My son will soon be a big brother, and he's been fascinated with babies because of all the talk of a new sibling. I decided to get him a doll, and our first one was an inexpensive Circo hard plastic bath doll. She's cute and durable, and my son responded well to her. However, she's not good for cuddling. So, I decided to splurge on a Corolle. I'm so glad I did.
This doll has a soft body with a weighted bottom, and even though the limbs and head are plastic they are yeilding. It feels much more like a real baby than the Circo. My son loves hugging the doll and he treats this one much more gently than the other. Even the adults have enjoyed this doll - it really is very comforting to hold. It's an excellent doll to encourage nurturing behavior.
I was really considering getting an anatomically correct doll, since I find the blank gender to be a little weird. The Corolles get around that by having the stuffed body look like a onsie - this one is white with the Corolle logo on it.
My son is a tall 2 1/2 year old, and I was worried that a 14 inch doll would be a bit small for him, but it's a great size. The Corolle is a bit bulkier than the skinny Circo doll as well, even though they are both 14 inch overall.
Finally, I was never much of a doll person, even when little. Dolls often creep me out. Not this one. He's charming, and realistic without falling into the uncanny valley.
I was very hesitant to purchase because of the price, but this is really a quality toy. He's already been washed (on gentle, in a lingerie bag, air-dry) and looks new. And of course, seeing my son be such a good brother-in-training was well worth the splurge.

I have purchased all three of these fashion packs - Be Cool, Be Chill, and Be Sparkly - at a local retailer for only $[...]. They are not hard to find or rare.

I also want to let you know that the outfits you may get are a little different from these prototype photos. Please be sure to ask the seller to confirm or clarify that you are getting the exact outfits in the photos. Better yet, ask them to take a photo of the actual fashion packs they are selling. These are stock photos of protoypes, and you don't always get what is in the photo.

For example, the outfit on the far right in the Be Cool fashion pack I purchased in a retail store had a differently styled top. The print was the same, but it was a jacket, not a pullover.

The Be Chill pack did not come with the blue tights you see with the skirt outfit. It also did not come with the shorts that you see in the second outfit. It comes with jean. Also, the boots are a bit different.

I have not seen any differences in the Be Sparkly packs that I have seen online.

I just don't want anyone to be disappointed with their purchases, especially considering the incredible mark up of price you see online. Please try to find the stuff in stores - you'll save money and be able to buy two packs for what you'd pay for one online!

The Liv Dolls and Accessories are so awesome and cute! The detail is amazing and the styles are a breath of fresh air. I simply adore them!

This doll is the same size as the American Girl dolls but much less expensive. My 7 year old granddaughter loves it. I had two concerns with it. The package was very difficult to open. I know they do this on purpose, but I think the mfg. got carried away with this one. The other thing is the doll's leges. Like the majority of Greenleaf products, this one is a royal pain. Though the finished product can be lovely if you work hard enough it, that is no credit to the designers. Materials are shoddy, instructions are vague, illustrations are completely nonexistent. The schematics are frequently incorrect, the wood splinters easily, the pieces are frequently not cut properly so have to be hacked out. As often as not, pieces do not fit together, so have to be altered or replaced by the builder. This will probably be the last one I will build by Greenleaf, unless they improve the quality of their products. My five year-old daughter desperately wanted the Moxie Girlz car for Christmas. Turns out, it looked more exciting on television than it actually is. Since she's gotten it, she's played with it about twice. Ever since then, it's been sitting untouched. Her friend down the street also got one. I thought they'd play with the cars together. I guess her friend doesn't play with it anymore, either.

The car came with one marker (pink). How fun is that? This is marker on plastic. If you've ever written with marker on plastic, you know how that goes. It can smear all over until it sets. Once it sets overnight, it is permanent. This is not an erasable marker on a wipe-off surface. Even when wiped off soon after marking, there is a stain. I think it would have been better as a write-on wipe-off surface.

The car runs well on our carpet or hard surface. The girls have the option of driving straight forward or backward turning right. The backward turn is at a very large angle. For very short distances, it looks like it's going straight back. This is the only way for the girls to turn the car's direction of travel. It must back up. I don't know if the makers are skimping because it's a girls' car; but really, they should make a car that turns going forward.

The top of the car comes off so the girls can place a doll inside. My daughter said she doesn't want to put her Barbies and other similarly sized dolls in because one of them couldn't sit in it and her other ones were too big. We didn't buy Moxie Girlz dolls.

I wouldn't call this a complete bomb. It needs more markers and the RC function could be better. Otherwise, it works, but it just didn't capture my daughter's interest.

My daughter saw me writing the review for this toy and has taken an interest in it. She colored the entire car with the included marker and another marker she has at home. She thinks it's beautiful.

She's also been running the car around the house. It is getting some play time. Instead of dolls, she's tried putting tiny stuffed animals inside.

I still think the car needs improvement in driveability and more markers. And although my daughter plays with it, it's just a few minutes here and there. That does up the star rating, though. Toy has hidden instructions about what type of food it can have. This size can only have the juice type meals and not the other baby alive food formula as that is for the "larger doll". This was not known until the other products were purchased as it was a recommended item for this baby. We got this doll house for our daughter for Christmas. It is one of her favorite toys! It takes up less room than barbies and she plays for hours and hours. There are a lot of additional sets to buy, but the nice thing is that all of the funiture (including the family car) can fit in the doll house making for easy clean up. Our daughter absolutely loves it and is saving her pennies to buy more furniture for the house. Some of the objects make sounds which my daughter just love and it is so ammusing to watch her play. The only problem I have found is with the family van, the doors on it always and forever are falling off. It gets a little annoying to reatch them again and again, but that would have to be my only complaint. Her creativty errupts from the moment she opens the house, trying to decide what goes where. Then her little family takes outings has meals, etc. My daughter is only 3 and I can tell we will get plenty of use out of this toy. There are really just not enought good things to say about this doll house. Easy clean up, great play time- you cannot go wrong with this purchase. Some of the extra furniture sets can be on the pricey side, around $15-20 a set; but I told my family we were gettin the house which came with 3 sets and the family each purchased a set or two and now she has plenty. The idea is good, and my daughter loves to "play" with them. But... The recommended age is 3?? The parts are tiny: my daughter got 4 of these for Christmas & has already lost several of the shoes & probably would have lost more of the items if I wasn't so anal about keeping them all together in a plastic baggie. Also, the rubber clothes are hard to put on & take off, even for an adult: I can't believe they would think a 3-yr-old could dress these things. The quality is so-so: typical made-in-China merchandise. I don't know what initially drew me to this doll. I don't watch sports, I was never a cheerleader and I don't think I've ever driven through Texas, let alone visited or gone to a football game. They're just fun and flirty, and nicely done. So I bought them to add to a somewhat unfocused collection of modern fashion dolls. Though I like a variety of dolls, my main interest seems to be evening gowns of the high-end collector variety. I'm getting picky in my old age about how a fabric drapes, whether or not the scale of an accessory is right, and overall whether or not something is nicely done. So you can imagine my surprise when I picked up the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader dolls and found everything I was looking for in a collectible doll.

In fact, one area where Mattel has consistently failed miserably is in manufacturing boots for Barbie. I can't begin to tell you the kind of junk on expensive collector dolls that has passed for boots, from bright pink, ill fitting hard plastic, to regular shoes with a vinyl "sleeve" over them in a matching color, like they were hoping we wouldn't notice. The boots on these dolls are well-made and remind me of the innovations I used to see in hand-made customized dolls when I attended Barbie conventions.

The costume is well-made and Mattel doesn't seem to have skimped on anything here, though the blouse appears to be taped down in a couple of strategic places. She stays nicely on the provided "saddle" stand in spite of the shorts, and looks great in the box, which is attractive and eye-catching rather than some of the over the top packaging I've seen lately. The dolls debox rather easily, so whether you keep them in the box or take them out, this is one you'll enjoy.
