A native of Paris, Jef K started mixing records in 1992 after spending nine months in London. His deep, groovy and sexy house sets made him quickly earn a reputation as one of the fastest rising DJs amongst the French house scene. Long time residencies at some of Europe’s most prestigious clubs followed and Jef K regularly graced the decks at Rex Club and Respect in Paris, Fuse in Brussels, and Robert Johnson in Frankfurt.

In the mid 90′s his production had already bore juicy fruits such as Paris-Chicago Express or his presence in the mythical Parisian series as My House or French Sessions. At the end of the 90s Jef K began to leave a mark on the industry when he teamed up with brother Antoine aka DJ Tony Silver to launch the labels FFWD Records and Silver Network. 2002 saw the birth of another successful label Crack & Speed, together with partner Holmar Filipsson.

Then came more incredible tracks as Morning EP, Chaka EP, Fever EP, his 2010 hit In My System with Chris Carrier and Chez Damier; closely followed by his remixes for Claque Musique, Elevation, Moodmusic, Cecille Records, Rebirth, Suol, Airdrop, Pooled Music and One Records. Despite going into his third decade in the industry, the momentum and power of Jef K is stronger than ever and 2013 is set to be even more career defining.

Today we announce more news on the agenda of electronic music festivals for this season. This time the turn is for the renowned EXIT Dance Arena Festival and its new confirmations in the line up of 2013 edition. This year’s edition of the festival will be held from July 10 to 14 at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad. Having built its reputation over the years through breaking and championing the who’s who in the electronic music world and bringing the biggest dance acts to Serbia, this year’s edition of the EXIT Dance Arena Festival promises to strengthen the sensational career of the festival and will be as always a treasure for dance music lovers.

Three major techno visionaries leading the latest news, Jeff Mills, Mathew Jonson and Gregor Tresher who will be rocking the medieval walls of Dance Arena. Combined with Pan-Pot and Matador live, this will be a clash between the old and new school of techno. Names that join a fantastic line up which already are artists as Atoms For Peace, Seth Troxler, Dubfire, Pan-Pot, Matador live, Subb An b2b Adam Shelton, Apollonia, Deniz Kurtel, DJ Fresh Live, Friction & MC Linguistics, SKiSM, The Prototypes, Inspector Dubplate, Brookes Brothers and Dub Phizix & MC Strategy.

EXIT Dance Festival is an initiative evolving from the student protests of 2000, the expression of rebellious spirit of young people in Serbia and fighting for political change and freedom. EXIT has played a vital role in bringing together the new nations of former Yugoslavia. Developing more volume with each edition to become one of electronic music festivals best recognized on the European scene. EXIT 2013 will feature another strong social campaign that will focus on human rights and global freedoms, with a series of films, art exhibitions, lectures and debates.

With what we have as new guests to the event to Jeff Mills, godfather of Detroit techno, founder of legendary Underground Resistance, with a flawless mixing technique, a real techno time machine with more than 20 albums and 100 EPs. Mills will be joined by Mathew Jonson and Gregor Tresher who will be playing their Live shows in front of Dance Arena techno heads. Masters of mood and atmosphere will not settle with anything less than going all out with their firepower. This show wouldn’t be complete without rising stars of techno scene, Pan-Pot and Matador, who will also be performing live, making this spectacle a true arena-style battle of old and new school techno wizards. 2020Vision mark their 250th release with a very fitting project from the originator of the label Ralph Lawson. Lawson presents a selection of classic mixes and unreleased gems produced alongside his original production estpartner Carl Finlow.

Lawson started working again with Carl Finlow last year and their creative spark re-ignited immediately. There is nothing like re-finding a long lost friend especially when they have been responsible for so many great musical moments together. Their recent work for the Maya Jane Coles produced project LB testifies their superb skills are as honed as ever.

Dusty Dubs and Gold Dust will be released next Tuesday, May 20th. Many tracks were made 10 years ago but listening to them today will be the first time you, will have heard many of them. They will also be new for a whole new generation of DJs and music lovers. Also included are bona fide classics that fully deserve to be presented to the next generation of clubbers. In a time when many up and coming producers are trying to replicate early electronic house music Lawson & Finlow restate their claim as originators and pioneers of the sound. We hear now one of the remixes that appear on the album, the track Come On of DJ Dove.

A special release on 2020Vision, one of the most established and respected outlets for house music in the UK. Chez Damier, Stacey Pullen, Greg Wilson, Maya Jane Coles, Audiojack, Paul Woolford, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Simon Baker, Crazy P, Fred Everything and 2020Soundsystem are just a selection of the esteemed producers who all released music on 2020 very early in their careers. The Leeds label continues to be an outpost for quality electronic music, keeping its integrity and flying the flag for independent record labels.

And the charge of this very special album could not be other than Ralph Lawson, the creator of 2020Vision with over 20 years worth of records in his bag. Although well known as a DJ, with his long running back to basics residency, Fabric33 mix and We Love Space residency, he has remained undercover as a producer. He has been working on the live project 2020Soundsystem but this year sees him break out to produce under his own name and reform his original 2020 production partnership with Carl Finlow aka Random Factor, and the first result is this album.
