For the fifth consecutive year Ibiza will host the International Music Summit. The event, organized by the BBC Radio 1 DJ, Pete Tong, offers a unique selection of lectures and conferences about the music business. It annually attracts dozens of artists and leading executives in the electronic music industry, and after years has forged an essential role in the international music calendar.

The IMS take place in May 23-25 at the Ibiza Gran Hotel, and once again daytime sessions will be complemented by first-class evening events in the historical enclave of Dalt Vila and in the mythical club Pacha Ibiza.

F*** Me I’m Famous. Opening party

Following the success of last year’s event, David Guetta returns to host a special free party at the Dalt Vila site on the Thursday night of what’s set to be an amazing week of events, and also opens his summer residence in the island. The party is the pre-event for the world-famous F*** Me I’m Famous at Pacha Ibiza, which is where the main event will take place later the same night.

Also performing on that night with Guetta the legendary Paul Oakenfold, the hugely talented Diplo and the spectacular Goldfish (live), all that in the open air with nothing but the stars above them.

The IMS Grand Finale Festival. Closing party

The IMS Grand Finale Festival returns to the iconic Dalt Vila. In the heart of Ibiza Town and looking over the Mediterranean sea, the very special UNESCO world heritage site in Dalt Vila is without a doubt one of the finest open-air locations in the world, and this is the only electronic music event that is allowed to take place there each year.

This year the line up includes front names as Carl Cox, Loco Dice, Pete Tong, Seth Troxler and Azari & III (live). It is expected to be a spectacular event in a magical place that’s considered the opening party for the whole season.

The event is free to attend for all delegates of the IMS, with some 2,000 tickets available to the public for just 30 euros.

We leave you with a sample of 2011

This time a new Maschine expansion has been created in association with acclaimed british DJ and producer Steve Lawler, with further support from sound design firm Loopmasters. Lawler production and DJ style walks a line between upfront sounds for main rooms and tough, percussive underground grooves for dark warehouses. Now, with Dark Pressure, the secrets of his crowd-thrilling sets are in your hands.

The pack brings the sound of tough underground dance music to Maschine and Maschine Mikro, containing an expertly crafted selection of kicks, snares, hi-hats and percussion samples as well as a wealth of pre-produced rhythms optimized for techno, tech-house, minimal and similar genres.

Dark Pressure includes 42 kits with over 200 corresponding pre-programmed patterns – many created by Steve Lawler himself, providing professional building blocks for the production of muscular electronic music. This is also the first Maschine expansion to include 64 pre-sliced percussion loops for instant remixing.

All sounds and patches in Dark Pressure have been processed with pristine analog equipment as well as Maschine‘s internal effects. The Expansion integrates seamlessly with any existing Maschine sound library and also contains 5 demo projects that showcase the character and scope of the library.

A smaller version of Dark Pressure is also available for iMaschine, the groove sketchpad for iPhone and iPod Touch.
Dark Pressure is available at the Native Instruments Online Shop for 49 EUR. The mobile version is available through In-App Purchase on the App Store for just 0,79 EUR.

This label is characterized by infrequent releases as it always puts quality over quantity. For example, in 2011 they only released 4 references. They managed to forge a very personal and identifiable sound that avoids fads and that focuses on music with no expiration date, with a heavy influence from old school house.

Kutz From The Basement EP is signed by Washerman. With only a remix for the label Back and Forth, this is the first release for this artist. Washerman is the new project of Gianni Siravo, a Swiss producer who has previously released many Azuni material (with Sven Lacoste) and as Sequel, his previous project.

In Basement Chord the leading role is taken by a powerful piano chord, which grasps control from minute 1, accompanied by a rough and very strong base. The man from Zurich manages to make a thread with a lot of groove, based on a crude full analogue sound.

The second track on the EP, Basement Dub, leaves out the chord and other elements comes in and makes it sound close to deep-techno-Detroit. The groove in this serious version gets a little darker, though without losing punch.

It is definitely a 100% Drumpoet Community release, with two personal tracks that are totally for the dance floor, each for a different timing.
