Acer Aspire One: No Sound

I had the same problem as the OP, and I fixed it by following the instructions below to reinstall the PnP device enumerator. Reinstalling the audio drivers, rebooting, etc, did nothing, and there was no 'mixer device' or sound no matter how much it looked like the sound card was properly installed in the device manager. I was surprised the fix worked - it seems like something out of the Win95 days.

You could also try the (similar) solutions give here, with option 2 (copied below) looking to be the easiest:

Solution #2: Repair Windows XP Installation

Simple enough. However, I do advise you trying solution #1 first, as many people have found success with it.

1. Insert your Windows XP installation CD. (Make sure your BIOS is set to boot first from CD.)
2. When prompted, choose install. Do NOT choose Repair Console, that functionality will not help with this issue.
3. Windows will find an existing XP installation and ask you if you would like to repair it. Choose that option!
4. XP should successfully repair the PnP SDE. Reinstall your audio drivers and you’re done.

I was reading Zoë Colver on the Insider blog for expansys and they have a smartphone for £100, it is a year or two old, but it seems like a good deal.

I had this problem, I found that going to /home/YOURUSERNAME/.mozilla/firefox/PROFILENAME.default/ and deleting localstore.rdf fixed the issue.

Note: the words in capitals are dependant on your computer. The profile name will be some random numbers a letters, e.g. 6shxcbs.default.

I don't get it, didn't Steve Jobs state in his announcement, "I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for Apple's day to day operations, and I know he and the rest of the executive management team will do a great job."

Isn't that basically saying that Tim Cook will be running Apple?

Apart from the forum, DoesWhat has gone completely cached. This means faster loading times for you, a happy host and protection against heavy loads.

Usually, PHP and MySQL are queried every time someone visits a page, when pages are cached, this means that the visitor visits a static page, when the site is updated the cache is cleared and reloaded again with the new info.

We tested the speed and we halved loading times by doing so.

I had a dual speaker system which was fine, I tend to use earphones now because it has more impact, but if you are getting speakers then you should get the Creative I Trigue 3220 Speakers 2.1. Its two speakers and a bass, which is all you need for a desk.

No, waste of time really, MacBook Air is the only decent netbook out there if you can call it that, but is far too overpriced!
