Behind the first track, there's a story.

On the last day of our trip to Japan, while wandering through Tokyo, we stumbled upon a small jazz bar where a Caribbean jazz band was about to perform. Jazz bars are a recurring theme in Haruki Murakami's novels, so it felt like one of those memorable travel moments that quietly stay with you.
Before the concert began, the venue was playing records, and one track immediately caught my attention: VVAA - Jukka Eskola - 1974. I loved it from the very first listen. I tried to include it in one of my mixes soon after, but I couldn't find a transition that felt right into the next track, so I eventually set it aside. Then came the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, which reminded me of that evening in Tokyo - and of this beautiful piece of music. This time, I finally found the right place for it, and it became the opening track of this Carnaval Session.

🟠 [EN] The name Carnaval Sessions comes from a personal journey inspired by Haruki Murakami’s visit to Copenhagen, where he read the story Carnaval from First Person Singular. This sparked a deeper connection, leading me to explore Schumann’s Carnaval, performed by Rubinstein, as mentioned in the story. Just like how Murakami’s tale weaves together music and introspection, this show delves into the mysteries that music uncovers. Through sound, we transcend the everyday and enter a world where our dreams, thoughts, and fantasies come to life.

Tracklist/Description: My July 2026 edition w/ brandnew House-not-House jams for Hamburgs dopest radiostation is up on the cloud. Storytellers / Jazz on Toast 7 Burnin' to Blue
Berlin, Germany

Do You Know Juno is a vinyl DJ whose sets unfold as carefully crafted stories, rooted in jazz and shaped by the enduring legacies of Detroit and Chicago dance music. Drawing from spiritual and fusion jazz, disco, broken beat, soulful house, acid, and contemporary nu-jazz, she blends deep musicality with rhythmic precision and emotional depth. Anchored in jazz phrasing, improvisation, and swing, Juno treats each record as a narrative element, moving fluidly between live instrumentation and machine rhythms, warm harmonies and raw grooves. Her sound bridges timeless dance music traditions with a contemporary sensibility, creating journeys that are soulful, timeless and forward-looking. Since arriving in Berlin in 2024, Juno has rapidly established herself as a rising presence within the city's music community, securing a steady stream of bookings across clubs, cultural spaces, and multitudes of listening environments. Her distinctive approach has led her to share lineups with artists including Craig Smith, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Dan Shake, Detroit Techno Militia, DJ Jus-Ed and more.

Alongside her DJ work, she curates and hosts events such as Storytellers, Jazz on Toast, and Burnin' to Blue, through thoughtful curation and a deep respect for dance culture and the musical traditions that continue to inspire her work.

Excedo Radio Show 085/2 w Aroop Roy 20.06.2026

Tracklist/Description: Our latest #radioshow for @excedorecords broadcasted on @RINItaliaNetworkChannel is now on #youtube and #soundcloud including fresh and groovy House tracks.
