Our Verdict

First one seems to be SEI tokens. They are giving away 1,000,000 in total, price seems to be $0.13 so $130,000 worth total. Although USDC/USDG/USDT is excluded, and that’s what most readers hold. As always do your own due diligence.

Many readers already have an account with OKX from the easy $200 signup bonus or the older/expired $200 referral bonus and from the deposit match deals.

The Amex Platinum now comes with $400 in annual Resy dining credits, split into $100 each quarter. Here’s how to maximize the credit, buy gift cards, stack with programs like inKind and Rakuten

Update 4/14/26: Some people have been having issues purchasing gift cards online. It seems to have started 3/30 or 3/31. I think this is actually a temporary issue affecting purchases from 3/30 – 4/2 (maybe longer?) as recent transactions seem to be unaffected. My theory is that American Express does something funky on the back end for transactions near the end of a quarter so that it properly codes for the correct quarter (e.g based on transaction date vs post date).

Original Post:

American Express added $400 in annual Resy credits to their consumer Platinum card with a new $100 credit available each calendar quarter (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sept, Oct-Dec).

You don’t need to book anything online in the Resy booking platform. You don’t need a Resy account. Simply: (1) enroll your card, (2) find a restaurant on Resy.com, (3) walk in and dine, and (4) charge it on your Platinum card.

There’s a similar $100 credit on the AmEx Gold card with $50 available from January through June and another $50 from July through December. And the AmEx Delta Platinum/Reserve cards come with a $10/$20 monthly Resy credit. The details and tips in this post would apply in similar fashion to those cards.

Using The $100 Resy Credit

Enroll: Be sure to enroll in the Resy credit before using. Just enroll the first time when you get the card and that enrollment lasts forever on that card. You can enroll at this link. (You can use the card the same day as enrollment.)

Map: Find all Resy restaurants on the Resy.com website. Search by city. Here is a sample link for a New York search. I found this map from useyourcredits.com to be easier to use (more on that below). There are over 10,000 eligible restaurants in over 1,600 cities to choose from.

U.S. Only: Only U.S. restaurants found on the Resy site are eligible.

You don’t need to book anything online in the Resy booking platform. You don’t need a Resy account. Simply find a restaurant on Resy.com, walk in and dine, charge it on your Platinum card. (I put this line at the top of the post since it’s the first question everyone asks.)

Tips/Taxes: All taxes and tips count in the charge to get the $100 credit. It’s the final charge on the card that matters.

Payment: Apple Pay in-restaurant is fine. Paying for part of the meal with your AmEx Platinum and part with another card is fine, e.g. if you spend $250, ask the waiter to charge $100 on your Platinum card and put the rest on another card. Or split the bill between two Platinum cards, if you have. You can also use up the $100 Resy credit with multiple smaller purchases throughout the quarter, e.g. dine once for $50 and then another time in the same quarter for $50.

Resy Tracker: AmEx has a tracker for the Resy credit, along with all of the other benefit trackers there. You can find it in the online login or the AmEx app. You’ll typically see the spend show up in the tracker within a few days of the purchase and then a couple of days later the actual statement credit will post to your account. Officially, Amex says to give it 8 weeks for the credit to show.

Timing: Out of caution, it’s worth doing any online purchases a few days in advance of the end of the quarter in case the charge doesn’t complete right away (see below about online gift card purchases).
Store purchases should be fine until the last day of the quarter. If the card is charged by the final day of the quarter, the credit for prior quarter should work even if the charge only settles/reflects on the next day or next business day.
Note: Occasionally purchases made in the final few hours can have issues. We’ve also heard of slight delays due to tips being added, and so out of caution it could be worth giving one day buffer for the charge to finalize, even for in-store purchases.

Gift Cards, e-Giftcards, Delivery

Physical Gift cards

Gift cards: The terms exclude gift cards from earning the $100 credit. In practice, physical gift cards purchased at Resy restaurants have been working to trigger the $100 credit. This is hugely helpful since you can get credits at the local restaurant, and then dine at your convenience, not tied to the quarterly credit schedule.

e-Giftcards & Delivery Orders

Buying a gift card from a restaurant in their online system or ordering food for online delivery is tricker since it depends how the restaurant codes the purchase. For example, some restaurants route their e-gift card purchases through Cashstar which won’t work to trigger the Resy credit.

The advice widely given is the following: If the checkout goes through the Toast checkout system then it will likely work to trigger the Resy credit.

Here is an example with a random restaurant in New York called Canoe Hill:

First I found the Canoe Hill restaurant on the Resy.com website.

Then I went to canoehillny.com and clicked ‘Purchase Gift Cards’. It brings me to the following webpage: https://order.toasttab.com/egiftcards/canoe-hill. That should work to trigger the Resy credit.

I also clicked ‘Order Take Out’ and it brings me to the following webpage: https://order.toasttab.com/online/canoe-hill. That should work to trigger the Resy credit.

To be safe, start with a small e-gift card purchase and see if the credit tracks. Tip: you can top-up an old Toast gift card instead of buying a new one. That makes it easier to have all of your balances on one card.

Useyourcredits.com: The site Useyourcredits.com is hugely helpful for finding eligible restaurants, and more specifically for finding which restaurants should work for buying an e-gift card online and getting the credit. It’s always worth double-checking on Resy.com directly before using.

With all these things – YMMV. There have been sporadic reports of online Toast gift cards not working to trigger the credit. And other kinds of errors, like getting redirected to a different branch of the same restaurant which was not eligible. Try double-checking all the details, and possibly making a small purchase first, e.g. buy a $25 e-gift card and then top up the rest when you see it working.

Maximizing The $100 Resy Credit

InKind: inKind is a dining program whereby you buy blocks of credit toward any inKind parter restaurant, often at steep discounts. Essentially you front-load you spend in chunks with inKind and they often give nice discounts for doing so (e.g. pay $100 for $150 in restaurant credits). Check for inKind deals at this DoC tag. I’ve heard that there is some overlap of restaurants who on both Resy and inKind. Do not use your AmEx Platinum card to buy inKind credits as that won’t trigger the Resy credit. But the waiter should be able to split your dining charge between your AmEx Platinum card and inKind. For example, if you dined out for $500, ask the waiter to put $100 on your Platinum card and pay the remaining $400 with your inKind balance which you purchased at a discount.

Interesting note: readers tell us that the tip (only) on your inKind purchase actually gets processed via the restaurant’s own system and shows up as the restaurant charge, not through inKind. Readers have successfully gotten their AmEx Resy credit reimbursement by paying their inKind tip with their Amex Platinum card.

Dining Programs: There are lots of card-link dining programs whereby you link your card and then get rewards or cashback when spending at select restaurants. Many of the Resy restaurants also participate in these in-store card-link rewards programs. Some mention finding overlap between Franki, Rakuten Dining, Seated, Bilt, and more. Often you have to choose only one of these rewards programs as they use the same back-end and won’t let you enroll in both. Our post, Complete List of Card-Linked Reward Programs gives a good overview of some of the options (though the post is dated – update coming soon hopefully).

Stacking Tracker: Here’s a cool website with a map of eligible restaurants, along with stacking options of Exclusive Tables, Resy, InKind, Bilt Neighborhood and more. Here is a sample link of restaurants in New York which are on Resy, Chase Exclusive Tables, and inKind – modify the filters per your needs.

Deals: Check this DoC tag #resy to see if there are any relevant deals on Resy to stack with the credit.

Local Deals: Check around the eligible restaurants in your area to see if they have any specials or certain times-of-day with special deals or other types of coupons or gift card deals.

Cashing Out the credit: You can try cashing out the $100 credit by purchasing a gift card to a local restaurant and selling it to a friend who dines there. Or work out a deal with a friend who dines at one of the Resy restaurants.

Other options: If you don’t like dining out, some mention buying bottles of wine from a local restaurant to bring home. Or send a friend an e-gift card (see the gift card section, above).

Double-dip with card signup: When you signup for the Platinum card, you can usually get five $100 credits within the first year. For example, if you apply during November, you’ll get the Q4 credit of that year and then the the Q1-Q4 credits of the following year. If you really hone in on timing, it’s possible to get six $100 credits by applying in the middle of the final month of the quarter (March, June, September, or December), and then keeping the card for a few weeks after the annual fee posts. People often like applying in December to try triple-dipping on the various annual credits that align with the calendar year, and doing so can work to squeeze in one more $100 Resy credit as well. (Even if you cancel the card before the charge posts completely you are still likely to get the $100 credit.)

Citi is offering a $300 checking bonus when you open a new checking account and complete the following requirements

Update 4/14/26: Deal has been extended to 10/26/26. Unfortunately the $750 tier has been reduced to only $500.

If somebody wants to do a walk through of things like timing the increased savings rate/citi gold benefits I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated.

The Fine Print

An EDD is an electronic deposit through the Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) Network of payroll, pension, social security, government benefits and other payments to your checking or savings account. An Enhanced Direct Deposit also includes all deposits via Zelle® and other P2P payments when made via ACH using providers such as Venmo or PayPal. Teller deposits, cash deposits, check deposits, wire transfers, transfers between Citibank accounts, ATM transfers and deposits, mobile check deposits, and P2P payments using a debit card do not qualify as an Enhanced Direct Deposit. (Note: see this comment about Zelle.)

So long as you have not owned a Citi checking account in the last 365 days, meet Tax Requirements, and are at least 18 years old, you can apply to participate in the Enhanced Direct Deposit Checking Acquisition Offer (“Enhanced Direct Deposit Offer”) (click the Offer, Product & Pricing Information link at the top of the fine print to see this)

All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

Regular & Access Checking fee waived:

<del>in the month of account opening and for 3 months after account opening or</del>

each month the account has $250+ in Enhanced Direct Deposits

Early Account Termination Fee

In the past, Citi has not charged any ETF, and none is mentioned for this offer.

Referral Bonus

You can refer people and if they sign up and complete the requirements you will get $100. The person being referred does not get an additional bonus, but they will get the standard bonus (e.g $325/$750/$1,500). Please do not share your referrals in the comments below, but you can use them in this linked thread.

Our Verdict

In some states (NY, CT, NJ, DC, VA, MD, CA, or NV) it’s possible to make the deposit bonus offer ($750/$1,500) significantly better by opening a savings account and linking it within 10 days of the checking account. Currently you can get 3.5% APY for the first three months. If you do the $200,000 deposit offer you are also eligible for Citi gold. Will stack with the Lunar new year promotion as well.

For a lot of readers the $325/$450 offers will be far simpler. We will add it to our best bank bonus page. You can see the definition of an enhanced direct deposit here.

F.A.Q’s

Big thanks to Gadget for helping me with this.

I can’t see the offer? Has it expired?

Probably not, if the offer isn’t showing for you then you need to try the following:

Copy & paste the link rather than clicking the link

Clear your cache and try the above

Copy and paste the link in incognito mode

I can’t see where it says you can’t have had an account within the past 365 days?

Look for the link that says ‘Offer’ and click it. Name of the link sometimes changes but you should be able to find it.

Scroll down to ‘Qualify’, it should state the following: “So long as you have not owned a Citi checking account in the last 365 days, meet Tax Requirements, and are at least 18 years old, you can apply to participate in the Enhanced Direct Deposit Checking Acquisition Offer (“Enhanced Direct Deposit Offer”).”

Is there an offer tracker?

Yes, there is an offer tracker but not everybody sees it unfortunately.

You need to use the Citi app:

Services > Rewards & Upgrades > Explore Rewards > Select the checking account.

Scroll to Citi Checking Cash Bonus Offer – ??? (??? being the last 3 of the account number)

After a day of account opening you should see “Congratulations, You’re Enrolled!”

The $325/$425 offer has number of EDD’s completed, and totals.

The $750/$1500 offer has the exact dates you must meet & maintain the balance.

Can also try online ‘Explore all the benefits of being a Citibank® customer, “Learn more”

How do I stack with the 3.5% savings account?

Firstly this offer is only available in certain states (most likely NY, CT, NJ, DC, VA, MD, CA, or NV but might be more). You then need to do the following:

Open checking account from promo page above

Fund with a small amount

Open the savings account using the savings promo link. This needs to be done after the checking account is opened but within 45 calendar days.

Fully fund savings account within 10 business days of opening it

Optimal time to open the savings account is as close to the 45 calendar days as possible assuming the funds are earning more than 3.5% APY elsewhere (best savings rates here). I would give yourself significant grace time in case something goes wrong.

How do I access the Citigold benefits?

Some people have been able to sign up for Citigold while doing this promotion and get the benefits for three months without depositing $200,000. You find can find a list of the benefits here. You need to activate your debit card before being able to access the Citigold benefits, you can enroll for the benefits here: https://citigold.citi.com/subscriptions.

The Trump Administration is considering requiring banks to collect proof of citizenship (e.g passports) according to WSJ & Semafor

Update 4/14/26: This is reportedly in process with Scott Bessent saying that a proposed executive order that would require banks to collect this information is “in process”.

Original post: 2/24/26: The Trump Administration is considering requiring banks to collect proof of citizenship (e.g passports) according to WSJ & Semafor. If implement the policy would be retroactive meaning banks would need to collect this information from existing accountholders. The order would be via president order, not legislation.

Financial institutions have already pushed back on the news saying that it’s unworkable, with many account holders not having this information on hand. I assume nothing will actually come from this and some other concession will be given instead. For example President Trump called for a cap on credit card interest rates of 10%, then Visa said rewards would be able to be deposited into so called ‘Trump Accounts’ and we haven’t heard much about interest rate caps again.

Additional document requirements would likely be costly for financial institutions as well, this could erode bank account bonuses, remove benefits and increase fees.

We’ve been reporting on the twice-per-year I Bond rate releases. Via Tipswatch, the new rate for May 2026 through October 2026 is likely to be 4.26% (slightly higher than the Nov2025-April2026 rate of 4.13%). More important is the projected breakdown: The new rate is comprised of 3.36% variable rate, plus a 0.90% fixed rate.

I Bonds May – October 2026

What this means:

If you already own I Bonds and keep them, you’ll get 3.36% interest rate for the six month rate period of May 2026 through October 2026 (plus whatever your fixed rate is from a previous buy, which for some people is zero).

If you buy new I Bonds between May 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026, you’ll get 4.36% for the first six months (3.36% variable + 0.90% fixed). After the six months is over, you’ll get the 0.90% fixed rate added to whatever the future variable rates are at the time.

For comparison sake: the current rate which runs November 2025 through April 2026 is 4.03% – that comes from a .90% fixed rate and 3.13% variable rate.

Our Verdict

It could make sense to buy already now in April given that the rate is decent and you’ll lock in this decent interest rate versus an unknown future rate.

Don’t forget about the 3-month penalty for those who withdraw in less than 5 years. While 4.26% isn’t a bad rate currently – especially given the state tax exemption on I Bonds and treasuries – if you lose a chunk of it to the 3-month penalty the rate isn’t as interesting.

Capital One announced today the rebranding of their Spark Miles business card ($95 annual fee, 2x everywhere) to become the Venture Business card. And their Spark Miles Select business card (no fee, 1.5x everywhere) to become the VentureOne Business card. There’s also a new limited-time 150k signup bonus offer on the Venture Business (Spark Miles) card and they added two permanent $50 annual credits.

Card Details

Venture Business

$50 annual Capital One Business Travel credit, applicable to eligible bookings made through Capital One Business Travel

Up to $50 annual advertising or software statement credit on eligible purchases across select categories

Signup bonus: For a limited time, new Venture Business cardholders can earn up to 150,000 miles: 75,000 miles when they spend $7,500 in the first 3 months, plus an additional 75,000 miles when they spend $30,000 in the first 6 months.

Card earnings:

Up to $120 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit

VentureOne Business

No annual fee

Unlimited 1.5X miles on every purchase with no categories to track or restrictions to manage

Unlimited 5X miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Business Travel

Signup bonus: 50,000 bonus miles after spending $4,500 in the first three months as a new cardholder.

Our Verdict

Other than the name change, most of the details are the same.

VentureOne Business is the same as Spark Miles Select. Signup bonus is the same as before.

Venture Business (Spark Miles) has a number of changes:

The $95 fee on the Venture Business is not waived for the first year, like it used to be on the Spark Miles.

Adds $50 annual Capital One Business Travel credit

Adds $50 annual advertising or software statement credit. This might work for things like ChatGPT and other similar types of charges or subscriptions – see this post.

They added a new 150k bonus on the Venture Business $95 card. We once a similar offer on the Spark Miles for 150k after $50k spend. This new lower $30k spend requirement makes the offer much better. Similar $2,000 bonus on the Spark Cash Plus.

Personally I’d go for the Venture Business offer, but I assume the bank won’t approve me.
