbehaving, deleting the directory works just fine.

good evening sir,
I have a problem in xml parsing .when i run the code that contain generatexml function.which contain a line "xmlDec = xmlDoc.CreateXmlDeclaration("1.0", "UTF-8", null);"
It working fine on localhost,but gives error on server.how do i fix this error.

Another problem is that when i redirect from one url to other site url as described above questions ,ajax does not support in internet explorer but it support in ff.is there any different setting for ie.pls help me out.

Did i miss something or has AdvologixPM been converted to force.com platform. If so why did Paul decide to make the change? From the interviews it seems like they were well on their way to utilise OWS ... why the change???

That seems too easy.

When looking into the SQL database, there are tables for Skins and SkinPackages. Don't they need to be updated if skins or DNN5 Skin Packages are deleted?

Simply delete the directory that holds the skin.

It does look like there is a permissions issue. Have you verified that the directory has full permissions for the .NET worker task? Also, it would help to know what you were doing when this error occurs.

Error trying to delete skin

After watching your latest Videos on DNN5 Skinning, I created a package for my site. (Very good tutorial!)

However, when I tried to delete this skin from the Admin/Skins menu, I got this message:

This skin is part of a Skin Package. Use the Uninstall Package option in the list of Skins in the main Grid.

What/where is the "main Grid"? Is this Host/Extensions?

My site is generating an error on the Host/Extensions page.
When I go to Host/Extensions - I get the error below.
(everything else is working fine on the site)

Server Error in '/' Application.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

full error message in attachment.

Is there an easy way to fix this problem?
If not - is there a manual procedure to uninstall the skin package?

When you update a module, generally nothing is updated in web.config. If the module does need something changed, that will be specified in the module's manifest file.

After making your changes, you will need to recompile the module to create an updated dll file. You will then need to install the changes in your live version of DotNetNuke. The best way to do this is to repackage the updated module and then install it using the standard DotNetNuke module installation procedure. For more information on doing this, see either Mitchel Sellers' book or the Module Development Guide that you can get from the DotNetNuke site or from Michael Washington's site.

I have been created some modules by myself by following the instruction of adefwebserver.com, but when I download the source code and want to modify the .vb code, it doesn't effect the webpage, I don't know why, I thinks it because of the .dll file, but whenever I update the .dll file, it doesn't help or I did something wrong, Help me out please!!!!!!!!
