Yahoo Mail Errors Running Slow Solution

In recent months, I haven't been able to use my Yahoo Mail, reasons being it's too slow to load up.

It usually takes 10 minutes to load up the mail or won't load up at all, so don't even think about sending mails or downloading attachments.

My Yahoo Mail is my main Email account, so I am not looking for an alternative provider.

There is a way round it to read mail, just go to Yahoo Mail

However you can't download attachments there.

Hope Yahoo will sort out this problem soon.

After receiving loads of scams like this in the post, this is an e-mail version at it's worst.

The domain in question does not even belong to me, it doesn't even expire on the 24th June.

Anyone with any domain experience will not fall for it.

Their 10 years deal is realy great, reduced from $75 to a mere $29.5 a year.

Sad reality is people do fall for this type of scam, if not they won't keep trying.

Funny thing is that after payment, the domain won't even renew.

ICANN should step up and take action against this type of con.

I checked the ICANN website and apparently they do not deal with spam mails, so I guess nobody is adressing this problem.

P.S. I blocked the domain name just in case it belongs to someone innocent.

3 months ago I left 20 domains on to the Adsense for domain program.

And here 's the result, avg 10,000 views 1 click and 10 cent a month.

I think this was due to the low quality layout and page format Google is providing.

Conclusion is that I am out until there is better improvement.

Lost year on transfers of recently renewed domain names

Been buying, selling and transferring domains for years and this was new.

Did you know that if you renew a domain and transfer it to another registrar within 45days, even your new registrar said they give you a year renewal, there chance is chance that it won't happen, and you will only end up with one year renewed instead of two.

I remember transferring a renewed domain and it never happen before, until recently I bought a expiring domain and transferred it to Godaddy, I was charged by the seller for the renewal, and also by Godaddy for the transfer which promised a free year renewal.

Once everything was transferred, I noticed I got a year missing, done some research and guess what I found on Godaddy's transfer agreement, 4th paragraph

"4. TRANSFERS OF RECENTLY RENEWED DOMAIN NAMES
You understand that if You are transferring a domain name that has been recently renewed, there is the potential the renewal year will be lost. The renewal year will be lost if: (i) the domain name was renewed during the forty-five (45) day grace period after the expiration date had passed; and (ii) forty-five (45) days have not yet passed since that expiration date. You understand and agree that Go Daddy is not responsible for this lost year and that Go Daddy will not credit that year to Your domain. You will need to review the registration agreement You have with Your previous registrar to determine if You are due a refund or credit for the lost year. Please contact Your previous registrar if You have any questions about the lost year. You understand and agree that Go Daddy will not intervene in the recovery of any such lost registration years that occur during the transfer of Your domain name."

Well I can't take it up with the previous registrar since I wan't the owner then, and also the amount was too little to chase, well just a note for the future

Changing Blogspot sidebar from left to right

As many of you might have found that the standard templates given by Blogger are either left sidebar or right.

What if you love this template, but want the sidebar on the other side, well here's a very simple solution, which just takes a minute of your time.

Here's how.

1) select "Layout" and "Edit html"

2) search for "main-wrapper" in the coding

3) next to where it said "float: "$endSide;" change it to "float: $startSide;"

4) search for "sidebar-wrapper" in the coding

5) next to where it said "float: "$startSide;" change it to "float: $endSide;"

Some templates might have "left" instead of "$startSide;", so all you do is change the "left" into right.

So if you want to change from right sidebar to left just do the steps in reverse.

Ebay had changed their sale commission based payment to a quality click system on 1st October 2009.

What does this mean and how is it affecting your revenue?

Well, it just means affiliates will not be paid per sale, instead per click based on traffic quality.

Quality based on their “third party’s” program, and the clicks leading to a sale.

So are you going to get paid less? According to ebay’s FAQ the average Joe should be earning his average revenue, or maybe even more!

It has been a week since they moved me to the new system, as I am not one of the big players that get to keep using the commission system.

And have I got my average dollar per week? No I got zero from only 1 click? Where previously I get an average of 10 clicks per day?

Something must be going really wrong here.

Domain Accounting Treating Domain Purchase in Account

Most domain traders confuse on the classification of their domains, should domain purchase be on the balance sheet or in as expense?

Well this is a grey area, and no separate tax rule made for it, so you can treat it like a car dealer.

Here's how it can be done, I am not saying it’s 100% correct, be it’s generally accepted for UK, I am sure it’s very similar in other countries, but you should check the tax rules there first.

Method 1 (complicated method)

Balance Sheet:

Investment Asset: domains that I had done a site for and giving me ad revenue.

Stock: a stocktake/valuation of my domains at year end date (note does not include the ones already accounted for in investment asset)

Profit and Lost:

Sales: proceeds from sale of websites and domains

Cost of sales: Opening stock + Purchases - Closing stock

Gross profit: Net proceeds from sales

Then other income: revenue from parking and advertising and other income (i.e. web design)

Expenses: hosting, transfer fees, commissions, renewal fees for fix asset, etc

Method 2 (simple method)

Same as method one, but without the stock, so all purchases will go in as a cost of sale.

The simple method is more suited to a small domain trader, as their stock held is not significant.

Which earn more? Left side or right side ads?

With the ongiong debate about which side to put your ads left or right.

I had a little experiment myself, and here is the result

As you can see the results varies between different, but it does look in a bit favour to the left in revenue wise.

In conclusion, the left hand side ads does get more notice, but the right had side ads is where most users kept their mouse point, so I guess they cancel each other out.

I feel that different placement of ads suits different sites, I would be happy getting a 3% click through rate, so if your site do an average of 3 to 5 %, I won;t try and change anything.

Beware DHL-USA delivery email virus

Recently received an e-mail from delivery@dhl-usa.com asking for me to pick up a parcel, they included a file with the wrong postal address.

I didn't open it as it's a zip file, further reasearch showed that it's a fraudulent email, with the virus Infostealer.Banker.C virus attached.

DHL had already published a post warning users of this, here is a link:

Here is my anwser to one of the question from eBay's publisher's survey:

Q: If there is one change that could be made to ePN which would cause you to increase your share of efforts with ePN, what would it be?

Please be as specific as possible

A: eBay should be paying more to small website owners, I used to receive an avgerage of £1 a week for my site from sales, avgerage 10,000 visitors per month.

Now no matter how many clicks I get the revenue is zero. I know it's nothing compare to the big guys, but it did gave me an incentive to promote eBay.

Now me and many other website owners i know are planning to give it up, as we're not getting rewarded for our efforts.

If you do your maths, before the change from payment per sale ebay had wide coverage, now only the sub affiliate companies benefits from sales, eBay might be gaining on percentage click to sale, but you're losing the free promotions by website owners.

Lets face it how many 1million hits a day big website have eBay ads on? How many sub affiliate users haven't heared of and are new to eBay?

I just felt it was just a cost cutting plan, if ebay haven't notice already the roll on effect it has on the sale by affiliate click, it will do as time will show.

Isn't paying a small fee to get a millions of views on websites cheaper that paying £xxx,xxxx to advertise on tv.

Don't know how much eBay paying the guys behide this new eBay affiliate scheme, but i am sure eBay will save and earn much more by giving them the sack.

No offence to you or any others dealing with this survey, but just to let you know I declare myself out, and I assure you I won't be the only one.

Q: Please let us know any other comments or suggestions you have.

A: Go back to the old system for all publishers, which is fair to all publishers.
