This year's DEMF was treated to a special guest appearance by Droid label head Moe Espinosa aka Drumcell. When Radioslave couldn't make it to Detroit for the festival, the organizers behind the Beatport stage called on Moe as a last-minute replacement, and he delivered this stellar set to a crowd in the rain.

Ed Isar's hard hitting closing set has now been released from the archives for your podcasting pleasure. Ed cut his teeth in London and Paris DJing, researching and blogging for the popular webzine Get the Curse, which has been dedicated to pronouncing the latest and greatest in underground electronic music. Recently the blog site has turned vinyl/digital imprint and will soon add their sonic output to the industry. Ed explains his LA debut at the Edgar/Devine event as a collage of "dark, druggy, weird bangers... etched in Get the Curse canon." In this mix you'll find music from such labels as Ladomat 2000, Ostgut Ton, and artists Psycatron, Inxec, Maetrik, Harry Axt and Luna City Express, Alex Celler, Pascal FEOS, and Mathew Jonson for the last bit. The set that started the night off right. Mike Gervais of Timefog has built a reputation in the Midwest and now LA for crafting well layered sets of sleek techno and hidden gems. This gig was no exception. He figured "BBQ Speed" was the right track to open the night. People came early, and so he picked up the pace. By 11pm the crowd was already body rocking and shouting for more. As Mike G says himself, "Goofy tricks here and there. Vodka in between. Good times. Droid wins."
