Our Verdict

There are a few fees to be aware of:

• Origination fee of 0% ($0) t0 8% ($800)
• No prepayment fee, meaning you can pay the loan back as soon as you receive the credit (30 days after the first successful payment)
• Because of the above you will probably need to pay at least two months of interest on the loan. This will vary from  5.96% APR (~$99.33) to 35.99% APR (~$599.83)

If you have great credit you could potentially make $150 in profit, but it’s a lot of work for a small upside and will impact your credit as well. Most people will be better off chasing credit card or bank account bonuses instead.

Subscribers to YouTube TV and DirecTV stream filed a lawsuit against Disney for violating antitrust laws and consumer-protection laws by engaging in schemes to raise the prices of Streaming Live Pay Television (“SLPTV”). Disney has agreed to settle the lawsuit and payout to subscribers.

Who Is Eligible?

The YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream settlements include anyone who purchased a subscription from April 1, 2019 through March 31, 2026.

How Much?

Disney will pay $50M. 90% of the Net Settlement Fund will be allocated for payments to Settlement Class Members who resided in a Repealer Jurisdiction at any time during the class period. 10% of the Net Settlement Fund will be allocated for payments to the remaining Settlement Class Members located in the Non-Repealer Jurisdictions.

If you are a member of the Settlement Classes, you can submit a claim form to receive a pro rata cash payment proportional to the length of your YouTube TV and/or DirecTV Stream subscription.

Our Verdict

No word on how much payment will be, will depend how many people file, but it can never hurt to throw in a claim if you’re eligible. Seems like you would have received a unique claim ID, if you are eligible.

American Express is showing in the login an increased bonus for someone who refers a friend to the American Express Blue Cash Everyday card: 

• Referrer gets $175 in Reward Dollars per referral. You can earn a referral bonus up to a of 5 times per calendar year.
• Signup bonus for the new member is the regular ‘up to $200’ offer.

• Giant Eagle/Market District/GetGo are offering 2,500 loyalty points (worth $50-$75 for grocery/gas) when you buy $250 in third party gift cards from July 2 – July 8, 2026.

Seems like it works on any third party gift cards and options include Best Buy, Starbucks, DoorDash, Home Depot, Apple Disney, Lowe’s and more. I don’t know much about Giant Eagle points, but this sounds like a great deal.

Reddit user Parts_Unknown- then confirmed this was true, even if the MR accounts are separated. Their P2 shows ‘add an AU’ offer for their Business Platinum card when they are browsing cards on their other login with a different membership rewards account.

In a surprising move, Rakuten is now promoting a $50/5,000 bonus when signing up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Freedom Unlimited, and Chase INK Unlimited.

This is perfect timing on the Sapphire Preferred card which is already offering an excellent 100,000 points bonus (ending soon). 

Typically shopping portals are not allowed to offered kickbacks for credit card signups. While the affiliate can sometimes earn well in excess of $50 per signups, the banks and affiliate networks don’t typically allow incentivizing signups in that manner. Apparently Rakuten negotiated this deal specially with Chase. (We don’t use credit card affiliate links on Doctorofcredit ever.)

A lot of us apply using the referral link of a player-2 or a friend which might be better than with using Rakuten. Still, many people prefer an easy bonus like this, especially if you value Rakuten/MR points at more than 1 cent each. (There’s yet another option of buying a card signup bonus on eBay.)

It’s kinda strange to earn Membership Rewards points for signing up on a Chase card. 🙂

Our Verdict

 If you get added as an authorized user they add your whole history so if the primary card has been opened for more than two years it won’t affect your 5/24 status. Fantastic offer if targeted.
